A few days later, after fully resting, Maximus and Iris went to the edge of the Eryndor Void Outpost.
"Too dense. I didn't expect just a glimpse of the Dark Disaster to be this dangerous," Iris sighed.
She hadn't even been born when the first disaster struck the Aeon Plane. Seeing it now for the first time, she couldn't help but feel a throbbing in her chest.
"Don't worry. I'm here," Maximus said, comforting her.
No matter how strong someone was, facing an endless horde of dark beasts, one would easily be in despair.
Even Maximus couldn't promise to defeat the Dark Disaster; the only confidence he had was protecting them from it.
Feeling the warmth in her hands, Iris quickly calmed down.
Looking at the dark beasts, Iris clenched her fists, ready to test her strength.
"Do you want to come with me?"
"No. You have fun—I'll watch from behind."
Maximus had long since stopped caring about killing these mindless dark beasts.
