Bai Xiao playfully glared at him, her eyes glistening with an affection even she couldn't quite understand.
"Don't you love calling me foolish Huang? Hey, you've scolded me so much I'm actually starting to believe it now." Ye Huang sighed, pretending to be helpless.
Bai Xiao finally smiled, softly asking, "Are you hungry? Thirsty? Need anything? I'll get it for you."
"Come up here, lie down with me." Ye Huang patted the spot next to him on the bed.
Bai Xiao had no hesitation, took off her shoes, and obediently lay down beside him.
Ye Huang held her hand, and the two of them lay there, staring at the ceiling.
Time quietly drifted by, and after a long while, Bai Xiao finally spoke: "Any formidable enemies lately?"
"No," Ye Huang said.
Bai Xiao fell silent: If the enemy doesn't move, it's hard to investigate this matter.
