Lily sniffled and sobbed, "Your fault... What do you mean?"
Dylan's heart ached at the sound of her sob. He took out a piece of tissue and wiped her eyes, even though the tears had long dried up. His voice was gentle as a breeze as he said, "I shouldn't raise my voice at you."
Lily looked up and stared at him with teary eyes.
Dylan whispered, "You lied to me."
"I've already told you. I lied to you because we didn't start off as a couple. Me getting pregnant was an accident... It's not like I could just bring the child and come to you..."
"I will be responsible," he said.
"Who wants you to take the responsibility? It's not like I can't afford to raise them by myself. All I've wanted is to raise them with someone who loves me," Lily replied.
Dylan threw in suddenly, "I love you."
Lily decided not to harp on it anymore. After all, he had treated the kids as his own without knowing their identities.
"Why would you think of doing... a paternity test?" she asked.
