She was sweating as she never applied her archery skills infront of a crowd. The Royals sat down in the platform at the middle of the Archery grounds, Ayla saw Queen Fiona sad and it pains her to see that. The ladies from Egothedia sat down below the platform.
"Is that Ayla over there?" Mia asked as she pointed at her.
"I wonder why she is in the game" Hannah said as they all sat down.
"I never imagined that I'll be having a battle of arrows with you" Alexander said as he took her bow and gave it to her.
"Neither am I" Ayla said as she received it.
"Do you even know how to use that weapon?" Alexander smirked and Ayla just smiled at him.
The contest started but the first arrow is a trial and every player fixed their postures. As soon as the horn was blewn they released the arrow. Ayla was the only girl in the field and everyone was so sure that she'll loose but Princess Amanda cheered on her.
"Are you teaching your maids in archery?" Queen Fiona asked.
"Not actually true" Queen Alexandria said.
Ayla arrow was short in distance causing everyone to laugh at her skills.
"You should just back down Lady!" the boys shouted and Ayla just smiled at them.
"The contest starts now" She said as she turned deadly serious. The flags and the horn was ready and blew as every player released their arrows.
Ayla shot directly at the red paint in the middle which made everyone drop their mouths. They didn't know that it was just a scheme so that most of them will not tend to aim at the center as they expected her to loose in the first round.
"Have you forgotten? My father was a general" Ayla smirked as she took another bow while he looked at the Alexander's expression.
The royals and the ladies from Egothedia was amazed because five people was eliminated as they aimed a little far from the center.
"Is she one of your skilled ladies?" Queen Fiona asked.
"No, I loathe her and what do you mean skilled ladies?" Queen Alexandria asked.
"I know you have a private organization to seduce men and give you the information you want" Queen Fiona said as Alexandria was shocked because no one in the castle knows about her workers.
"Let's talk about that later" Queen Alexandria said as she was focused on Ayla.
Ayla continuously shot at the middle five times in a row eliminating tons of men.
"The maid Elijah brought is extraordinary" King Robert said as he focuses in the angle of her arms, and her posture.
"Robert, she can't be another potential mistress is she?" Queen Alexandria said with a very straight face.
"No~ she's to young" Robert said as he continue to judge her.
Queen Fiona was so focused to her and she can even see her husband as soon as she shoot the arrow. It reminded her when her husband was teaching her how to shoot an arrow, and that was the time she told him that she was pregnant with his child. It was a wonderful memory.
"It's clear now, you really are a spy" Alexander whispered to her.
"Why do you keep insisting that I am a spy? I loathe that country" Ayla told him.
"I don't know why you hate that country but it is where you came from. Did they sent you to eliminate us Royals?" Alexander said as it pierced directly at her heart.
"I thought we were getting closer and closer each day passes but I was wrong. Even how many times I tell you my real intentions, you keep overthinking about my identity" Ayla said as she was really disappointed at his sudden decision.
"There's a bad relationship between your country and mine. There will be no arguing whether or not your a spy, the fact that you came from Kaastiana and a daughter of a general is something considered as a threat to us" Alexander said as she shoot another arrow.
"Okay then" She replied and did not angle her shot.
"I apologize princess Amanda" Ayla look at her and shot her arrow which made her lose.
"You did great" Amanda said as she gave her a hug.
"At least we still placed second" She said smiling from ear to ear.
The Kings and Queens went to greet them.
"Ahhh! As usual my son is the best" King Robert said as he just stood there. As soon as he saw her, he quickly bring his hand out for her to shake.
"I am not worthy to shake your hand my king" She said as she bowed to him.
"You are worthy. Your talents are exquisite" He praised with a very wide smile. She slowly took her hand and the king looked at her in the eyes.
"Ayla? Am I right?" Queen Fiona said as she saved her from the king's tight grip.
"Yes your majesty" She said and kept her head down.
"I am curious about you. Are you free this evening?" The queen said and it made her smile from ear to ear. Her heart suddenly felt ticklish.
"I am!" Ayla excitingly said.
"You have such a stable aim and a perfect posture my lady" King Luke said as he kissed her hand.
"Thank you for the warm congratulations but prince Alexander won the contest and I don't deserve all your attention" Ayla said as she gracefully pointed at Alexander.
"Oh! Right! Congratulations" King Luke told his son coldly.
Ayla excused herself from the Royals and her girls immediately welcomed her to the pack.
"I didn't know that you are a magnificent archerer" Isabella said as they still praise her skills.
"You have many strong points and yet I can't sense any weakness present in you" Hannah said.
"Everyone has a weakness but they are not meant to be revealed by just anyone even your family, and friends. You should keep it to yourself because they might use it against you" Ayla said as she walk away.
She was in a deep thought that Alexander might report her as a spy from Kaastiana and that she will die without even finding her real parents.
