"Dad? Why are you here?"
Ernesto didn't expect that he would meet his father in this place. Ernesto prepared himself for this day. He was wearing a nice suit, and he combed up his slightly white black hair, just to make a better impression. He even bought gifts for the kids.
Old Bradley scoffed and looked at his son who was acting strange.
"I should be the one asking that? You bastard-- Don't Tell me you already know about Keith but you didn't tell me. I can't believe that I have a son like you!"
"Dad, I just learned yesterday that Keith is living in this place. I swear."
"That's good to hear."
The father and son stopped their bantering and looked at Keith who was shocked as well.
Keith looked at Ernesto before averting his gaze.
Ernesto saw his son's action and looked down as well.
Both of them had complicated feelings for each other.
"Tch!" Old Bradley clicked his tongue at the scene.
"You ungrateful bunch! Stop being stubborn and talk! The problem will never be fixed if you don't talk."
He couldn't believe that his son and grandson were acting like a bunch of pussies!
"Keith, how about you take us to your house first?"
Knowing that the atmosphere was kind of awkward, Leah Castillo asked her son to make the first move.
"... Dad, Grandpa, let's go to the house."
Keith nodded and followed his mother's advice. It was already strange that they were talking in front of the house and causing a scene. Thankfully, there were no people who watched their antics.
Keith opened the gate. Then, just like usual, his daughter ran to him and hugged his leg.
"Dajjy!"
Sophia was always excited whenever Keith returned to the house. Every time Keith saw his daughter greeting him warmly, he would always smile.
"Hm, Daddy's back."
He carried her daughter and kissed her forehead. The little girl felt ticklish and giggled.
"Dad." Roman approached Keith as well.
"Hello, Roman." Keith chuckled and rubbed his son's hair, causing Roman to frown but he didn't stop him.
Ernesto and Bradley saw their interactions and they had complicated thoughts. They couldn't believe that they let Keith provide for his family alone, without their help.
Thankfully, it seemed that the kids were growing well.
"Dajjy, who are they?"
Sophia whispered in her father's ear. She recognized grandma Leah and she wanted to hug her grandma. However, there was a grumpy old-looking man next to Grandma Leah.
"Hello, Gwandma Leah!" Sophia waved her hands while in her father's embrace.
"Aww, my granddaughter is very cute." Leah almost squealed.
"Sophia, they are your grandfather and great-grandfather."
"Gwandfather? Gweat- gwandfather?"
Sophia was confused. She didn't know the difference between the two. She looked at her brother, hoping that Roman knew the difference between the two. Her brother was very smart even though he was quiet and serious all the time.
However, she realized that her brother didn't respond. Instead, Roman stared at Ernesto and Bradley.
"Ahem! I'm Ernesto. I'm your grandfather."
Ernesto sensed Roman's gaze and decided to introduce himself. Ernesto extended his hand, hoping that his grandson would take it.
"Hm, I heard about you from Uncle Sean and Uncle Jeremy. Grandma Leah talked about you as well."
Unfortunately for Ernesto, Roman just nodded and turned around.
Roman only glanced at Old Bradley before going to the house. He had to inform his mother about the visitors.
They became silent after Roman left just like that. Ernesto bitterly smiled. Thankfully, Leah was there to encourage him and make sure that he could do better.
As for Sophia, she was confused as to why her brother was acting strange right now. Anyway, she looked at Ernesto, she felt like she already met the old man.
"Ah! You're the old man yesterday!"
"Y- Yes." Ernesto stuttered. Quite happy that his granddaughter remembered him.
Sophia frowned when she recalled what her Mom said yesterday.
"Mommy said that I have to beware of strangers..."
She studied Ernesto, sometimes frowning.
"Sophia, baby, Grandpa Ernesto is not bad. He is my husband."
Leah explained to Sophia.
"Weally?"
"That's right."
Ernesto nervously nodded. This was the first time he experienced he became so much nervous. He was afraid to be hated by his one and only granddaughter.
"Alwight! Gwandma Leah said you're a good guy, so I'll trust you."
Sophia nodded as if she was acting like an adult.
Old Bradley watched the whole scene, slightly amused by Ernesto's action.
'At last, this bastard met his opponent.'
The oldest Castillo was satisfied.
Sophia then glanced at Old Bradley and he instinctively straightened his posture.
"Dajjy said you're my Gweat- gwandfa. Does that mean you're better than my Gwandfa here?"
"Of course! Little girl, I'm much better than my son, and I'm better than your Dad as well!" Old Bradley was confident in himself.
"... I don't bewieve you."
Sophia scoffed and turned around, she proceeded to hug her Dad.
"Dajjy is the best. No one can beat him!"
Hearing her response, Keith couldn't help but smile. He looked at his two living ancestors and grinned.
'Welp, what can I say? My daughter loves me.'
"..."
Seeing Keith's irritating smile, Ernesto and Bradley's lips twitched. In just the first meeting alone, they already lost.
"Torres, help my driver bring the gifts to the house."
Old Bradley agreed and decided to help his son this time. They decided to work together to get Sophia's affection!
"Okay, Sir."
The two drivers opened the trunk, Torres was dumbfounded when he realized that Ernesto was not joking. He bought so many gifts for the kids!
