Chapter 20 - Genin Evaluation Test 1

As the first light of dawn begins to creep over the horizon, a young ninja stands alone in a clearing, practicing his shuriken jutsu. The air is still and cool, and a faint mist clings to the ground.

Satoru murmured, "Here we go!"

His eyes are fixed on a wooden target some distance away, and in his hand, he holds a shuriken. He takes a deep breath and steadies himself, then with a flick of his wrist he sends the shuriken spinning through the air towards the target.

The environment around him is shrouded in an eerie silence. But this tranquility is soon interrupted by the sounds of whirling shuriken.

He deliberately throws the shuriken in an unconventional trajectory, purposely missing the target. He knows that this will allow him to practice a new jutsu that he has been perfecting.

'Tiger→Bird'

He quickly forms the hand seals for wind release jutsu, and channels his chakra into the technique.

"Wind Release: Rotating Shuriken "

Suddenly, the shuriken that had initially missed its mark begins to spin wildly, changing course with incredible speed and precision. His shuriken made a sharp turn mid-air, as if defying the laws of physics. With a satisfying thud, it buries itself deep in the wood of the target.

The Wind Release: Rotating Shuriken jutsu is a C-rank ninjutsu technique that allows the user to manipulate wind chakra in a unique way. By transmitting wind chakra to a shuriken, the user can greatly increase its slicing power. But that's not all - this jutsu also allows the user to alter the wind currents around the shuriken in mid-air, causing it to completely change direction in the blink of an eye. Imagine a shuriken flying at a high speed, only to suddenly turn 90 degrees and slice through the target from an unexpected angle. With this jutsu, one can master the art of surprise attacks and catching the opponents off-guard with Shuriken's unpredictable movements.

Satoru picks up his shuriken, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment at his newly mastered jutsu.

He had always held a strong belief in his shurikenjutsu skills, which led him to train in wind release techniques by imbuing his shurikens with wind chakra without the use of any hand signs. He spent countless hours practicing on his own, imbuing his shuriken with wind chakra and experimenting with different techniques. Although his early attempts were crude and unrefined, he persisted with unwavering determination, honing his skills day by day. It was this relentless dedication that caught the eye of his bukijutsu teacher, Ikkaku Umino.

Impressed by the Satoru's commitment to training, Ikkaku decided to take him under his wing and teach him the Wind Release: Rotating Shuriken jutsu, a technique that he had himself mastered during his Chunin days. With Ikkaku's guidance, the Satoru was able to learn the wind-release jutsu.

The sun slowly rises over the horizon, Satoru looks at his surroundings and realizes that it's time to go back home. He had been practicing for quite some time now, perfecting his skills in preparation for his Genin evaluation test. This was the moment he had been waiting for, the chance to prove himself worthy of becoming a full-fledged ninja.

As he walks back towards his home, he can't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. For the past year, he had meticulously followed his self-made training plan, pushing himself to the limit to prepare for this day. He had been wearing the heavy 85 kg sealed weights, pushing his physical limits to enhance his strength, speed, and agility.

But that was not all. He had also mastered the art of chakra nature change, a feat that was rare among academy students. Although he knew he still had a long way to go to perfect his wind release techniques, he was confident in his abilities. In addition, he had mastered the three basic ninjutsu techniques of substitution, transformation, and cloning.

His confidence in his theory subjects was unwavering. He possessed an exceptional memory, a skill he had honed during his college in his previous life when he spent hours memorizing even the most obscure information. His ability to retain information was a valuable asset, especially when it came to the theoretical subjects taught at the academy.

Satoru heard a voice calling out to him and turned to see his teacher, Ikkaku, walking towards him. "Good morning, sensei," Satoru greeted him with a smile.

"Good morning, Satoru. I hope you are doing well," Ikkaku replied.

Satoru nodded, "Yes, sensei. I was just heading home after my training."

"I see. How is your Wind Release technique coming along? Have you been practicing the Rotating Shuriken jutsu I taught you?" Ikkaku asked.

Satoru beamed with pride, "Yes, sensei. I have been practicing it every day."

Ikkaku nodded, "That's good to hear. By the way, are you ready for your Genin evaluation exam today?"

Satoru's confidence didn't waver as he replied, "Absolutely, sensei. I have prepared myself well and feel confident in my abilities."

Ikkaku smiled and patted him on the shoulder, "Good luck then, Satoru. I wish you all the best."

