Chapter 53 - Chapter 51: The Blueprint of Chronos

The panic outside the walls of Kiyosu was a tangible, suffocating fog, but inside the secure vaults of the Central Strategy Chamber, the atmosphere was as cold and precise as an iron clockwork engine.

Subaru Ryu stood before the massive, three-dimensional tactical map table.

Across his retinas, the blue light of the system user interface flared with an immense volume of real-time data streams, calculating vectors, marching velocities, and geographic friction points.

[SYSTEM ADMINISTRATIVE INTERFACE: TIME-LOGISTICAL MATRIX]

ENEMY MAIN BODY : IMAGAWA YOSHIMOTO (25,000 Suruga-Totomi Core)

ENEMY VANGUARD : MATSUDAIRA MOTOYASU (5,000 Mikawa Cavalry)

CURRENT LOCATION: Passing through Western Totomi into Eastern Mikawa

MARCH VELOCITY : 4.5 Ri (approx. 18 km) per solar day (Heavy Supply Train)

ESTIMATED ARRIVAL AT OWARI BORDER: 76 Hours (3 Days, 4 Hours)

"The numbers do not lie, and neither does the terrain," Subaru muttered, his fingers sweeping across the digital map to trace the Tokaido highway.

His 91 INT was firing at maximum capacity, mapping out the precise timeline of the invasion.

"Yoshimoto is marching with the pomp and circumstance of a Kyoto court noble.

He has brought massive lacquered palanquins, court musicians, and an immense supply train of luxury goods.

That is his greatest strength, but strategically, it is his fatal anchor."

The heavy cedar doors of the chamber slid open.

One by one, the core strategic minds and military anchors of the new Oda clan stepped into the room.

They did not wear their formal court robes; they were clad in weathered riding armor, their faces etched with the gravity of men who knew the entire realm had already written their obituaries.

LEAD: 78 | ATK: 68 | DEF: 89 | INT: 74 | POL: 65

Trait: [The Fortified Bastion] -> +15% Defense in a border fortress.

Oda Nobunaga sat at the head of the table, his black wool cloak draped over his shoulders, his face completely unreadable.

Behind him stood Lady Kichō, her eyes cold as flint, holding a set of fresh intelligence scrolls delivered by her hidden shinobi network.

"Ryu," Nobunaga commanded, his voice cutting through the low murmur of the room like a razor blade.

"Give us the clock."

Subaru tapped the center of the table, projecting a series of glowing blue timeline bars across the map of Central Japan.

"My Lord, here is the exact calculation of our survival window," Subaru began, pointing to the easternmost marker.

"The Imagawa army has just integrated Matsudaira Motoyasu's five thousand Mikawa troops at Okazaki.

Because Yoshimoto insists on traveling with full imperial court protocols, their mobilization speed is restricted.

They are covering exactly four and a half ri per day."

He shifted his finger to the border fortresses of Washizu and Marune, located on the southeastern fringe of Owari.

"They will reach our forward border in exactly seventy-six hours.

When they arrive, Yoshimoto will not strike Kiyosu immediately.

His doctrine dictates a methodical encirclement.

He will order Motoyasu's Mikawa vanguard to assault our border outposts at Washizu and Marune to clear his flanks and forage for supplies."

Kinoshita Tokichirō leaned over the table, his sharp, intelligent eyes scanning the tactical lines.

"If Motoyasu strikes Washizu and Marune, those small fortresses will fall within six hours.

Their garrisons are less than five hundred men each.

If we send reinforcements from Kiyosu to save them, we play directly into Yoshimoto's hands, scattering our numbers across the open plains."

"We will not send a single soldier to reinforce them, Tokichirō," Subaru replied firmly, his words shocking the conservative officers in the room.

"We are going to use those fortresses as chronological bait.

I have already instructed the captains of Washizu and Marune to fight fiercely but methodically, using heavy barricades to stretch the siege into a twelve-hour engagement.

We are buying time with timber and earth."

Subaru pulled up the secondary timeline—the internal clock of the Oda clan's mobilization.

[ODA STRATEGIC MOBILIZATION TIMELINE]

PHASE 1 (0-24 Hours) : Complete grain extraction from southern plains (Niwa Nagahide).

PHASE 2 (24-48 Hours) : Sakuma Nobumori establishes a false retreat matrix at Nagoya.

PHASE 3 (48-72 Hours) : Concentrating the core 4,000 strike force inside Kiyosu hidden sectors.

PHASE 4 (72-76 Hours) : Waiting for the Atmospheric Anomaly (The Predicted Rainstorm).

Niwa Nagahide nodded slowly, his analytical mind tracking the logistical feasibility.

"The grain extraction is already seventy percent complete, Lord Subaru.

By the time the Imagawa scouts cross the border, they will find nothing but empty granaries and scorched fields.

They will be forced to rely entirely on their own stretched supply lines, which increases their reliance on the main highway."

"Excellent," Subaru said.

"Now, look at the geography.

Once Washizu and Marune fall, Yoshimoto will believe the Oda clan is entirely paralyzed by fear.

He will move his main pavilion off the main highway to rest and celebrate the opening victories.

Based on our topographical scans, there is only one location that offers both water and shade for a grand host of twenty-five thousand men near the border."

Subaru's finger dropped heavily onto a narrow, deep ravine flanked by dense forests and steep ridges.

"Okehazama," Lady Kichō whispered, her eyes widening as she recognized the tactical trap.

"It is a blind spot.

A narrow gorge where numbers mean nothing if an attack comes from the ridges above."

"Precisely," Subaru confirmed.

"But an ambush in Okehazama requires two absolute conditions.

First, the enemy must be completely blind to our movements.

Second, we must strike when their readiness is at its absolute lowest.

My prediction is at that time a massive, violent squall—a sudden summer torrential rainstorm—will hit the Okehazama region exactly eighty-two hours from now."

[SYSTEM ENVIRONMENTAL FORECAST: SYSTEM METEO]

TYPE: Localized Convective Flash Storm (Heavy Rain / High Winds)

TIME MATRIX: T-Minus 82 Hours

STRATEGIC EFFECT: Reduces enemy visual range to less than 5 paces. Muffles cavalry hoofbeats. Render enemy matchlock powder useless.

"A storm?" Sakuma Nobumori's voice rasped through the magical communication mirror from Nagoya Castle.

"You are staking the survival of our ancestral clan on the whims of the sky, Lord Subaru?

If that rain does not fall, our four thousand men will be charging down a ridge into a slaughterhouse of twenty-five thousand prepared spears."

"The rain will fall, Sakuma-sama," Subaru said, his voice ringing with absolute, unshakeable certainty that silenced the room.

"Our entire strategy is a mathematical equation.

We use seventy-six hours to concentrate our forces, we let Washizu and Marune buy us an extra twelve hours, and we strike at the exact moment the sky turns black."

Nobunaga slowly stood up from his cushion.

The room fell into a deathly silence as the Demon King walked to the edge of the map table, his eyes locked onto the tiny blue dot representing the gorge of Okehazama.

"Seventy-six hours," Nobunaga murmured, a cold, terrifying smile breaking across his features as his 102 LEAD filled the chamber with an overwhelming pressure.

"The whole world thinks I am trapped inside a cage.

They are counting the minutes until my execution.

But you have built me a clock, Ryu."

He reached out, his hand snapping down onto the table, shattering a wooden marker representing the Imagawa vanguard.

"Tell the men to sharpen their blades and eat their fill.

We are not defending these walls.

We are going to let Yoshimoto march into his own graveyard.

Let the clock tick."
