Chapter 99 - Chapter 98: The Final Battle

The sky above Corintopia darkened, as if the heavens themselves recoiled in fear from the forces that now collided within the ruined city. The once-proud stronghold, now reduced to dust and shadows, trembled beneath the intensity of the battle that had begun. Tel-Nu and Delson Snow Sr. faced each other, titans of unimaginable power, their gazes locked as the air between them crackled with energy.

Tel-Nu stood tall, the shadows still swirling around him, a god of destruction incarnate. His face, now revealed as Edgar Anderson's, betrayed no emotion, only the cold certainty of a being bound to fate's decree. In contrast, Delson Sr., the embodiment of Pride, radiated defiance. He had conquered the power of Gaia itself, merged with it, and now stood as the last hope for the Sinister 7.

For a moment, there was silence—a brief, terrifying calm before the storm.

Then, in an instant, they clashed.

The shockwave from their first impact rippled through the ground, splitting the earth beneath them. The force of their blows sent cracks racing across the landscape, causing entire mountains to crumble. Each punch, each kick, each surge of power shook the very foundations of the world. It was a battle of gods, and the earth struggled to survive their wrath.

Delson Sr. moved with a speed and precision that defied all logic, his body glowing with the power of Gaia. His fists, wreathed in golden energy, struck Tel-Nu with the force of a thousand suns, each blow aimed to shatter his enemy's defenses. He was relentless, his attacks driven by the pride of a man who refused to yield.

Tel-Nu, however, was no ordinary opponent. He moved through the shadows like water, his form shifting and twisting, avoiding the brunt of Delson's assaults with a grace that seemed otherworldly. His counters were swift and brutal, each strike infused with the weight of the universe itself. He fought without emotion, without anger, as if this battle was simply the fulfillment of his inevitable duty.

The two warriors danced across the battlefield, their blows causing the very air to ripple and tear. Buildings that had somehow survived the earlier destruction were reduced to rubble in an instant. The sky itself seemed to burn as streaks of light and darkness clashed, ripping through the atmosphere like celestial spears.

"You think you can stop me, Tel-Nu?" Delson roared, his voice booming across the horizon as he hurled a massive blast of energy at his foe. The golden light blazed like a star, growing larger as it hurtled toward Tel-Nu.

Tel-Nu raised a hand, the shadows coiling around his fingers as he absorbed the blast, diffusing its power into nothingness. His expression remained unchanged. "You're nothing but a remnant of a dying world, clinging to a false hope," Tel-Nu said, his voice calm, even as the earth crumbled beneath his feet.

Delson snarled, his pride flaring hotter than ever. "I am Gaia's chosen! The strongest being to ever walk this earth! I will not be defeated by you!"

With a roar, Delson surged forward again, his fists glowing brighter than before. He delivered a series of devastating strikes, each one shaking the core of the planet. Tel-Nu blocked and dodged, his movements precise, yet effortless.

The ground beneath them buckled, mountains collapsed into dust, and the oceans churned violently as their battle raged on. Entire continents trembled, as if the planet itself feared the outcome of this final confrontation.

Delson's power flared, and with a mighty leap, he launched himself into the sky, gathering the energy of Gaia into a single, devastating attack. His body blazed with golden light as he prepared to unleash the full force of his might.

"Die, Tel-Nu!" he shouted, hurling the enormous sphere of energy down toward his foe.

The attack tore through the sky like a comet, its light blinding, its heat incinerating everything in its path. As the energy sphere descended, it seemed as though the entire world held its breath.

Tel-Nu stood still, watching the incoming attack. At the last possible moment, he raised both hands, and with a mere flick of his wrist, he summoned the shadows around him. The dark tendrils surged upward, coiling around the energy sphere and devouring it, snuffing out its light like a candle in a storm.

Delson's eyes widened in disbelief as his ultimate attack was consumed. Before he could react, Tel-Nu appeared before him in a blur of motion. The harbinger's fist, wreathed in shadow, struck Delson square in the chest, sending him hurtling back to the ground.

The impact created a massive crater, the ground exploding outward as Delson crashed into the earth, his body skidding across the broken landscape. He groaned in pain, the wind knocked from his lungs. Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet, blood trickling from his mouth.

"You cannot defeat fate, Delson," Tel-Nu said, his voice as cold as the void. "This was always destined to happen."

Delson wiped the blood from his lip, his eyes blazing with fury. "I'll make my own fate!" he bellowed, his pride refusing to let him accept defeat. He charged forward once more, his fists glowing with renewed power, his heart filled with defiance.

But Tel-Nu was relentless.

They clashed again, and again, their blows shaking the heavens, their powers threatening to tear the world apart. But despite Delson's strength, despite his pride and his connection to Gaia, Tel-Nu remained an unmovable force. With each passing moment, Delson felt the weight of his own limits pressing down on him.

Tel-Nu's shadows lashed out, wrapping around Delson like serpents, constricting him, suffocating him. Delson struggled, his muscles straining as he tried to break free, but the more he fought, the tighter the shadows held him.

Tel-Nu stepped closer, his eyes glowing with cold, merciless light. "You were never meant to win," he said softly, his voice a whisper of doom. "Your pride has blinded you, Delson. You never saw the truth. You were always destined to fall."

With a final, crushing blow, Tel-Nu slammed his fist into Delson's chest, the force of the impact shaking the very core of the earth. Delson gasped as the air was knocked from his lungs, his body crumpling to the ground.

The world fell silent.

Tel-Nu stood over Delson's broken form, his eyes devoid of any emotion. The shadows around him seemed to whisper, as if mourning the end of an era.

Delson lay in the dirt, his once-great power fading, his pride shattered. He looked up at Tel-Nu, his vision blurring, his body trembling from the pain.

"How...?" Delson whispered, barely able to speak. "How could I...lose?"

Tel-Nu knelt beside him, his voice low, but filled with finality. "Pride always falls, Delson. That is the way of the universe."

And with that, the final chapter of the battle began to close.
