The morning unfolded with the weight of Yael's somber news hanging in the air. "Jackson is better now, but Ziana isn't reacting to my treatment," he conveyed with a weariness that spoke volumes. Yael, who had tirelessly attended to them since the previous night's success, looked like he desperately needed some respite.

Sensing Yael's exhaustion, Lady Winter suggested gently, "You should get some rest." She then turned to Lia, her eyes conveying concern, "Lia will keep an eye on their progress."

Lia, her heart heavy with both the troubling news and her little brother's visibly pale condition, offered comfort, "Let me get you something to eat first." Yael nodded wearily, slumping beside Zayden on the couch. The study room, once a sanctuary of knowledge, now harbored an unsettling tension.

"How long will it take for her to recover?" Zayden asked, his usual composure shaken by the unforeseen turn of events. It was a situation unheard of—a defender falling ill right after awakening.
