Mr. Williams was stunned by his reply. He spoke cautiously to make sure his words did not offend him.
"Are... you serious?"
Dylan did not take it to heart since it all happened a long time ago. Whatever sadness he had felt had already been washed away.
"Yes." He nodded and continued, "After I was enlisted in the army, they got into an accident."
Dylan had an unusual family background. As far as he could remember, he was different from everyone else.
He underwent strict military education when he was just a young boy. There, he was taught to control his temperament. He could not cry nor laugh or show any bit of emotion.
He did all that diligently so that no one would say that he was an easy -going person or a loafer. If his father heard such remarks, he would definitely suffer the consequences.
He had a mother but could only show his affection for her in secret. After being suppressed for so long, he had forgotten how it felt to hug his mother.
