Chapter 32 - Hell Guardian

Slowly making our way through the forest we found decayed plants every so often making a good indicator of which direction the Hell Guardian resided. Entering into the depths of the forest we found a huge area filled with the stench of death. Suddenly the ground started shaking under our feet, quickly looking around I spotted the target. A giant undead dragon with barely any skin left on its bones. There were blue flames in the sockets where eyes once were. I patted Priscilla on the back saying, "Get ready. We're gonna attack as soon as it enters the clearing.".

She only nodded in response with a look of extreme fear on her face. The Dragon stopped suddenly and started looking around until it locked onto us. It roared with such force that some of the debris around us was sent flying. Priscilla suddenly went slack. I yelled, "You alright!".

She swung around to face me but something was wrong. A chill went up my spine when I saw her face. The light in her eyes was gone and she was growling like a feral animal. Horns started growing out of her head as she started her transformation growing bigger and bigger until her dragon form stood around forty feet tall and started emitting cold air that would put Arrion to shame. She spread her enormous white wings and roared with twice the power of the Hell Guardian, sending a shockwave through the forest knocking down or sending trees flying.

The Hell Guardians roar must have triggered her causing her to lose control but now I have to figure out how to subdue Priscilla without doing too much damage. The two dragons now faced each other and lowered closer to the ground before launching towards each other. The collision sent a shockwave as both dragons roared, Priscilla bit into the Hell Guardians neck but immediately let go. Blood was dripping from her mouth. She clawed the black dragon severing one of its arms but it roared, stopping its fall moving back into place. The Hell Guardian was toying with Priscilla allowing her to hit it. Jumping back all the frost she was emitting started gathering into her mouth. Noticing this the other dragon started doing the same with the deathly miasma. It took only seconds for them to release their breath .

I watched in slow motion as the attacks slammed into each other. The terrain around them was constantly decaying and freezing over. Neither of them were willing to give any ground. Priscilla's breath started condensing into a thin line pushing back the Guardian's breath. She took slow steps getting closer and closer to it until her breath cut through the other slicing the black dragon in half. I'm hoping this thing doesn't get back up but this was a little too easy even though Priscilla is impossibly strong. A red orb rolled out of its body giving off the same intimidating feeling as the Hell Guardian. I ran over to it, picking it up in one hand before a bright flash of light shot where the ball once was.

I felt wrong, my body was unbalanced while I stood there. Looking over I noticed not only was the ball destroyed but my left arm also evaporated. "ARGHHHHHH!", I screamed in agony.

I heard heavy footsteps closing in on me slowly and deliberately shaking the very ground she walked on. I yelled, "Priscilla! You have to snap out of it! You don't have to kill anymore!".

My words meant nothing as she stood above me charging another breath attack. Mina, I'm afraid I won't be seeing you again. I remembered all my friends' faces getting ready for death but it never fired. I looked up seeing a beautiful dark skinned warrior standing in front of me. Slowly rising to my feet I asked, "Do you mind lending a hand?".

She only nodded before charging in. I yelled, "Try not to kill her!".

Moving slowly at first and then started gaining speed. Moving near my top speed I went to deliver a punch to one of Priscilla's hind legs. Making contact I could feel the bones in my fist shatter. Her leg buckled from the force making her a little off balance. I delivered another punch to the front leg on the same side. Falling over put her head closer to where the mysterious warrior was. All it took was one punch from her straight to Priscilla's jaw and she was knocked out. Upon losing consciousness her body started shrinking back to normal.

Waiting for her to turn back I asked, "Who are you?".

The tanned girl mumbled, "Mako...".

And that was all she was willing to add to the conversation. I said, "Anyway, thanks for assisting Mako. Can you carry her?".

Mako gave a small nod before gently lifting Priscilla from the ground. I started making my way back towards the village. Arriving on the outskirts I noticed the entire town was out in the street dancing and celebrating. I stopped Mako before we got noticed and went into an abandoned house and flopped over letting the exhaustion take me.

I awoke to crying. Priscilla was overtop of me wailing, "Don't die Dad.", and, "Where's your other arm?".

Even when I opened my eyes she kept shaking me violently. I groaned, "Priscilla, please stop. The shaking is going to kill me. The Hell Guardian took my arm. Don't worry about it.".

A bright smile appeared across her face before giving me a vicelike hug. Returning the gesture I noticed Mako standing in the doorway with a chicken leg hanging out of her mouth. I asked her, "Do you have any more?".

Looking annoyed she turned toward us holding a huge plate full of food. She took a seat next to us, placing the food in the middle. I asked, "Where are you heading?".

Mako shrugged before pointing a finger towards me. I guessed, "You'd like to come with us.".

She gave a barely noticeable nod. I'm glad to welcome her. I would more than likely be dead if she hadn't showed up. Finishing the food I stretched a little before saying, "Let's go meet with the townsfolk.".
