Ethan stood there for a few seconds , then he started walking around looking for anything else but all he could see is white, it's like someone painted the world white, there's no shadow , no outlining, nothing just white everywhere .
Ethan was looking everywhere in curiosity, even if there was nothing more but white everywhere, but this phenomena itself is something that makes him curious.
"Ahhm! I say kiddo, I can see you are curious but there are more important matters which need your attention!" , a voice boomed through the whole space it had no direction like the space was talking itself.
Ethan looked around and found nothing , so he guessed - 'i have read enough novels to know where it is going. hmm~ let's see, i got struck by lightning, i woke up in a space which is totally white, then an ancient voice talking to me and i can't see anything, the possibilities are-
1) i am dead and that's a god whom i meet after death.
2) i am alive but burned to the point that i am practically disabled with a few parts intact. So I am being used for some experiment which can't be done in the open'
3) i am -" are you done with your theories ?" , the voice asked.
"more or less, Yes, now i can spend more time thinking about where I am or what is happening, but i think it's better to go with the flow now, so tell me, where am i? who are you? what will happen to me? ", Ethan asked.
" me? hmm~ according to your world i would be called God, and this would be my domain or to be precise , the God's domain. ", the "God" answered.
"and for what will happen to you? well you just said you have the idea, still, it's the 1st option among your deductions , you are going to get "Isekaied"/"Transmigrated" or whatever you call it. now you can think, it's all some simulation and you are being experimented on or it's all real and i the 'God' does exist, but going deep in that thought will just bring you existential crisis, so i cleared your doubt beforehand. ", the God said.
" hmm, i thank you for that i guess. then? you said isekai? transmigration? where will i go? do i have a choice? and any advantages? like golden fingers? or other such things? ", Ethan asked.
" Normally, No! we remove all memories from soul, more like a reset, then send it towards it's new life, But! you! you have come to my domain, it even surprised me when you actually appeared, your soul, it has a strong desire for power, which is why i presume it was drawn towards me and.....well your death had something to do with me... ", the God said.
"hmm? what was that? i didn't heard the last part also isn't it the case for all humans, they all desire power" Ethan asked.
"ohh that's nothing really, don't worry about it.", God said as he tried to smoothly redirect the conversation, "also,they do, but you are special, normally my domain and the place where souls first go to get a reset is not close, the journey isn't something a weak soul can handle, normally if one has strong desire they don't have the soul quality to pass through the journey or if they do then that one doesn't have strong desire, one case or the other, but you, you had them both, and here we are. what i'm saying is that for you to reach my domain in a soul form going through that harsh journey, you deserve a gift from me " God replied.
"i see, now that feels good", Ethan laughed. he surely heard the last part but what's he gonna do? pick a fight against a god? and lose the gift he's now getting as a compensation also in the process? getting erased on top of it? nope! so it's better to use this opportunities for a greater future than play the dangerous game of blaming a god.
"now shall we start the process? you will be sent to a random world and because you were able to enter my domain, you have absorbed some of the power radiating here and there , now you won't be able to use that but i will tell you how to change it to give you some perks while visiting another world." God explained.
"Ok then, what are we waiting for ? " Ethan replied excitedly. 'i just hope my new world has some supernatural power which human can use, then it would be one step closer to my goal'.
"very well then", God nodded.

God snapped his finger and a wheel appeared, it had a pointer and countless names of different worlds and guess what, it even had anime worlds, 'wohoo'.
"go ahead, spin the wheel", God commanded.
Ethan went to the wheel and touched it and it started spinning fast, very fast, then all of a sudden it stopped on one name, Narutoverse.
"hmm, narutoverse it is then , now let me tell you how to gain your perks. i can actually give you the perks like those wishes you read in those stories, but i leave it to you as i am interested in what you will choose, he he he" God said with a creepy grin.
"i- i see, tell me then.", Ethan replied trying not to be bothered with the smile. "hmm, you see the power i use is more like pure energy, which governs over all the worlds, universes, multiverses etc. i am a being made from this energy but lower beings won't be able to wield it, they use different branches of this energy, there is mana, ki, spiritual energy etc. then there're magicians who use different dimensional energy which is also made from this pure form of energy, there are also "Gods" of different universes they use divinity and all, well this energy has countless forms depending on the universe. now that you will go to naruto world you have to get something that matches wih it.", God Explained.
