Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: The betrayal

Conquering the demon king posed a difficult task. Many in our group endured injuries and near-fatal situations during battle with him. While some members suffered minor wounds, others had significant cuts and bruises.

Moreover, the demon king's power was beyond measure, and he had an army of evil minions that fought ferociously beside him. Our group had to stay alert and adapt quickly to the ever-changing situations in the battlefield.

But one thing was clear - we had to defeat the demon king at all costs. He was a threat not only to the world but to all the inhabitants of the universe. Hence, we fought with valor and determination, using our unique skills and weapons to the fullest extent possible.

The battle was long and grueling, but eventually, I succeeded in striking a fatal blow to the demon king's heart. With a deafening scream and an explosion of dark energy, he fell to the ground, motionless.

Our group let out a collective sigh of relief, but we still had to deal with the remaining minions. However, they were no match for us without their leader, and we were able to vanquish them quickly.

just as I was about to celebrate a sword pierced

Through my body, turning my head I was shocked to see my friend Chanler

Holding the handle of the long sword and the others over the dead bodies of Asha, Livi, Valentine and Mayla.

I was shocked to see this as I thought that they were my friends and yet here

They were stabbing me in the back. Chanler spoke" We knew you would be the one

To defeat him so we decided to betray you and take all the glory for ourselves." With a smug look

"We are sorry".

The others quickly apologized too, but I couldn't believe what I was hearing I wanted to scream out in anger, but all that came out of my mouth were tears.

My friends had turned against me.It was already too late,I had been betrayed by those who were supposed to be my comrades, a group of people whom I trusted with my life.

The pain from the sword was excruciating, but the pain from the betrayal hurt even more. I pulled the sword out of my body and stumbled back, taking in the scene before me. The once trusted group of friends was now my enemies, standing over the bodies of our fallen comrades.

Anger began to boil inside of me. How could they do this? How could they betray me and our mission? My eyes locked onto Chanler's and I could see no guilt in his eyes. He had been my closest friend I even saw him as a brother, we had fought side by side for years. And now, he had stabbed me in the back.

I gritted my teeth and stepped forward, my hand on my wound. "You will pay for this betrayal." I growled, my voice filled with anger and pain.

The others looked at me, shame etched into their faces. "Please, forgive us." Amelli begged.

But there was no turning back now. They had made their decision, and I had to make mine. I took a deep breath and lunged forward, my sword clashing against theirs in a fierce battle.

Their blade was heavier than mine, but I was more agile. We exchanged blows, parried attacks and dodged each other's strikes. The sound of metal clashing echoed through the air as we circled each other, searching for an opening.

After several minutes of intense fighting, I saw an opportunity and took it. With all my strength, I thrust my sword towards them, aiming for the heart. But they were quick and agile, and they managed to block my attack at the last second, sending me stumbling backwards.

Determined not to give up, I charged forward again, swinging my sword with renewed vigor. We battled fiercely; sweat pouring down our faces, our breathing ragged. It felt like an eternity had passed, but in reality, it was only a matter of minutes.

Finally, I saw another opening and lunged forward once more. This time, my aim was true, and my sword found its mark. My opponent stumbled backwards, gasping for breath, and then crumpled to the ground with a thud.

For a moment, I stood there, panting and sweating, my sword still raised. It was a hard-fought victory, but it was worth it. Somehow, I had managed to overcome the odds and emerge victorious. but not a moment too soon the others raynard fjord the combat master, baine hassle the warlock, marlo clayman the monk, amelli vicker the bard, vulpa stein the wizard

All five joined to help chanler kill me

I quickly surveyed their weapons and skills. Raynard was calm, his sword at the ready for battle. Baine had an ominous aura about him, intoning an unknown incantation. Marlo appeared to be prepared for a fight, bouncing on his toes with fists clenched. Amelli played an eerie tune on her lute while Vulpa crackled with arcane energy.

Lowering my sword, I asked if they will still kill me. Raynard replied

, "it's not personal, but you saw us kill the others."

I sighed, knowing that I couldn't talk my way out of this one. I readied my stance and prepared to face my comrades in battle. As the fight began, I knew that this would be one of the toughest battles of my life. Each of them was skilled in their own way, and they were determined to take me down.

Despite their best efforts, I managed to hold my own against them. We exchanged blows and spells, each trying to gain an advantage over the other. Finally, after what felt like hours, I had the upper hand. They were exhausted, and I was still going strong.

I lowered my sword and looked at them, seeing the exhaustion and defeat in their eyes. "Enough. It's over," I said, offering them a truce. "We've fought enough. Let's put this behind us, I am willing to let your betrayal slide so long as you all repent."

They hesitated at first, but still denied.

I sighed, knowing that this would not end peacefully. "Then it's your choice," I said sadly, and raised my sword once again. We continued fighting, but this time, I felt a sense of sadness and regret with each blow I delivered.

The fight was long and grueling, but in the end, I emerged victorious. The betrayers lay dead at my feet, and I crumbled to the ground, my hand still on my wound.

The aftermath was tough. I had lost friends and gained enemies. And I couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness and loss. I knew that I had done what I had to do.

But I knew that I had done the right thing. Betrayal could not go unpunished, and I would always fight for what was right. Even if it meant standing alone.

And now as I lay dying.

I know that my legacy will live on. My determination, my courage, and my unwavering sense of justice will inspire others to carry on the fight. I have cemented my place in history as a hero, and I am content knowing that I made a difference.

As my vision fades and my breathing slows, I hear a voice calling my name. It is the voice of a loved one, a comrade in arms. They rush to my side, cradling my head in their arms. Through the haze of pain and exhaustion, I whisper my final words.

"Tell them...tell them that I fought...for what...was right..."

And then, with a final gasp, I pass on - a fallen hero, but never forgotten.
