Chapter 738 - 81-85

Chapter 181: A Lesson

The voice, like a whisper from hell, reached the ears of the few people present, causing Liu Erlong to pause in her movements.

Turning her head, she saw Ning Bei slowly walking toward them.

"Brother!"

"Ning Bei, big brother!"

"Second Young Master!"

The younger members of Shrek saw Ning Bei's figure and immediately felt a sense of security, greeting him happily.

Liu Erlong frowned. She had never seen Ning Bei and didn't know his strength, failing to notice that Flanders had already started signaling her desperately with his eyes.

"Who are you? Dare to meddle in my business? Are you tired of living?"

It wasn't entirely Liu Erlong's fault. Ning Bei's appearance wasn't very convincing, and she was currently in a state of protective anger.

Ning Bei sneered at the brainless woman in front of him.

"The last person who spoke to me like that was smashed to pieces in Sunset Forest. The wind blows, and they're everywhere!"

"You—"

Before Liu Erlong could teach Ning Bei a lesson, Flanders, quick to react, covered her mouth and dragged her behind him. With a confused expression on her face, Liu Erlong watched as Flanders stepped forward and bowed ninety degrees to Ning Bei.

"Sir, my younger sister has some problems with her brain. I hope you don't take offense!"

"Brother Flanders, what are you—"

"Shut up and go stand in the back!"

Liu Erlong's question was cut off by Flanders's angry reprimand. She stared at Flanders in disbelief, unable to speak for a long time.

Ning Bei looked at Flanders with amusement. He had already witnessed Flanders's ability to humble himself back in Soto City. Since Flanders hadn't provoked him, Ning Bei had no intention of causing trouble.

To Ning Bei, people like Flanders were far better than the likes of the Great Master.

Meanwhile, the Great Master, who had caused the trouble, was now pretending to be an ostrich within his team.

"Don't you want to know how to surpass the limit when absorbing soul rings anymore?"

"Sir, you jest. We just mentioned it briefly. Whether it gets announced depends on the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School's decision. It was all a misunderstanding."

Flanders gave a nervous smile, beads of sweat covering his back. He felt that the pressure from Ning Bei was far more terrifying than two years ago, even greater than what Daming had ever given him!

"Hmph, a misunderstanding? You think you can brush it off just like that?"

"That..."

The cold sweat on Flanders's forehead flowed even more heavily, and the younger members of Shrek couldn't help but feel a sense of relief at the scene.

"Brother Flanders, why are you being so humble? Even if he has the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School behind him, my Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan isn't afraid of them!"

Flanders cursed inwardly, thinking: My dear younger sister, you really know how to put me in a bad spot!

He nervously glanced at Ning Bei, awkwardly smiling. Just as he was about to say something more, Ning Bei coldly laughed.

With a light tap of his foot on the ground, a faint blue halo spread out.

In an instant, Flanders and Liu Erlong were turned into ice sculptures. Through the ice, their eyes were vacant, completely bewildered by what had just happened.

"Wow, he also plays with ice, so cool!"

Shui Yue'er, one of the tall girls, exclaimed in awe, gazing at Ning Bei with admiration.

Shui Bing'er, feeling embarrassed, covered her face, gave a helpless glance at her younger sister, and quickly pulled her behind her, offering an apologetic smile toward Ning Bei.

Ning Bei smiled and didn't take it to heart.

"Dean, Teacher Erlong!"

The Shrek members immediately rushed to the two ice sculptures, panicking and stamping their feet.

Tang San, even more furious, glared at Ning Bei, probably already considering him to be someone who deserved to die.

Ning Bei, however, paid no attention to them and walked toward the younger members, nodding at them.

"Let's go!"

"Sir, they may have made mistakes, but their offenses don't deserve death. Why take such extreme measures?"

Yu Xiao Gang, seeing the situation, could no longer stay silent. He angrily stopped Ning Bei.

"Mistakes? They've done nothing wrong. They became like this purely because you have no strength and like to show off!"

"They're just getting what they deserve!"

Ning Bei turned around, disdainfully looking at the unlucky man and speaking with contempt in his tone.

"You... you aren't afraid of provoking a war between the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, letting the Spirit Hall benefit from it?"

"Pfft!"

The Great Master's frantic words made Ning Bei laugh out loud. After a moment of sneering, his expression turned cold.

"You think the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan will stand up for a waste like you?"

