There was always someone who would become the center of attention wherever they went.
When Samuel arrived, everyone's attention immediately turned to him. "Brown, you're finally here!"
Everyone stood up and greeted him.
From where she was crouching on the ground, Luna turned her head and saw the aloof man.
She stood up immediately and moved aside with her head lowered.
Samuel slowly entered the room as he glanced at her.
Instead of stopping in front of her, he went straight to the center of the room and sat down.
The tension behind his fingers became evident when he stubbed out the cigarette in the ashtray.
Everyone else sat down too.
Luna continued preparing the tea.
"Brown, where did you find this girl? She's not that good at making tea, but she's pretty," someone asked.
Samuel looked at the person unimpressed. It was the man who had told Luna to sit beside him.
He was Jake Botkins.
The other people chimed in too.
