The popes looked at me with strange looks when I came out of the main chapel.
The way that they looked at me was as if they had received some kind of oracle from the gods, but they were afraid to say anything about it.
It wasn't hard to guess that they had an idea of what happened, but it didn't seem like they were going to stop supporting me because of it. It seemed like they were at least still going to help me deal with the forces of Destruction.
After all, it was their own lives that were at stake if they didn't help me.
I didn't know exactly what the gods had sent to the popes, but it was clear that they knew more than normal people should.
"I need space to prepare." I said to them calmly after coming out.
The popes just nodded in agreement before turning around to lead the way.
It was as if they had already expected me to say this with how they led me forward.
Only when we arrived, I found that it wasn't what I had expected.