"Even if they do, I can tell you that even Yu Yuanzhen would become an ice sculpture if he came here."

"Don't worry though, I have no intention of killing them. When they can break free from the ice, it'll be up to their abilities."

After speaking, Ning Bei no longer paid attention to the furious faces of Shrek's members. He led the younger members toward the resting area. Just before entering, he turned around and spoke.

"By the way, a friendly reminder: don't touch it!"

"If it breaks, don't blame me for not warning you about missing arms and legs."

He closed the door to the resting area, and Xiao Wu, excited, came up to Ning Bei.

"Ning Bei, big brother, that felt so good! You have no idea how disgusting these people were just now."

"Ahem, we're doing this for the greater good of the continent!"

Xiao Wu continued to complain about Shrek's group, even mimicking the Great Master's tone, causing the younger members to burst out laughing.

In the resting room, Dugu Yan looked at the happy group in confusion, not understanding what had just happened. After asking Xiao Wu, she finally understood the situation, rolling her eyes and saying:

"Can't believe there are people like that. How unlucky!"

Xiao Wu nodded sympathetically.

"Tell me about it."

While joking around, Ning Rongrong quietly approached Ning Bei and whispered in his ear.

"Brother, didn't you hesitate to kill them because you were afraid of the god behind that sinister man?"

Ning Bei, after hearing his sister's question, gently shook his head and whispered back, "You'll understand later," and didn't elaborate.

In truth, Ning Bei hadn't killed Flanders and Liu Erlong for anything complicated. He simply didn't want to disrupt Qian Renxue's plans.

If Yu Yuanzhen got the idea to support Xue Qinghe because of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, ignoring everything else to support Xue Feng, it would create unnecessary trouble for the little angel.

Seeing her brother turn into a riddle, Ning Rongrong stomped her foot in frustration.

"If you're not going to say anything, then I don't want to know either!"

Ning Bei had no intention of coaxing her. Instead, he clapped his hands to get the younger members' attention.

"You performed well with the fusion skills. Keep it up!"

"Yes, Second Young Master!"

Outside, after much failed effort, the Shrek members could only leave Jiao Zhu to watch over the ice sculptures, while the rest followed the Great Master toward the arena.

Their turn to compete was about to come.

Passersby, seeing the two ice sculptures outside the resting area, stopped to look and whisper among themselves.

"How did the organizers manage to get two sculptures here?"

"Who knows? Maybe it's to showcase our Tiandou Empire's cultural refinement!"

"Maybe, it certainly has an artistic vibe to it."

Jiao Zhu, helpless, had to face the crowd's curiosity alone. She shyly hid behind the ice sculptures, trying to make herself invisible.

Her school uniform, already ugly enough, was now making her the sculpture manager!

Chapter 182: Preliminaries End

Yu Xiao Gang clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white as he walked into the arena with the students, his face stern.

He understood that his actions earlier had been somewhat reckless, but the method for absorbing soul rings beyond their optimal age was the only way to save his half-disabled disciple at this stage.

And those kids had no adults backing them up at the moment—this was the perfect opportunity. Otherwise, how could he ask for such a method in front of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School?

Before morally cornering Ning Rongrong and the others, he had already thought it through: once he learned the method for absorbing soul rings beyond the limit, he would make it public. Even if Ning Fengzhi and the others got angry, it would be impossible to punish everyone involved.

Moreover, both Liu Erlong and he had the backing of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, and Ning Fengzhi wouldn't make a fatal move over something that couldn't be undone.

Unfortunately, Ning Bei's appearance had disrupted all of his plans—truly sad and painful!

Although his mood was heavy, the competition had to go on, and luckily, this time Shrek wasn't facing a strong opponent.

The students, still burning with anger from the previous incident, easily defeated their opponents under Tang San's leadership, giving Shrek's team more confidence.

Liu Erlong and Flanders had remained as ice sculptures in the resting area for three whole days.

After the day's matches ended, the frost on both of them finally cracked in a spiderweb-like pattern, and then a burst of soul power erupted, causing the ice to shatter into powder.

Once freed, Liu Erlong shivered, exhaling cold mist, her eyes full of fury.

"That damn brat, I'm definitely going to get even!"

Flanders, who was also shivering from the cold, heard Liu Erlong's words and immediately trembled, his eyes filled with fear. He quickly tried to calm her down.

