Daisy was holding the box of jewelry when she encountered Jackson and Nidia.
She graciously approached them and greeted them with a warm smile.
However, Jackson gave her a cold-eyed stare.
Nidia, who was standing next to Jackson, stayed silent.
Jackson spoke sarcastically. "Ms. Wilson, why are you swindling an old lady out of her savings? You should instead put your excellent acting skills to good use by doing film work."
It was a harsh, embarrassing statement.
Daisy understood what Jackson was hinting in between the lines. She explained hurriedly, "That's not it! These are Mrs. Cunningham's wedding gifts for me!"
Upon seeing Jackson's demeaning glare, Daisy became increasingly anxious.
