Rowan did not care if his statements were false; simply stating them prompted his Destiny to respond, and the corruption that filled his consciousness was washed away.

When Rowan's power was placed into perspective, he was a relatively humble individual; still, it did not mean his ego was not bigger than a galaxy. To control the sort of power he had, you need confidence that could crush diamonds.
Every time he used his powers, his willpower would have to equate to a mortal jumping into an active volcano, while believing with no doubt that they would survive.
To have a mind like that either required madness or an unshakable confidence in their abilities, and this confidence was further solidified by the acquisition of Intent and then Will. This was all without adding the boost from bloodlines and other skills acquired along the way from the endless trials he had undergone that boosted his mind to ridiculous levels.