"Second sister, let's think this through carefully. We can't act rashly."

"Hmph!"

Liu Erlong was just venting her anger. Since Flanders had already given her an out, she naturally wouldn't be foolish enough to go to Ning Bei and offer herself up. After a cold snort, she turned her head away.

Due to Ning Bei's earlier words, the Great Master and the others didn't dare to even move Liu Erlong and Flanders to the resting area, fearing they might damage them and cause them to lose an arm or leg.

So, the two of them had been used as scenery for the other participants to admire for three whole days. Now that they had just been freed, they noticed many students walking by and pointing at them.

Both of them blushed and quickly scurried into the resting room.

"Dean, Teacher Erlong, you're out!"

Jiao Zhu, seeing the two enter the room, was filled with joy. She had suffered a lot these past few days, constantly having to peek outside to make sure no one damaged the ice sculptures.

Once the Shrek team returned to their rooms, there were more greetings. The opponents they had faced recently weren't particularly strong, and although the process was a bit rough at times, they had come through victorious.

Now, with a record of four wins and one loss, hearing the good news lifted Flanders and Liu Erlong's spirits, though their frustration was still there.

Compared to Shrek Academy's difficult victories, Tiandou Royal Academy's second team had been crushing their opponents with ease, and every match had been against formidable opponents.

It was unclear whether Sarath had intentionally made things difficult for them, but after facing Shrek and Tian Shui Academy, in the next three days, Tiandou Royal Academy's second team would be facing teams like Elephant Armored Academy, Plant Academy, and Divine Wind Academy.

They had already crossed paths with the major seed teams.

In the match against Elephant Armored Academy, Long Nianbing displayed incredible power.

The Earth Melody: Eternal Blade not only absorbed strength from the earth to create thousands of kitchen knives but also formed a barrier to absorb the enemy's soul power, primarily relying on the earth to absorb everything.

The clumsy Elephant Armored Academy had no solution for these barriers, and in the end, they exhausted their soul power and were defeated, with Long Nianbing finishing off half of them, Ning Rongrong counted as half.

This disappointed the enthusiastic Huyan Zhen, the leader of Elephant Armored Sect, who almost ground his teeth in the stands, glaring at Ning Fengzhi with malice.

The battle against Plant Academy was Nami's solo show. With Ning Rongrong's support, the massive tidal waves made the enemy students feel miserable. Before they even had the chance to release their seeds, they were all knocked off the stage.

This made the long-legged girls from Plant Academy angry, cursing as they left the arena, calling it bullying.

In contrast, Divine Wind Academy was much more cunning. After consulting with their lead teacher, they simply forfeited their match against Tiandou Royal Academy's second team, which caused the audience to erupt in boos.

Shouts rang out: "Refund!"

However, most of the other participants agreed with Divine Wind Academy's decision. They all followed suit, not wanting to waste energy fighting against a team of Soul Kings and risk wearing themselves out for future battles.

This led to the long-legged girls from Tian Shui Academy, who had already faced the second team, cursing the organizers for drawing such ridiculous lots. If they had faced them later, they could have preserved their strength.

Now, not only had their Martial Soul Fusion skill been revealed, but they hadn't even won. They couldn't even claim a dignified loss.

On the stands, Xue Ye and the little angel were delighted that their second team had easily advanced to the next stage.

But this made Xiao Wu incredibly frustrated. She had originally planned to give her teammates a chance to shine, but now, as soon as their opponents stepped onto the stage, they immediately called for forfeiture.

This left Xiao Wu with nowhere to vent her energy, and she was furious, yet helpless.

Finally, in the last match of the preliminaries, after their opponents called for forfeiture again, Xiao Wu couldn't take it anymore. She pointed at the Lightning Academy team and started cursing at them.

"Do you have any shame? You're supposed to be here to compete, not just forfeiting!"

Yu Tianxin, the captain of Lightning Academy, immediately turned red in the face, but he couldn't argue. He led his team back to the resting area, ignoring Xiao Wu's taunts.

Ning Rongrong, amused, stopped her sister, who was about to chase after them and continue insulting them, and comforted her.

"Alright, Xiao Wu, it's just the preliminaries. Everyone is just trying to get into the next stage, so it's understandable they want to preserve their strength."

"Hmph!"

Xiao Wu understood but still felt a little frustrated. This was a great opportunity to show off in front of Ning Bei, and it was wasted just like that.

