Chapter 32 - Seeds of Resolve

"You heard me, I'll be bait." Blake repeats, sending his point home.

"You should be able to follow up on it quite nicely considering you know, you can stop time." Blake coughs dramatically emphasizing his point.

"Your serious..." Morgan's says, dumbfounded expression filling his face.

"Watch me! Follow my lead this time." Blake says, humms emit out of his feet echoing across the cave. Sending a wink Morgan's way before rushing to build speed.

"I swear you're crazy." Morgan says, wiping a hand down his face.

Riding along the cave walls a green blur starts to illuminate the pitch black. Building up his speed he leaps off the wall heading straight for the enemy. Short platinum hair beams back at him.

"Let's see if you can handle this!" Blake yells out directing the built up force into a vertical spin slamming his heel down as hard as he can now. Stealing the move from Kiara.

*CRACK*

Pieces of titanium and carbon fiber crumble off his boots. As the green light reflects off the gleaming material. Diamond covered arms nullify all his force entirely. Sending it back at him in a devastating return of force.

"Almost got me." A stout muscular woman snorts, diamond skin reflecting the light around them with an intense shine. Her gaze casts down seeing nothing more then a fly in front of her.

"Don't announce your attack next time dipshit, that should be obvious!" She mocks, her skin returning to normal, smoothing out from the rough diamond it once was.

"Wait a minute you're that shitty non power user everyone keeps talking about, its been pouring down the grapevine for weeks now. People just won't shut up about you, guess ill have to make them." She laughs, cracking her diamond crusted knuckles.

"I'd like to see you try! I'm going to kick your ass." Blake smirks a rush of adrenaline starts to pump through his veins, his long fueled anger and resentment start to take over noticing reflections of his own past.

'This time will be different.' He mutters to himself expressionless, bhis focus only becoming shaper from the task at hand.

"The strong are the ones who get rewarded, the weak just get the scraps. Let me burn that pecking order into your mind." She says slamming her diamond covered knuckles into her palm repeatedly.

"Don't go crying to your father's grave after this. You'll get no comforting words from the dead." She scowls tightening her hand into a sharp diamond covered fist.

"What was that fools name everyone keeps going on about, Erik whatever?" Her cruel smirk penetrates into his mind, her gaze looking down on Blake as she slowly walks the distance between them hulking over him.

Like a nail to his mind emotions swell and surge forward in a violent storm. Amongst all of those emotions a boiling white hot fury familiar but alien to him starts to brew, erupting and spreading out from the deepest parts of him. Hibernation of a being disrupted by his intense forming rage.

"Fight...Fight...Destroy...win....How dare they insult us!" The beings' anger getting more and more vitriolic.

'Either you fight or I will!' An aggressive expression erupts in his mind like a flash of lightning painting face cracking through the darkness of his conscious mind, the same violent green energy starts to to swell and circulate inside his veins all around his body. in the midst of the rush his awareness is snapped toward a glaring set of unknown sharp eyes meet him piercing into him.

"Was already planning on it." Blake says, shuddering at the presence trying to fight off the terror and anxiety and refocus on the battle at hand.

His crumbling boots roar to back to life holding onto the desperate few embers left in them managing to rev back up into a strained but constant hum, skating forward his speed starts to build up rapidly pushing his boots far beyond their limit.

"The rats finally scurried out of they're little hole?" Her partner remarks sitting on a rock watching the battle with a wide smirk painted across her face, her chin tucked into her palm observing carefully.

In that moment his eyes catch their guards drop noticeably and he acts reacting snapping forward with a serpentine ferocity, an unfiltered stream of green electricity flows through the air from his prosthetics palm connecting with the girl's shoulder, searing through with ease leaving an erratic blackened bore hole.

"AHHHHHHHHH! He Just...attacked me!? I thought you said he didn't have a power Tina!" Her partner screams out, gripping at her shoulder trying to soothe the now searing pain branching through her.

"He doesn't Lana look at his arm." Tina deduces, noticing the electricity coming from Blakes prosthetic thinking she's seen through his parlor tricks.

"Of course! You know I am not surprised this fool has a few underhanded pathetic tricks up his sleeve." Lana seethes her voice filled with pain and agitation.

"GAH" Her fresh wound sends a stabbing sensation throughout her shoulder. As charred flesh flutters its way into her nose.

Charging the injured girl, Blake tenses up his triceps and biceps directing his muscles into one solid strike holding his fist low and ready trying to keep his fist in her blind spot. Lana's brown eyes watch him carefully trying to decipher Blakes next strike.

"You really thought you could just waltz in her and think everything would go your way!?" Tina laughs, before grinning with malevolence. Her fists shift into rough diamond replacing her smooth skin before slamming her knuckles together.

"Remember the name Tina as you struggle through your worthless life." She mocks, throwing a strong right straight for Blakes skull stepping into it sending the rotational force of her hips directly into her punch.

"I like to think it's the cunning ones that uproot everyone else." Blake retorts quietly staring daggers into the two of them his green eyes glowing with power, narrowly avoids the blow shifting his stance to the left reflexively subconsciously alien to him a response he barely even registers as his own, he just barely avoids the strike the diamond brushing past him managing to graze past only slicing of a few of his black strands.

"What are you babbling about you pathetic runt?" Lana scowls, sending intense waves of sound through her voice. Dense vibrations reverberate through the air. Crashing against Blake making his eardrums plead for mercy.

"NOW." Blake yells out as loud pressing his fingers into his ear and letting his vocal cords free without any restraint.

