Archer and Lioren continued drinking, catching up after being apart for years. The lion man was assigned to Brightreef as its commander so he could get some rest from all the fighting he'd been undertaking during the Great War. When his friend heard this, he was surprised and thanked him.
''Thank you, brother,'' Lioren said, respect glinting in his eyes. ''This will give me and the girls some time to breathe.''
''I bet it will,'' he said, glancing at the palace bar hall where soldiers, maids, and gardeners mingled after work.
When Lioren saw this, he couldn't help but comment. ''You've managed to build something that we could only fantasize about back in the College of Magic, now I sit in the center of Thrylos with my best friend, who is the emperor.''
Archer laughed at his words but shook his head. ''We're not the only ones, Lio. There are people all around us, waiting to discover us, like I'm doing right now with the expeditions.''
''You what?'' his friend blurted out.