Seemingly understanding her sister's thoughts, Ning Rongrong continued.

"Once we get to Soul Master City, it will be the real competition. There will be one-on-one Soul Battles, and you'll be the first to go up every time!"

Hearing this, Xiao Wu's rabbit ears stood up, excited.

"Really? If I meet these cowards again, Xiao Wu will definitely give them a set of Eight-Dan Throws!"

With Lightning Academy's forfeit, the host announced that Tiandou Royal Academy's second team had successfully advanced to the next stage as the first seed in the preliminaries. The audience erupted in applause, both in support of Tiandou Royal Academy's main team and in mockery of the teams that had forfeited early.

Chapter 183: Accompanying the Little Angel Back to Her Hometown

As the preliminaries came to a close, Ning Bei exchanged a glance with the little angel and nodded at her.

Back at the sect, Ning Bei directly sought out Ning Fengzhi.

"Father, you and Grandpa Bone, along with Grandpa Jian, should take the little ones to Soul Master City. I have something to take care of and will leave ahead of you."

"Oh? You mean…"

Ning Fengzhi paused, then seemed to realize Ning Bei was referring to his fourth divine trial. A deep worry appeared in his eyes.

Ning Bei nodded, confirming his father's guess, then comforted him.

"Don't worry, Father. I'm fully prepared, and nothing unexpected will happen."

"Well, then be careful. The Spirit Hall is no small matter…"

Hearing Ning Fengzhi prepare to go into a long explanation about the potential dangers, Ning Bei helplessly interrupted him.

"Rest assured, Father. Don't worry about my soul beast companions, and if it really gets tough, can't I just hide in the Ice God Hall?"

Ning Fengzhi's eyes lit up at the mention of the Ice God Hall. He had indeed forgotten that.

"Alright, I won't nag you. If you need any help, just ask."

After bidding farewell to Ning Fengzhi, Ning Bei headed toward the outskirts of Tiandou City, where a luxurious carriage was waiting for him.

"How was it? Did you talk to your father?"

"Huh? Isn't he our father?"

Qian Renxue sent him a playful glare and gave him a light tap.

"Can you stop trying to get the upper hand with your words?"

"Haha, no more jokes. I've already talked to him. What about you?"

Qian Renxue knew he was referring to Xue Ye and nodded.

"I've already arranged things with Xue Ye. He's going to Soul Master City to handle the team's lodging and training matters."

"That's good. Let's head out then, time to meet Grandpa!"

"Ugh, that's my grandpa!"

Seeing her man start with the jokes again, Qian Renxue smiled helplessly and scolded him.

The journey was uneventful, as many royal guards were accompanying them, so they couldn't fly directly to Soul Master City. They had to travel slowly with the caravan.

Ning Bei didn't mind. He got his share of jokes in, and when they had time, they even stopped by the Ice God Hall, so the trip wasn't boring at all.

By the evening of the second day, the gates of Soul Master City finally appeared on the horizon.

After Qian Renxue changed back into her Xue Qinghe disguise and gave instructions to her subordinates to handle the lodging and training arrangements, she led Ning Bei directly toward the Spirit Hall.

It had to be said that, as the holy land in the hearts of common soul masters across the continent, the Spirit Hall was quite magnificent.

The exquisitely towering city walls and the splendid palaces spoke volumes about the glory of this power. Compared to their own sect, the architecture here was less luxurious but carried a sense of dignity and solemnity.

Qian Renxue led Ning Bei through the front gates. After showing their worship tokens, they encountered no resistance and quietly made their way to a palace behind the main hall.

The palace was situated halfway up a mountain. The staircase seemed endless, and the towering buildings exuded a sense of reverence and sanctity.

"This is the Angel Temple, where my grandfather and a few of the elders live," Qian Renxue explained.

Ning Bei nodded, amused as he watched his girlfriend proudly introduce the place. He ruffled her hair with a smile.

"Let's go. Today, I'll accompany Xue'er through this dragon's den."

"Pfft, your family's the real dragon's den. Just make sure you show some respect later."

Qian Renxue slapped away his teasing hand and glared at him with mock annoyance. Then, with a serious face, she reminded him, "Just relax and stand shoulder to shoulder with us. I guarantee you, by the end, the elders will be begging me to marry you!"

"Ugh! Let go, let go! I won't joke anymore!"

