"I-I wasn't running away," Ziana defended, slowly turning around. She shrugged off his hand from her hood, her heart pounding with uncertainty. "I forgot my phone in the room."
Zayden raised an eyebrow, leaning against the pillar. With his arms crossed, he glanced at her hand firmly clutching her phone. Ziana followed his gaze and cursed under her breath, her embarrassment evident as she blushed.
"It's the phone charger! I needed it since we might be away until afternoon."
"Hmm?" Zayden hummed, his questioning gaze making Ziana's heart race. "How do you plan to charge it in the woods?"
"It must be through direct solar energy, falling right onto your phone," he teased, and her cheeks flushed even redder.
"Yes!" Ziana grumbled, scowling at his remark. "Why do you care anyway?" Frustration laced her words, and her pointed nose only added to her adorable annoyance. Zayden resisted the urge to pinch her nose, instead, he playfully ruffled her hair before turning away.
