"I heard that Gustav left the country. Is that true?" Emma asked after they finished dinner. Her posture was warm and calm, unlike Larsen's, Felix thought. There must have been different stakes for both of them. Larsen wanted to return to Gustav, and Emma…. Well, Felix wasn't sure about her.
"Did I forget to tell you about that? Sorry. Yes, he went to Poland. We ended up renovating a palace that once belonged to his grandmother's family."
Emma pulled down her eyebrows. She associated Poland only with the construction workers she saw sometimes. Well, and the fact that for some reason her brother had learned the language. She knew, of course, that Olaf Meiden's mother had Polish roots, but that didn't tell her anything. She, unlike her brother, was not involved in the affairs of this family.
