The light in the elevator reflected Samuel's rigid expression and dark gaze. Looking at Luna, he smirked. "Shy?"
Feeling cold as though she wore too little, she hugged her bag to keep herself warm. "Greetings, Mr. Brown," she repeated without stuttering.
Gabriel stroked her hair like an older brother and said, "Samuel, please stop staring at her. She may get too scared and wonder if she did offend you."
Glancing at Luna, Samuel responded quizzically, "How could a rich girl like her be afraid of someone's stare if she could easily treat you to a two thousand dollar meal?"
Luna couldn't believe that Samuel had heard it and even brought the matter up. She felt as though she got stabbed in the heart.