"Hmph!"

With a soft snort, Qian Renxue dismissed the divine soul-killing lock and didn't give him another chance to joke around. She took his hand and led him up the stairs step by step.

"Can't we fly instead?"

"No, it's a sign of respect for the divine."

"I'm a divine too! You still won't stop your antics? And I don't see you respecting me!"

Seeing the little angel's forehead slowly heating up with extreme anger and her fingers itching again, Ning Bei offered a sincere smile and mimicked a zipper motion over his mouth.

With a final glare, the little angel continued her climb.

After nearly ten minutes, they reached the middle of the mountain, walking step by step in reverent silence.

The sacred palace appeared before them, its doors carved with angelic designs, marking the temple's ownership.

Perhaps feeling nervous about returning home or wanting to introduce her boyfriend to her elders, the little angel hesitated at the door, her hand stretching and pulling back several times without knocking.

Ning Bei rolled his eyes in exasperation, thinking it was like visiting the in-laws in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School.

"What are you doing? You've even wiped all the dust off the door!"

Taking a deep breath, the little angel turned and shot him a stern look.

"I'll say it again. When we go in, show some respect. Don't act like usual, and when you see Grandpa, you must…"

Seeing the little angel's continuous chatter without stopping, Ning Bei sighed in annoyance and then raised his head, shouting into the hall.

"Junior Ning Bei, here with my wife Qian Renxue to meet the elders!"

Qian Renxue's eyes widened in shock, staring at him as if he had gone mad. All the advice she had given was now swallowed in silence.

A divine soul-killing lock immediately came flying toward Ning Bei's waist.

"You're something else, aren't you? You really drive me crazy!"

Just as Qian Renxue was still scolding her man, the palace doors slowly opened, revealing the golden and ornate interior.

"Come in, Xue'er. You didn't even announce your return."

The voice was full of affection and longing, and it froze Qian Renxue in her tracks. Tears welled up in her eyes as she immediately ran toward the figure in the center of the room.

Ning Bei also took a deep breath and stepped into the hall.

"Grandpa!"

Qian Daoliu caught the rushing figure and gently patted her back, before glaring at Ning Bei, who was following.

"You brat, did you bully Xue'er?"

Ning Bei stared wide-eyed at himself, as if to say, "Me? Bully her? With me?"

Then, under Qian Daoliu's scrutinizing gaze, he expressionlessly lifted his shirt to reveal a patch of purple and blue bruises at his waist.

Seeing this, Qian Daoliu immediately turned his gaze away and awkwardly coughed twice.

Just as Qian Renxue, who had been lost in the reunion with her grandfather, looked up and hurriedly explained to her grandfather:

"No, Grandpa, the bad guy didn't bully me!"

Afterward, fearing that her grandfather might continue to blame her lover, she gave him a pleading smile.

Seeing this, a surge of unspoken frustration flared up in Qian Daoliu's heart. He hadn't dealt with the young man yet, and now Xue'er was already protecting him?

He turned his angry gaze back to Ning Bei, thinking to himself that he had to teach this brat a lesson.

Ning Bei sighed deeply, casting a helpless look at Qian Renxue. This explanation was practically adding fuel to the fire. Initially, the old man just wanted to intimidate him, but now, it seemed that a beating was inevitable.

With this thought, Ning Bei still respectfully cupped his hands.

"Junior Ning Bei, greetings to Grandpa Qian."

Chapter 184: All of You Here Are...

Qian Daoliu cast a complicated glance at Ning Bei. After several years, the divine aura surrounding him had grown even more intense. As expected, it seemed he had indeed gained the favor of the gods.

In terms of status, even Ning Bei surpassed him in some ways. He wasn't sure whether supporting Ning Bei and Xue'er together was right or wrong.

As Qian Daoliu's thoughts swirled, six figures appeared one by one beside the little angel and her grandfather.

"Xue'er, you're back!"

"You didn't even greet us; Grandpa was about to go meet you!"

The little angel broke free from Qian Daoliu's embrace and respectfully bowed to the two elders who spoke.

"Grandpa Two, Grandpa Three, Xue'er is back. Sorry to make you worry!"

The first elder to speak had a handsome face, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes—clearly, he was one of the three Elders of the Worship Hall, the Qing Luan Douluo.

