Chapter 8 - Wen's confusion

"SIT!" When Wen's intimidating speech got to Herig, his legs became so soft that leukemia washed his butt into the chair beside him. Herig found himself sitting in front of her desk, on her directing chair, which looks expensive like the one from his house; Herig was thinking about his own wealthy family and how formidable his background must have been; he only sees little of his father since he was a child until he reached youth, yet he never knows what his father does for a living, his mother hasn't been around him much like wise, all he knows is that his family always gets what he wants and Becky. When he was about to draw a comparison, he recalled the torment that was about to befall him. Worse, he pretended to know her but had no idea about her personality; he has never taken the time to learn anything about her, as other male students do; all he ever does is sit in on her class and attend to her lectures. Also in his subconscious mind was the lingering story about her that he had stored in his memory—the rumor that she was an ice queen. Herig examined her in his nerve tissue, his brain analyzing her, comparing the beauty in his face to the one reported to be cold and heartless. He couldn't dispute that she was a formidable opponent; aside from

She looks normal based on her cold demeanor.

"Are you Lin Herig?" "Right." The word "right" sounded when the first query was asked. More rhetorical flourishes in her sentences already sell her short, giving the idea that she was well aware of who he was. Wen stood in front of a bookcase that took up half of her large office, her jading finger rollercoaster on her chin. She appears to be a great scholar from ancient times, with collections of all the world's literature.

"Yes, I am," Herig responded, puzzled as to what had caused such nervousness; he didn't know, but the perplexing perception was the last thing he expected from her perspective of him.

He was never one to play games, so he responded promptly.

"Herig, I'll keep it brief and to the point. "Please extend your hand." Wen clouded over the table, shading Herig in her overshadowing auras that were now bearing down on him; Herig aversely drew his gaze away from the beaming flesh pushing out from her vintage dress, and she stooped; the allure was irresistible; it was wickedly begging for his attention. And she wasn't helping matters by reaching for his palm; her touch was tickling him. He wished to defy her in order to avoid the wonderful torment, but he could not. Herig was perplexed by her rash movement and awestruck by the power he sensed in her grips; the pad of her middle-index fingers rested on his wrist, like an invisible thread the invisible energy exuding from Wen's body following the distorted wave and expansion of the artery, attempting to monitor the contraction of Herig's heart's left ventricle.

A powerful throbbing followed the rhythmic expansion of the artery in Herig's wrist near the body's surface, where it crosses over his wrist bone.

The pulsing blood was delivering a rushing wave that no normal person could have.

"Uh!" Wen's expression was shockingly serious, masked by a rainbow of colors that ranged from astonishment to confusion, then back to normal. And just when she thought she hadn't dug deep enough, she found out that Herig's physique is more energetic than that of other practitioners. For some reason, she wasn't disappointed; she was even more delighted, but she didn't show it; her expression remained unchanged throughout. And Herig, as the genius-pig, became more troubled and anxious. "Stay still," Wen cautioned. "All right, you can go now." Herig was liberated of the heavenly disastrous pleasure, but it doesn't stop there. "Meet me here at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow," Wen said emphatically.

Why?" Herig couldn't help but inquire, but Wen refused to move or even respond. He sees himself at the entrance and exits the office.

Wen was lost in her thoughts and had no idea who her father was to Herig's mysterious parent. And why she has to transfer Herig to another school despite the fact that she has to resign in a month to care for him, and why the imbecile has acquired so much power inside him. All of this made no sense to her and only added to her confusion, "The Lin family are still mysterious after all."
