Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 After the Fire comes the Storm

It had all become a blur for him. He was afraid he would have to go back, and who wouldn't if it was all they constantly had, a 'session' that always involved pain. So that you would never, ever, go against their wishes. So when he came back, he was lying somewhere dark. And that made him feel calm. But it was warmer than usual, and there was a blue fire a few feet away from him.

"So you finally woke up Kitten."

"What happen?"

"We escaped, no more session. Unless they find us again, which is why we will have to keep moving. We can't stay in the same area for too long."

She was holding a breath for a while, and she didn't know why but it was released when the kid finally woke up. Why did she worry she wondered, if he died she would have been set free. But then again, being underground and the size that she is with the huge chakra body she had would give away her location sooner than anything.

"How do you feel?"

"Feel fine."

"Are you hungry?"

"Yes."

"Go hunt for some food then."

". . . ."

". . . ."

"Hunt?"

Ah right. The kid was stupid, she will have to waste so much time training this kid to even be prepared to fight a Genin as those ninja ranks work. So much time wasted on how to breath as well probably, what would she even do. The kid is a visual learner so just explaining things would take double the time.

But. . .

She could train the kid to be loyal. Not just to her but the rest of her siblings. The kid clearly trusted her so she would have a field day with him the entire time.

But that is when she realized the kid did not know what water was and attacked his reflection out of fear.

"KITTEN GET OUT OF THERE!"

*Gurgling sounds*

Oh right the kid can't swim either. This will take a long time. But maybe it won't after all.

There was some light out by now, it was clear even through the clouds that were above the water. The kid managed to catch fish by some miracle, some being a single fish that was oddly large which had tried to eat him at first. The kid tried to eat it immediately out of the water but she had stopped him and told him to place the fish over the fire. It hadn't gone out, it had a constant stream of chakra going under it keeping it alive. The kid listened to her and waited unhappily until she said he can eat now. But of course there was more to it, he had to eat slowly as to not eat and of the fish's skeleton. Of course when he had felt she wasn't paying attention he ate the whole thing regardless, a sight horrifying to the eye yet a wonder to those who would have been there.

"Wha- Kitten how the Kami did you do that so quickly! I took my eyes off you for three minutes!"

"Hungry."

As surprising as it was, the kid looked happy. He hadn't been dragged off for a session, he finally ate until he was full, and there was no light coming. It was all perfect and he didn't want it to end. He just needed some water though, oh there is a big body of water there. Not that he thought those exact words but you can see where this is going.

"Kitten, stop. You can't drink that."

"Why not? It water, I drink water."

"Yes but that water is saltwater, it will not satisfy you but make you more thirsty no matter how much of it you drink."

That was the only way to stop him from being stupid at the moment, but even if she was to educate him, she couldn't teach him everything. She accepted the fact she didn't know too much about humans other than the fact they were monsters. But she knew she had to take him somewhere where he could learn, but teach him what She needs him to learn as well.

"Kitten I need you to listen to me carefully. That water, you have to go in it again but hold your breath for as long as you can and try to go up. And no don't drink the water."

The kid proceeds to pout. It would be adorable should their figure not be so disfigured. The kid still listens to her and goes in the water, though she miscalculated a few things. There was light, and the kid was still a kid.

Three things happened. The kid started to flail underwater as he still couldn't swim. He drank the water because kids will never listen to every order unless there is command in the voice of who spoke said order. The kid saw the light and immediately started to suffocate.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"OK, listen VERY carefully now. You go in the water, swim up like we practiced and the light will NOT harm you. You can trust me right? You do trust me, you have to trust me alright."

*Meek nod*

"Good, now go in there and do it right this time."

She got tired of it at the fourth attempt, she didn't like water either but she knew they had to move, it was not ideal for a kid to live in a cave under the water of an island. Even she knew that, so they spent the next hours attempting to swim, and at the sixth attempt it was finally time.

"Ok, on my count alright. One. Two."

Then there was rumbling.

"I forgot about that man, Kitten we have to go now and quick!"

She had lost track of time, and forgot that there was a man who was capable of holding her down, so they had to move quick and it had to be now.

"Kitten move now!"

He jumped in the water in fear of the rumbling and started to swim not to the surface, but straight ahead. Of course there was danger in the water, but the dangers had all swam off with the raging energy coming from the land. The kid was swimming quickly, but he was swimming in a cat like motion as that was the most effective way, that's what she told him at least. She called it the Kitty paddle, and never to call it a doggy paddle whatever a doggy or paddle was.

He had been swimming for what felt like hours and was very afraid, he couldn't tell if he was even moving but all he had was the reassurance from her voice. Her voice was the very first thing he heard, he remembers it well, he remembers everything that she taught to him, as he didn't want to disappoint. He memorized everything around him, because he believed she believed in him.

At some point he had grown too tired, and he had to surface many times, but he was exhausted no matter how many times she told him to continue, and the storm had formed in the sky, it was raining and he was cold. He was feeling a storm as well, because he didn't know what to believe anymore. Sure she got him out, but she sent him out into the light, there was rumbling, and she screamed at him whenever he did something wrong. He had two things going on, hypothermia and hyperventilating. So at some point, the last thing he heard from her was if you get caught by ninja after we get pic. . . up. . . urder yo. . . .elf.

And it all went black.