"ok, how do i do that? ", Ethan asked. "simple, this energy is conscious and not conscious at the same time, the energy is already inside you, now you just have to ask for the powers you want and if the energy is sufficient, you will get it. go ahead.", God replied.
"hmm, ok let's see", Ethan started thinking in his mind.
'1st i want to have the power of devour, i should be able to devour anything which is lower level than me, like a living being lower level than me, i should be able to devour, be it human, plant, animal etc. after i devour i should be able to gain that person's knowledge, and his body and other factors should add to my power in the form of stats like strength, speed, constitution etc, their energy like chakra should increase my chakra reserve accordingly and their life force or whatever left of it in case of a corpse should add to my life span.'
suddenly the glow around his soul starts dimming rapidly. "what's happening?", Ethan frowned.
"it's ok, the energy is just transforming into your choice of power. so devour huh, that's- not in line with that world's power sytem but the energy will modify it accordingly. but let me tell you, when you are devouring something with consciousness, there will be resistance, the more the consciousness stronger the more the resistance . though it won't stop your devouring but it will slow it down, and you can't devour someone stronger than you.", God explained. "that much i guessed ", Ethan replied.
'hmm i don't have much left , 2nd i want to have photographic memory, 3rd my body , mind and soul should not have any upper limit, they should be adaptable so i won't have any problem integrating any form of power', Ethan wished. 'otherwise, what's the point of devouring power if i can't keep growing stronger and hit the ceiling', Ethan thought.
the glow dimmed again now Ethan's soul is more transparent. 'hmm, that's all, and other things i may want , wouldn't be possible with this much energy left from my observation.", Ethan said. "hmm, you still have some left, go ahead ask for something minor or it would just be taken while you get isekaied.", God said.
'4th, i would like to have a status board, nothing much just to tell me my stats, life span and all the techniques i get, my chakra nature and all. 5th, i would like the power of transformation, i want to be able to manipulate my body to take any form'
now all the glow vanished and his body became transparent. "huff, it's done then i guess? " Ethan asked God.
"it is, now just to satisfy my curiosity, you were very obsessed with immortality, why didn't you asked for it? although devour power can make you same as immortal as long as you continue devouring but still why not immortality straight? ", God asked curiously.
"aren't you supposed to be omniscient? " Ethan asked? "i am but you see, like me you are also child of this pure energy, this driving power which governs all, i am way more powerful but anything with soul has their own consciousness, and things get complicated from there, simple consciousness like animals are ok but the more advanced they are the more their thoughts are hard to read, well i can read your soul but that would just destroy it in the process, it's more like forceful entry, and humans are special in that way, in any world humans are the most adaptable species, thus their thoughts are more complex "
"ok, thanks for the information, well you see after all those research i don't want to take an easy path and really if i asked for immortality how much energy would it have taken?", Ethan asked "All of it.", God replied.
"there you have it, i don't want to be in a new world with nothing but immortality just to be test subject of some crazy researcher like orochimaru, i am a researcher myself so i can tell how we will act if such an immortal being appears in front of me" Ethan replied casually.
"hmm hmm~ you have a point, now just a small warning, and you will be good to go. the devour power is evil, well not evil, it's detested as evil in multiverse because it takes from others to make it the user's power. there weren't many users who used this power, as in the end they get devoured by their own desire to devour and tada~ you have a mindless being devouring everything in it's path . all of those users were killed, so best of luck, although your world doesn't have anyone who have the power to stop it if you grow your power constantly, if someday you reach that level where you can travel different universe then i would suggest to be careful", God warned him, his voice stern.
"i understand, thank you for the advice" Ethan replied seriously understanding the gravity of the warning and thinking about the information God just gave him.
"ok then, you will be born as a war orphan , same look as previous life , choose the time you want to be born",God said. "i would like to be born at the same time as kakashi " Ethan replied, "ok then, off you go~" God waved his hand and his vision went black.
"finallydone , this one was smart. show me something interesting boy, ha ha ha..." a booming laugh reverberated throughout the white space.
