Ryan looked at Emily in his arms and gently squeeze her cheeks lovely.
"Thank you for everything Emily, I own you this one and I will forever be grateful" He said, smiling at her
"You don't have to own me anything Ryan, you are my best friend and I value our relationship" She said
"I know Emily, I also value our relationship but frankly you did alot for me and my family" He said honestly
"Ryan, I own you and your family especially you for being there for me when I had no one with me.. you said I occupied a special space in your life and gave you a chance of hope for a true friendship but no Ryan, you showed what a real family is.. I don't take it for granted but am grateful" She replied calmly with a little pain as she recall her experience back then
"I didn't do anything, I just wanted to help you then in my own little" He said softly to justify himself, he never wanted her to thank him for anything
"That's it Ryan, I just wanted to help you in any little way I can too and besides, I didn't know who you were before I started defending you in front of my boss then.. I only saw an innocent boy seeking for a place of rest and I thought I should just hep you out a little.. I respected you even before I got to know how special you are to me and even now, I respect you more Ryan so please don't thank me" She replied slowly
"I intend to keep showing my gratitude regardless of long speech Emily" He said, chuckled a little
"I knew you are very stubborn Ryan.. So how are you?.. I mean to say what about your story and wellbeing from the past and now?" She asked curiously
"You know it's my place to ask you that question right? you know so much about me but I know nothing, not even why your surname is Walton" He commented
"I...." She was cut off by a phone ringing.
They both checked the phone with them and realized the phone belongs to Ryan. Ryan checked the caller and saw his mother's name appears on his phone screen.
He took a bold step backward to pick the call
"Hello Mom.. what do you want again?" He asked sarcastically
"Is that the proper way to talk to your mother?" His mother replied calmly
"There's no proper way to talk to a mother who lied to her loved ones for jealousy sake" He replied
"And how many times will I apologize to you and your father yet you both still use that against me?" She yelled angrily
"That's because you will never change Mom" He said softly
"But I'm willing to change Ryan, trust me " she said calmly as she lower her voice
"The last time I did, I didn't gain anything from it.. Mom please stop this silly drama of yours and face the reality, learn to accept the truth" He replied coldly
"I accepted it Ryan, just give your mother another chance and please talk to your father" she pleaded
"Mom, you can talk to him yourself.. he is your husband for goodness sake and stop pestering me to change his mind for your sake" He said softly
"Ryan, you know how unfair you are right now.. I only needed this favour from you but you refused it and please tell me.. For what exactly?.. is it because of the mistake I made that nobody has ever done?"She asked coldly getting frustrated by his persistence
"You see, you haven't accepted the truth.. you are just one coldest human being who didn't think about other's feelings except herself.. tell me Mom, will it cause you anything to talk to your husband? No right?.. Then what happened?.. tell me Mom" He replied slowly
"You will not question me young man, I'm still your mother and I gave birth to you" She ordered coldly
"That's the only truth you intend to accept Mom.. What about the rest ma?" He asked
"I won't like to repeat myself Ryan, talk to your father now" She ordered angrily, raising her voice
"Well I'm sorry Mom but no" He replied coldly
"Did you just reject my order?" She yelled
"Mom please, just leave me alone.. I'm old enough to decide who to obey and disobey any order" He said
"Good.. now you are too old to obey me? because of that useless wrenched girl?" She yelled angrily
"That's your problem Mom, leave this girl alone and have peace of mind for once in you life since have met that girl.. what's your problem exactly?.. Did she kill any of your family members? .. imagine Mom, creating a rival with this innocent girl and you know the funniest part Mom.. This girl had no clue about your hatred for her so quit wasting your time and energy over useless things" He said and hung up. He looked at Emily for second and discover that she overheard his conversation with his mom
"I hope everything is fine Ryan?" Emily asked curiously
"Yes everything is fine, don't mind my mom " he said
"How is she first? is she discharged?" She asked calmly
"Yes Emily, she's currently at home feeling more energized than before.. let's go then, we definitely talk later Emily I promise" He said softly, pointed his hand forward to signal to move forward as he followed to his car. They both got inside the car quietly as Ryan start the car.
Emily saw an ice cream shop, she became so excited
"Ryan see that ice cream shop" She said excitedly
"Yes Emily I saw it, you've not change at all.. always all over ice cream" He said and stop the car. He signal the seller to come over.
"Please give us two chocolate flavor and please if I may ask, do you have chocolate?" He asked curiously
"Yes sir, I have everything you mentioned"
"Good, please pack the for me and tell me the price.. this chocolate baby here will skin me alive" He said jokily as the seller smiled, left them to get their order
"You know, you didn't really have to do that Ryan?" She commented calmly
"Well I have to Emily, no complains" He said softly
"Fine, I can't talk you out of it anyways so thank you Ryan.. I never knew you could recall what I love Ryan so thank you once again" She said.
"Imagining saying this much thank you without collecting your order Emily.. What would you do if you collect them ?" Ryan said jokily
"Get out Ryan.. is not funny " She replied. The seller brought the order and gave it to Emily. Ryan gave him money, thanked as he start the car.