The second elder, who spoke afterward, was a rough-looking black-haired man, identified by the little angel as the Second Elder, the Jin Crocodile Douluo.

Both Jin Crocodile and Qing Luan looked at Qian Renxue with joy, clearly happy to see their own child return.

After a few moments of polite exchange, all six of them turned their attention to Ning Bei in the center of the hall, their expressions turning stern.

Ning Bei immediately felt the pressure intensify around him. Clearly, these elders were very angry about his earlier words.

Though mentally prepared, Ning Bei didn't panic. He smiled at the group of elders, as if their oppressive presence didn't faze him.

It was only then that Qian Renxue realized the elders were putting her man in a difficult spot, and she began to panic, stamping her feet.

"Grandpa, please don't make things hard for him!"

It seemed as though the elders didn't hear her words and continued to increase their soul power pressure toward Ning Bei. They were eager to see what kind of abilities this young man had to dare claim to be the husband of their granddaughter!

After a long while, the elders simultaneously let out a light "Hmm?"

They were shocked to find that, no matter how much they increased their soul power pressure, Ning Bei remained unfazed, smiling back at them.

Seeing this, Qian Renxue let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, her man was as solid as steel.

She then stomped her foot angrily, her thoughts shifting. Since he dared to ignore her words, she had no more internal debate about whether to act. She would definitely show her elders how much she had grown!

Seeing that their attempt to pressure Ning Bei had failed, Qian Daoliu's eyes revealed a hint of admiration. This young man had grown so much in just a few years? The god's judgment was indeed extraordinary!

"Alright, stop!"

Qian Daoliu called off the pressure from his old friends, glancing at his angry granddaughter. He could tell that she was not pleased.

He then looked at Ning Bei with a calm expression.

"Young man, how far has your cultivation reached? I can't see through you anymore."

"Level 97. Still a bit away from 98."

"What?"

"You're kidding, right?"

Qian Jun and Jiang Mo, the twin brothers, looked at Ning Bei in disbelief. They couldn't imagine that a young man barely over twenty years old had already surpassed them in cultivation.

Ning Bei didn't bother with more words and summoned his spirit ring.

Two yellow, one purple, three black, and three red soul rings appeared in succession, and the fluctuation of soul power clearly indicated he was at level 97.

"This…"

Even Jin Crocodile and the others looked at Ning Bei with shock and awe. They couldn't help but feel that the one who had dared to speak boldly at the Angel Temple's gates really did have the strength to back it up!

Qian Renxue, seeing Ning Bei summon his Martial Soul and soul rings, couldn't help but show a proud smile, her beautiful eyes glancing slyly at her grandfathers, silently thinking, "Aren't you all going to praise my excellent taste?"

Among them, Qian Daoliu understood his granddaughter's temperament the best. He chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"My little Xue has great taste!"

When the little angel heard her grandfather's words, her eyes squinted with a smile, clearly pleased.

This was a side of her Ning Bei had never seen before. It seemed that only in front of the elders in the Worship Hall would the little angel reveal such a childlike side.

"Young man, where are you from?"

Jin Crocodile, after recovering from his shock, slowly asked about Ning Bei's background.

Ning Bei understood that this was a sign of preliminary approval.

"I'm from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School. My father is Ning Fengzhi."

"The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School? How did you and Xue'er come together?"

When Grandpa Two asked this question without any cover-up, Qian Renxue's face turned slightly red, and she shot Ning Bei a fierce glare.

Ning Bei scratched his head awkwardly and responded, "My father is a teacher to the crown prince, Xue'er. We met through that connection. As for how we ended up together, that's a young person's matter, and it's not really something I can explain!"

He said it politely, but the implication was clear: this was a young person's business, and the old folks should mind their own business.

The elders exchanged strange glances, noticing that Xue'er was fiddling nervously with her skirt, clearly not wanting to clarify things. They nodded knowingly.

Jin Crocodile shook his head and smiled, "Youth is so wonderful!"

"Well, if you don't want to explain, I won't press. But you should be aware of Xue'er's status. We have high expectations for her, and her husband cannot be a failure."

"Although your cultivation is impressive, it's still not enough!"

At this point, Ning Bei's heart stirred slightly. He understood that they were preparing to move on to the next round of tests. He cupped his hands toward them.

"I came here to meet the elders with Xue'er. The second reason is for the Fourth Divine Trial!"

At this, all but Qian Daoliu were slightly shocked.

