Chapter 8 - Stronger

Chapter: Rising Storms and Reverberating Shock

It had been a few months since I last reflected on my progress—and what a few months they had been.

My strength had grown exponentially. I could now go toe-to-toe with Rocks D. Xebec himself without feeling overwhelmed. The training, battles, and upgrades to my system had paid off. But that wasn't all—change was sweeping through the Navy.

The old Fleet Admiral had finally retired and been promoted to Commander of the Three Armies. In his place, one of the previous admirals had taken the mantle, while Vice Admiral Kong was promoted to admiral. It was a shift that shook the upper echelons of Marine leadership.

During these months, I'd been busy capturing pirates—dangerous ones, with bounties over a billion berries. Each victory sent shockwaves through the world, literally and figuratively, and my Shock System rewarded me generously. With over 20 million shock points now in my reserve, I had my eyes set on something monumental: the Bankai of Genryūsai Yamamoto from Bleach.

A legendary blade—Zanka no Tachi. As a swordsman, nothing could elevate me more than mastering that flame-cloaked power. But it wasn't cheap. I still needed another million points to purchase it.

The System Shop offered more than just swords or One Piece powers now. Qi cultivation, chakra pathways, even nen and stands—it was a multiverse of potential. But I was patient. I would invest only in what best suited my fighting style.

Even the Navy knew I was rising fast. Rumors had already begun: after the current Fleet Admiral, it would be Kong. And under him, the next three admirals would be Sengoku, Zefa, and myself. Garp refused promotion—he always did—and while Tsuru was brilliant, she lacked the sheer combat power needed to be an admiral.

Notable Powers of the Era

While most pirates were weak compared to the future Pirate Era, there were a few monsters on the seas now—true emperors in power and name.

Rocks D. Xebec, the monster of chaos.

Fujin, a titan of the seas, whose power rivaled what Whitebeard would one day become.

Emma, the maternal terror, nurturing yet devastating in battle—someone Garp and I had faced together, barely forcing her to retreat.

Yami, the youngest of the four, but already a storm brewing—his future was unpredictable.

And in the shadows, another figure was beginning to rise—Sai, cunning and ambitious.

After my clash with Emma, I had learned a valuable lesson. Immortality doesn't make you invincible. Strength had to be earned, ability forged. I began pushing myself even harder—upgrading my powers, planning for battles against the real monsters of the sea.

This wasn't just the story of another Marine.

This was the rise of Monkey D. Gojo, the one who would shock the world into justice.
