"I'm not sure... but this is my war after all, I don't want to involve him unless necessary. Plus, when I left him before, I was determined to catch up and stand side by side with him. Yet, five years have passed, and I've accomplished nothing, still watching his back. I really am..."
Lar opened her mouth, glanced at Rafael, and stopped her steps accordingly.
In the distance, Rafael's cave residence was faintly visible, but Lar had no intention of going forward.
She glanced at Rafael, who looked a bit conflicted, knowing well that Rafael wouldn't reveal these feelings in front of Fisher.
Rafael might have fantasized countless times that after securing freedom and a future for the South Continent, she could openly seek out Fisher and bring him back... rather than being unable to even let him appear before her comrades...
Lar understood deeply the guilt and sadness Rafael felt because of this.