"Divine Trial?"

"Yes, the Fourth Trial of the Ice God's Nine Trials: defeat six Title Douluo!"

Upon hearing Ning Bei's confirmation, the faces of the elders filled with admiration.

"Well done, young man. You're using us old guys as a stepping stone, huh?"

The Fierce Lion Douluo smiled, his soul power beginning to stir. Aside from the old friends in the Worship Hall, he hadn't faced a worthy opponent in a long time.

Qian Daoliu thought for a moment before looking at Ning Bei and asking, "Since that's the case, who do you want to challenge?"

Hearing Qian Daoliu's words, the elders straightened their chests, their eyes glowing with enthusiasm, as if all of them were saying, "Pick me!"

Ning Bei looked around, feeling a little hesitant about how to phrase his next words. Should he directly say, "I'm going to challenge you all"? Was that too rude?

"This… this…"

The hot-tempered Fierce Lion Douluo saw Ning Bei hesitating and immediately became frustrated.

"Just pick one! Are you afraid we'll think you're looking down on us? Stop hesitating!"

"Yeah, pick anyone you want. We won't say anything."

The previously silent Fifth Elder, Guang Ling, also showed interest, stepping forward to join the conversation.

Ning Bei scratched his head, a little embarrassed, and then spoke:

"Elders, you've misunderstood. I'm not targeting anyone. I just think all of you here are weak, so… how about you all come at me together?"

Chapter 185: The Elders' Test

As soon as Ning Bei finished speaking, the entire Angel Temple fell silent.

After a few seconds, the little angel couldn't hold back and let out a soft laugh, breaking the tension.

The elders, realizing what had just happened, looked at each other in disbelief, and after exchanging glances, the sound of gritted teeth and cracking knuckles filled the air.

"You brat, are you trying to make a fool of me?"

"Do you believe that I can slam you into the wall and make it so you can't get out?"

The Fierce Lion Douluo and Guang Ling stepped forward, their faces filled with anger, staring at Ning Bei.

Ning Bei acted as if he was frightened, gently patting his chest, then beckoning the two elders with his hand.

"Elders, feel free to try first."

The two elders, already enraged, couldn't tolerate this kind of provocation. The Fire Lion and Guang Ling's Divine Bow instantly appeared in their hands.

"Looks like Xue'er's judgment isn't flawless. Let me teach you some humility first."

"Third Soul Skill: High-Explosion Penetration!"

"Second Soul Skill: Explosive Flame Punch!"

Hundreds of fire lights clashed, turning into fists and arrows that charged toward Ning Bei.

Ning Bei remained calm. He gently tapped the ground with one foot, and the Everfrost Domain spread out. Instantly, the temperature in the Angel Temple dropped significantly.

The elders, who were ready to watch the show, froze in place, their expressions suddenly changing.

"God-level domain?"

As the firelights entered the domain, they were instantly frozen into ice and fell to the floor with a crisp sound.

The two elders couldn't believe it. Although they didn't think Ning Bei, a Level 97 Super Douluo, could easily be defeated by these two moves, they were shocked at how effortlessly he countered them. He hadn't even released his Martial Soul.

Before the two elders could recover, Ning Bei's figure suddenly vanished from the center of the hall.

The next moment, Guang Ling Douluo heard a familiar voice beside him.

"Elder, have you ever been kicked by light?"

The question made Guang Ling's pupils contract, and the other elders were also surprised. They hadn't noticed when Ning Bei had appeared there.

"Speed is weight, Light-Speed Kick!"

With a loud crash, the others turned to where Guang Ling was standing, but he was nowhere to be seen. The next moment, a violent explosion came from the distant wall.

Guang Ling had fulfilled his promise—he had been slammed into the wall and was now stuck inside, unable to escape.

"Sixth Soul Skill: Flame Lion Rampage!"

The Fierce Lion Douluo was quick to react. Seeing Guang Ling get sent flying, he immediately unleashed his Sixth Soul Skill, charging toward Ning Bei. A fiery lion, enveloped in flames, rushed at him.

"Radiant Wall."

When the fiery lion collided with the invisible wall in front of Ning Bei, it was like throwing a stone into water, creating waves.

However, it was unfortunate. The Radiant Wall's defense was simply too strong to be broken so easily.

When the fiery lion dissipated, Ning Bei pushed with one hand toward the Fierce Lion Douluo.

