“Down girl!” Nadia snaps back to attention at the sound of Shai’s voice. “I get it, truly I do, but I’d rather not have you two going at it on my family room floor, yeah? The kids are around too.”
“Oh! No, I…sorry.” Nadia looks down in embarrassment. “I was just admiring Keiko’s beauty.”
Keiko blushes slightly. “Thank you Nadia, you look very dashing yourself.” Her blush deepens.
“Well, I think we all agree that you ladies all did a fantastic job. Zenith with the dress, Rika with hair and makeup and Triss with the fitting and etiquette lessons. I’d say you are sufficiently set to attend a fancy charity gala thrown by the Chancellor. Speaking of which, we’re going to be late.”
“Oh, look at the time, you all had best hurry! I didn’t realize it’d gotten this late already. Sorry.”
“No worries Triss, you can’t keep up with everything.” Shai plants a quick kiss on her forehead. “Are you sure you’re ok being here alone with Lou and Shino? I’m really not comfortable hon.”