As Satoru walked away, Ikkaku watched him go with a sense of pride. "That kid is going places," he muttered to himself. "To learn a chakra nature change while still in the academy is no small feat." He couldn't help but think about the Will of Fire, the belief that has been passed down from generation to generation in Konoha.

It was a belief that Ikkaku held dear to his heart. The Will of Fire meant that it was the duty of the older generation to pass on their knowledge and wisdom to the younger generation. It was a duty that he had taken very seriously, not just as a teacher, but as a shinobi of Konoha. He had always tried to impart as much knowledge and skill as he could to his students, in the hopes that they would carry on the legacy of their ancestors and build a better future for themselves and for the village.

As he stood there lost in thought, Ikkaku realized that Satoru was not just any student. He was one of those special individuals who could make a real difference in the world. And Ikkaku was proud to have played a small part in shaping his destiny.

Satoru arrived home after his early morning training session. He could feel the sweat and dirt clinging to his skin, so he quickly headed to the bathroom to take a refreshing shower. After he was done, he put on his usual academy attire and headed to the kitchen to grab some breakfast. His mother Aina had already prepared his favorite meal, and Satoru eagerly dug in, enjoying the delicious taste of the food.

Just as Satoru was about to head out, Aina wished him good luck. Satoru turned to look at his parents, and his father Yamamoto simply nodded at him. It was his father's way of wishing him luck without saying a word.

Satoru sprinted towards the academy, relishing the familiar scenery that he had grown accustomed to. As he approached the entrance, he caught sight of three familiar silhouettes on the academy grounds.

One of the silhouettes was immediately recognizable as Kakashi - no surprise there. The second silhouette belonged to Raido Namiashi, who had also decided to take the genin evaluation test. Given that Raido was already 10 years old, it made sense that he wanted to graduate early. The third silhouette was Bob. It seemed that Bob had been inspired by Satoru and Raido's motivations to take the early genin evaluation as well.

He approached Bob and greeted him, noticing the evident signs of sleep deprivation etched onto his face. It seemed like poor Bob hadn't caught a wink in days!

Satoru: "Hey Bob, you look like you've been through a war. What's up with those bags under your eyes?"

Bob rubbed his eyes wearily: "I've been cramming for the genin evaluation test. It's tough trying to keep up with you geniuses."

Satoru smirked: "Well, maybe if you had some smarts like me, you wouldn't have to stay up all night studying."

Bob groaned: "Ugh, don't remind me. You're making me feel worse."

Satoru grinned: "Good luck with the test, Bob. You'll need it."

Bob grumbled but deep down he knew Satoru was right.

A few minutes later,

The exam has finally begun. The first exam was a theoretical test. Satoru took his seat in the examination hall and opened the test booklet. He glanced at the questions and found that they were quite challenging. The theoretical test covered a wide range of topics, including genjutsu, ninja survival techniques, and ninjutsu. Satoru knew he had to focus if he wanted to pass.

After completing the theoretical test, it was time for the practical exam. There were three different practical exams - one for ninjutsu, one for taijutsu, and one for bukijutsu. For the ninjutsu exam, students had to perform the three basic ninjutsu techniques. Satoru felt confident as he executed each jutsu flawlessly.

The next exam on the list was the taijutsu exam. This exam tested the basic movements and simple taijutsu techniques on a sparring dummy.

Finally, it was time for the bukijutsu exam. Satoru chose a weapon of his choice- 'shuriken' and began to demonstrate his skills. He had always been interested in shurikenjutsu and had spent countless hours practicing. His technique was fluid, and the judges were impressed by his mastery of the weapon.

As the exams came to an end, Satoru felt a sense of relief wash over him. He had done his best, and now all he could do was wait for the results.

Hours had passed and the tension in the air was palpable. Satoru, Kakashi, Raido, and Bob stood anxiously in the hallway of the ninja academy waiting for the results. Finally, an instructor appeared, and the four of them gathered around, holding their breaths.

"All four of you have passed," the instructor announced, and a wave of relief washed over them. Satoru could almost hear his friend Bob crying with tears of joy.

However, Satoru knew there was still one more hurdle to cross before they could become full-fledged genins. The advanced graduation meant they had to go through a Jonin evaluation as well.

The instructor continued, "Your Jonin evaluation will take place tomorrow at 9:00 am. Rest well and good luck."