A lion, nearly twice the size of the previous one, charged toward the Fierce Lion Douluo, its mouth wide open to bite.

The Fierce Lion Douluo's pupils shrank. This young man's fighting style was truly peculiar.

He didn't have time to think further. He summoned a fire wall to block Ning Bei's attack.

"Fifth Soul Skill: Flame Barrier!"

The Fierce Lion Douluo's idea was good, but reality never matches expectations. Because the Radiant Wall reflected attacks, he misjudged the strength of his own soul skill.

With a thunderous crash, the Fierce Lion Douluo was thrown into the wall by his own attack.

"Well done, bad guy, that was awesome!"

"Uh…"

Seeing her man easily make the two elders eat dirt, Qian Renxue jumped up with excitement, waving her arms. But when she realized the situation wasn't quite right, she cleared her throat awkwardly and pretended to be embarrassed.

The elders, like Jin Crocodile, could only shake their heads at the sight.

At this moment, Guang Ling and the Fierce Lion Douluo broke free from the wall and appeared before Ning Bei again.

"Well done, little brat, you've got some skills!"

"Now I'm going to get serious!"

Just as the two of them were about to summon their Martial Souls' true forms, Ning Bei quickly stopped them, worried they might strain themselves.

"What? Are you admitting defeat?"

Ning Bei almost couldn't suppress his laughter. Was it really this easy?

"Not exactly. Elders, are you really planning to go all out right here?"

"Huh?"

The Fierce Lion Douluo and Guang Ling looked around, letting out a relieved sigh. Indeed, it wasn't appropriate to fight to the death in the Angel Temple.

"Let's go, to the canyon over there!"

The Fierce Lion Douluo, who had been given face earlier, was now eager to regain his dignity. He gestured to Ning Bei, ready to fly outside the Angel Temple.

"Elder, wait!"

"Huh?"

The others looked at him in confusion, not understanding what Ning Bei wanted to say.

"What's the matter? Speak up all at once."

The Fierce Lion Douluo's face darkened with anger as he glared at Ning Bei, who had been making things complicated.

"Elder, there's no need to go to such trouble."

Ning Bei turned to the other elders and the little angel.

"Please come over to me."

Although the elders were puzzled, they didn't ask questions and walked toward Ning Bei.

The little angel, sensing something, blushed slightly. She had an idea of what was coming.

Once everyone was ready, Ning Bei raised his hand, and they all appeared inside the Ice God Hall.

"What is this place?"

Qian Jun and Jiang Mo looked around at the icy architecture, completely bewildered, as they stood surrounded by Ning Bei.

"This is the Ice God Hall."

Ning Bei briefly explained, not wanting to go into too much detail about the origins of the place. He then turned to the other elders, cupping his hands and speaking.

"I've come with my wife to challenge the six elders. I ask for your challenge!"

"What?"

The Fierce Lion Douluo's eyes widened in shock as he blew out a puff of air, staring at Ning Bei.

Even Qian Daoliu looked at him in confusion. "You're looking for death, and now you're dragging little Xue'er, a Soul Saint, into it?"

"You brat, you really don't know the limits. I'm going to show you a lesson!"

"That's right. Don't think you've won just because you gained the upper hand earlier. I was just careless."

The faces of the Fierce Lion Douluo and Guang Ling twitched with anger. They had been in high positions for so many years, but they hadn't experienced such humiliation and anger in a long time.

Ning Bei sighed lightly, not planning to waste more time. He winked at Qian Renxue, and she immediately understood. She came forward to stand beside him.

Ning Bei took a deep breath, then handed several jade bottles to Qian Renxue.

The little angel, not new to taking enhancement pills, skillfully swallowed them, and her aura immediately surged, doubling in strength.

Although Qian Daoliu was puzzled, he didn't stop them. He was curious to see what the two of them were up to.

After Ning Bei took the battle enhancement pills, he nodded at the little angel. The Ice Empress appeared behind her, and six soul rings—three orange, three red—emerged in succession.

The little angel didn't hesitate anymore, and her Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul appeared behind her. Two yellow, two purple, and three black soul rings emerged.

The two of them then joined hands, their fingers interlocking, their eyes filled with nothing but each other's figures.

Qian Daoliu seemed to realize something, and his expression froze before slowly cracking.

"Martial Soul Fusion Skill?"
