Ishana: Shimla! Damn, Abhi is here on his bachelor trip with his friends—but no clue where he could be staying or what he might be doing...
Tia: Oooh, so you're wondering about Abhi—your fiancé! Damn, girl, and here you were saying you didn't wanna marry him.
Ishana: It's not like I'm wondering... I'm just saying he's here for his bachelor trip..
(The group hikes through winding trails, the forest thick around them. Laughter and chatter echo through the trees as they climb steadily. Ishana walks ahead with Tia, the sun now glinting through the pine branches.)
Narration (Tia):
The hike wasn't easy, but the air was fresh, and the view kept us going.
Maya (calling out from behind):
"Hey! I think I see smoke — is that... a campfire?"
Luca (squinting):
"There's a group already up there. Looks like someone beat us to the best spot!"
Rashmi:
"Let's go say hi anyway. Maybe we can share the space."
(They approach slowly. As they crest the ridge, a cozy campsite comes into view — a tent set-up, soft chatter, and a fire crackling at the center. A group of guys sit around it, sipping tea, laughing. Ishana steps forward, ready to greet them.)
Ishana (cheerfully):
"Hey there! Looks like we're camping neighbors—"
(She suddenly stops mid-sentence. Her eyes widen. Abhi, sitting near the fire, hoodie pulled up, legs stretched out in front of him. He laughs at something one of his friends says.)
Ishana (in a whisper):
"Wait… is that...?"
Tia (whispering behind her):
"Oh. My. God." Seems like your wondering is over...
(The group ducks slightly behind a boulder, peeking around, trying to process the coincidence. Ishana crouches, stunned, watching silently.)
Abhi (unaware, speaking to his group):
"…I mean, I love her, man. I love Ishana. Always have. But sometimes, I get this feeling she's just… not there. Like, she's marrying me because it's what everyone expects — not because she wants to."
(A heavy silence falls among the girls. Ishana stares, stunned, heart pounding.)
Abhi (softly, almost to himself):
"I'd give her everything, you know? But I don't think she loves me back."
Ishana (quiet, lost in thought):
"I… I didn't know he felt that way. He never said anything like that to me."
(BEFORE ISHANA AND HER GROUP ARRIVAL)
(The tents are finally set up. The fire is crackling, warm and bright. Everyone is sitting on foldable chairs or logs around it, holding mugs of hot tea. Snowflakes fall gently as a few marshmallows roast on sticks over the flames.)
Olivia:
(Taking a sip of tea)
"Okay, I officially forgive Jack for dragging us up this mountain."
Jack:
(Laughs)
"See? Trust the plan. Always."
Nick:
(Holding his marshmallow carefully)
"Can someone tell me why my marshmallow is on fire?! I just wanted it golden, not cremated!"
Sophia:
(Grinning)
"Because even your marshmallow knows you have commitment issues. It's trying to escape."
Everyone:
(Laughs)
Kevin:
(Looking serious)
"Real question: if a bear shows up, who do we sacrifice first?"
Tom:
(Points at himself)
"Not me. I'm the guy with snacks."
Krish:
"I vote Nick. He flirts too much. The bear might fall in love with him".
Nick:
(Fakes offense)
"Wow. This is what friendship looks like? Feeding me to wildlife?
"But never mind i know I'm hot enough to melt the bear heart".
Elsa:
(With a marshmallow in mouth)
"yeh right."
Abhi:
(Laughing quietly)
"This is turning into a roast."
Daniel:
(Sips his tea)
"Okay, but seriously… who bought an extra pair of socks? My toes are writing their will."
Justin:
(Hands him a pair)
"I brought an extra. Because I plan better than my life choices suggest."
Olivia:
(Looking at her sticky fingers)
"Why does eating marshmallows feel like wrestling with a spider web?"
Rocky:
"Because no one told you it turns to glue the second you bite it."
Sophia:
(Raising her mug)
"To messy marshmallows, cold toes, and good company."
Everyone:
(Cheers)
"To messy marshmallows and cold toes!"
(The fire burns steadily. The group sits around it, laughter quieting down . The mood softens. Some are sipping tea, others quietly roasting the last marshmallows.)
Justin:
(Leaning back)
"So... what happens when we go back? Life as usual?"
Kevin:
"Back to work, bills, and pretending to have my life together. Yup."
Sophia:
(Looking at Abhi)
"What about you, Abhi? Ready for the big wedding?"
Abhi:
(Pauses, staring into the fire)
"Honestly? Not sure."
Olivia:
(Concerned)
"What do you mean? You're getting married tomorrow?"
Abhi:
(Sighs)
"Yeah... and I love her. I really do. But lately… I feel like I'm the only one who does."
Nick:
(Surprised)
"You mean Ishana?"
Abhi:
(Nods)
"She's distant. Quiet. Like she's somewhere else entirely. And sometimes I think… she doesn't love me back."
(A heavy silence falls over the group. The fire crackles softly.)
Abhi:
"But I'm marrying her anyway. Maybe she'll come around. Maybe love will grow."
Daniel:
"bro dont worry, you just need to give her time and space that's it."
Abhi:
(Shrugs)
"I just want to believe there's still hope."
(A soft crunch of footsteps on snow interrupts them. Someone's approaching. A few heads turn. Standing just behind Abhi, unnoticed by him — Ishana. Her expression is a mix of shock, disbelief, and rising anger.)
Sophia
(murmurs)
"Abhi... behind you."
Abhi
(turns slowly, eyes widening)
"Ishana…"
Ishana
(steps forward, her voice cold)
"So this is what you do,roasting marshmallow and your fiance?"
Abhi
(taken aback)
"I—I didn't know you were here. I didn't mean—"
Ishana
(cutting him off)
"No, you meant it. Every word. You just didn't expect me to hear it."
(Silence. The group shifts uncomfortably, giving them space.)
Ishana
(angry now)
"You're out here acting like the heartbroken hero — painting me like I'm cold, unloving. But did you ever stop to ask why I've been distant?"
Abhi
(quietly)
"I thought I knew it all…"
Ishana
(scoffs)
"No, Abhi. I'm not in love with you. I agreed to this marriage because I was pushed into it. By family, by pressure, by expectations."
Abhi
(hurt, stepping back slightly)
"I know."
Ishana
(voice cracking)
"Because every time I tried, someone reminded me of how 'perfect' we look on paper. How lucky I am. But I'm not. And now… here you are, telling a sweet love story around a fire, while I'm still trying to figure out how to get out of a wedding I don't want."