"You are one crazy bastard Blake I swear I've never seen someone willingly put all the risks on themselves." Morgan comments his own amazement breaking through his usual concern. With a snap ripples leave his fingers stopping time once again.

"We wouldn't have caught them off guard with this otherwise. Time to get my end done." Morgan sighs to himself moving out of his hiding spot and towards the the group, he watches Lana and Tina carefully frozen entirely in the moment in time, disgust washes over his face from Tinas earlier comment. Raising his left leg up slightly he surging his leg muscles with power before sending his body into a rotation slamming his shin square into Lana's motionless face.

A deep imprint of Morgan's shin and shoe is seen across Lana's face. Akin to a squashed jam donut frozen in place waiting to come pouring out at full throttle.

"ERRRRGGGGG." Morgan's face fills with anguish, bearing through the immense pain. His drawback kicking in almost immediately giving him an immense level of recoil returning part of his force back to him. Before the pain sets in he hobbles back to Blake turning his body around to face Tina who is right behind him with both of her hands interlaced ready to slam down on him.

"That one hurt like hell! I've done my part Blake now you do yours!" Morgan winces. The small bones in his feet begin to fracture. The recoil starting to build up even more like white hot shards of agony filling every one of his veins.

*Snap* With a struggled wince, ripples come flowing back into his fingers as the swing of time starts to return to to motion once more.

Blood starts to gush out of the Lana's nose smashed and flattened beyond recognition. She shudders as her mind shuts down unable to handle the intense sudden pain in her face, slumping to the floor as a pool of red begins to form around her face.

"Lana!" Tina screams ring out in the cave network.

"What did you do!?" Tina exclaims, tensing her hands into fists shifting them into a dense diamond.

"Ended the match." Blake says, a green spark leaving his darkened gaze.

"Ended the match, oh please. Your little toys couldn't even take a strike from me. You'll just continue to scurry around like the rat you are." Tina talks down to him seeing nothing but vermin.

Rushing forward she weaves her head past one of Blakes prepared strike. Her diamond covered knuckles reflect his face. Bone starts to crunch as her fist connects with his cheek.

*Spit* A wad of blood and mucus shoots out of his mouth splattering on the cave floor in a pool.

"I didn't hear no bell!" Blake mocks, wiping the blood off his lips staining the back of his hand.

"Bring it on!" He yells out his eyes brimming with defiance, clenching his fist tightly his eyes almost getting lost in the past seeing fragments in the blood staining the back of his hand.

"I'd be happy to." She smirks, sending a diamondized flurry of punches. Her fist finds its way through his defense's again striking him in the chest cracking more then a couple ribs in the process.

"BLAKE!" Morgan yells out a hand instinctively coming over his mouth, horrified by the brutality he's witnessing.

Forcing his eye open through the intense swelling blood, he traces his enemy through the tint of red in his vision. Successfully dodging the second blow he tries to back away to catch his breath.

*SLAM* Diamond knuckles connect hitting him in the side of his jaw in seconds he slumps down to his knees barely able to breath the pain akin to a deep spike shoved directly in his skull, the darkness of his mind starts to creep in suffocating him slowly.

Disorientation sweeps over him like a sandstorm. The world begins to sway back and forth in his vision. His equilibrium fully destroyed unable to even haul himself to his feet. His vision swirls and churns as his brain bounces around in his skull.

"Looks like it's time to put you to sleep boy" Tina says, sending both of her fists crashing down into him, the glint of the diamond filling his vision.

"My body won't move!" His legs remain stiff, unwilling to part from their spot, gravity pressing down on him through forming nausea.

'I can't! I can't react in time!' Dread fills his mind unable to process what's happening.

"Of course we can!" A low growl of a voice echoes out from the back of Blake's mind.

His body begins twisting on its own, narrowly avoiding the crippling slam. In the same motion he deliver's a fierce counterattack running his foot along the ground building momentum rapidly from the electromagnetics in his boots.

"Let me return the favor." Blake smiles wide with a laugh, an unsettling menacing smirk fills his face, alien to what he looked like earlier.

'what the hell happened, this doesn't seem like the same rat as before' Tinas gut screams out at her witnessing the drastic change in Blakes presence a slow unease starts to crawl up her spine.

Not breaking his gaze from Tina he stares her down with a smile coaxing her into coming closer. Before she can even register what is happening his body is already rotating on one leg before arcing the other straight into her unprotected jaw. Her waking mind shuts down in an instant with one fluid strike. Crumples to the floor as blood pools from her mouth convulsing slightly.

'Do better next time! Do you understand! i will not be defeated by some jarhead!' The voice dominates Blakes mind carrying an intense level of fury and anger before dissipating just as quickly as he appeared back into the murky blackness of his mind returning to its hibernation.

'I don't think ill ever get used to that...' Blake mutters to himself regaining control and sense of his body, left to pick up the pieces of what just happened.

'I had to be bailed out again by that thing again. I don't know if I should be happy or extremely worried at this point...' Blake's sighs, his thoughts ricocheting off the walls of his mind.

'Either way that just shows...I'm not strong enough yet.' He course corrects, his thoughts running through his synapses at a rapid rate from the cooling adrenaline, his fist clenching and unclenching at the confirming of his control.

"You, you actually took her out. That was one hell of a kick Blake!" Morgan cheers, filled with awe and bewilderment.

"I knew you had some hidden potential in you but I wasn't expecting this!" Morgan's arm finds its way around Blake's shoulder laughing through their rough victory.

"Yeah, it was a hell of a kick..." Blake says bewilderment clinging to his voice as he gets lost in the grooves of his palms trying to remember what that kick was even like and how he did it.
