Chapter 43 - Episode 5/Chapter 43: Fairy Rights!

The supreme courtroom was bustling with chatter until the voice of Rocky Railroad quiets the room.

"Your honor!" Rocky Railroad is the attorney that is representing all fairies of Fairyland. His uncle, Larrie Locomotie, sat behind him along with a few other fairies and human advocates.

"I have provided enough substantial evidence," Rocky continues, "that proves the significant intelligence of fairies and that our intelligence far exceeds that of even the smartest animals."

Rocky paced across the table with his hands clasped behind his back as he continued.

"That is, if my presence and display of human behavior before your very eyes isn't proof enough."

Judge Moody sat up at the judges seat and stroked his slick white mustache. His gold rimmed glasses gleaming as he took in what Rocky said and thinking about it with seemingly little interest. It's as if he were taking the entire case as a play case for fun, and thus, wasn't really taking it seriously.

"You have a point," Judge Moody says. "We usually don't allow animals in the courtroom."

Debra Jones stood up. She was the attorney for Broomhilda. A dark skinned woman in her forties and dressed in a serious business suit, Debra struck intimidation into anyone around her.

"Your honor, might I argue?" Debra says as she walks around the table. "It has been found that monkey's are able to communicate with humans, use tools, and even identify plant life that are deemed beneficial to their health. Would you allow a monkey in the courtroom? You said you wouldn't allow animals, so…"

"Hell no! No animals in the court room!" Moody slams the gavel for…some reason.

"Well, this fairy here is no different," Debra continues. "Just because it can talk and wear clothes doesn't make it a person."

"That's a good point," Judge Moody agrees.

"Objection!" Rocky yells. "I point out relevance! While monkeys are somewhat able to communicate, it is extremely basic and they certainly do not possess the intelligence and self awareness required to stand here before you and argue with you about the rights and citizenship of their species!"

Rocky's side of the room claps in agreement.

"That's true," Judge Moody partially agrees. "But I would have to see some more proof that your species are more like humans than what I've seen so far. Can you feel emotions like humans? Would you come to a fellow humans rescue if you saw they needed help? Can you use a restroom like a human?"

Before Rocky could answer, the courtroom is startled by the noise of a toilet flushing. Everyone in the room turns to see Teenie fluttering out of the restroom.

"My goodness!" Teenie blushes. "That was a lot of fairy chocolate in the toilet!"

"Teenie!" Rocky called. "Just in time! What were you doing at Fairy Wings Distribution?"

"Miss Teenie, please take the stand," Judge Moody orders and Teenie flies over to the stand.

"Well, I was trying to rescue all our kidnapped friends." Teenie says. "Those evil witches that own Fairy Wings took us from our homes, our families, and our friends…"

Teenie starts to sob at the thought of all the kidnapped and murdered fairies.

Andrew and Oliver sat with the audience, among some fairies who were crying.

"After so many years," Teenie continues, "of watching my friends and family get taken away and no one helping us, I decided to become an activist. I did my research and found out that fairies were being murdered at that horrible company and used as ingredients for their disgusting tea. I just couldn't stand it anymore! I had to do something! So after the next batch of fairies were trapped and kidnapped, I followed them to broomhilda's house and hid in her storage until it was time to be shipped off to the distribution center. Then, I met this nice young man named, Andrew. He helped me get through the entire building and gather all the proof of those witches cruelty to fairies!"

"Lies!" Debra shouts. "That little…thing is lying!"

Redalia stands up.

"Your honor! I bear witness to the cruelty and horror!"

"Alright, come on up." Judge Moody says and Redalia swaps seats with Teenie.

"I worked at fairy wings for about a year and a half and I was never given a raise to minimum wage! Even after all my hard work and precise counting abilities!" Redalia complains.

"Um, Redalia?" Rocky says. "What other horrors did you witness? Perhaps something pertaining to being cruel to fairies?"

"Oh! Right!" Redalia continues. "Well, they lock them in cages, they pluck their wings off their backs and then after that they juice and blend them alive."

Andrew stood up with his phone up showing the pictures of everything Redalia had detailed.

"See! Here it is! Look at this shit!' Andrew twirls around to show everyone who gasped in shock.

"That's horrible," Judge Moody says with genuine concern. "Alright, young lady you can return to your seat."

Redalia returns to the seats next to Andrew.

"Well, based off of everything you guys have shown me regarding the human qualities of fairies," Judge Moody says, "I'd say it's only right to grant the fairies of fairyland the same rights as humans in America." Judge Moody slams his gavel.

The audience cheers. Teenie flies over to Rocky and hugs him.

"Oh my goodness! We did it!" Teenie says with tears of joy dropping from her eyes.

"And being that you have all been ignored since the start of these atrocities," Judge Moody continued, "despite your desperate pleas for help, I declare Fairy Wings to be shut down and all who have assisted in the kidnapping, torture and murder of any fairies during its operation shall be prosecuted." Judge Moody slams the gavel again, the sound was once again followed by the deafening sound of cheering. Everyone seemed to be cheering except for Oliver Moreworth and Debra Jones.

"Damn…"Oliver mutters, "that was my favorite brand of tea…"
