Chapter 77 - 77 - SORRYYYY

E/N: I know you all might hate and just be dissatisfied by how this fanfic has been treated. Honestly, I am not writing this as an excuse but I just wanted to give an explanation to anyone who might want to read this piece again. I lost someone I had been with for a very long time and life got too serious with my university admission. Although an important part, I could not focus on this at all.

I don't make any excuses and would understand if no one wants to read the edited version anymore. My life is much better now and I actually want to do what I can.

"Is this really holy water?"

Seeing the blond man suddenly set himself on fire, Lorna opened her mouth slightly.

Derrick proudly said, "Yes, this is the holy water I personally prepared. The exorcism effect is amazing."

He wasn't lying. This cup of holy water was indeed prepared by himself, though he had infused the whiskey with a little bit of mana.

And judging by the results, Derrick wasn't unsatisfied at all.

After killing the three vampires, Derrick could feel the mana within his body increase significantly.

Derrick turned his head toward the bar, and suddenly an idea came to mind.

"Green Goblin, do you want some money?" [E/N: Lorna has green hair so the name Green Goblin.]

Derrick grabbed the thousand dollars the blond man had given him and waved it in front of Lorna like a dog showing off a bone.

Lorna's eyelids twitched. She gritted her teeth and said, "My name is Lorna, not 'Green Goblin'!"

"Sounds the same."

Derrick continued waving the money around with a smile.

"You seem to be able to control metal. Why don't we cooperate? Then we'll split the profits fifty-fifty."

Seeing that Derrick didn't seem to care about her being a Mutant at all, Lorna felt a little more relaxed.

To be honest, she had been worried that Derrick might report her. After all, many ordinary people discriminated against Mutants.

Lorna also wasn't completely sure whether Derrick belonged to that category at all.

Lorna crossed her arms and said, "What do you want to do? Let's make one thing clear first. I won't do anything illegal."

"Good lord. I'm a priest. How could I do something illegal?"

Derrick looked at Lorna with an absurd expression, thinking that she must have misunderstood him.

"Don't worry. It's something simple. You won't even realize you're helping me."

"Alright."

Derrick returned to the bar.

"Good evening, sir. If I could take a moment of your time, I would like to speak to you about our Lord."

A man was looking around the bar when he suddenly noticed a priest wearing sunglasses approaching him.

Derrick's body swayed along with the music as he spoke in a strangely rhythmic tone.

The man was speechless.

He didn't know whether the priest wasn't doing his job properly or was doing it too well.

He concluded it was the first option since the priest was having this much fun in a bar.

"If you think I am not doing a good job, do remember I am so dedicated that I never forget to preach to others even while enjoying myself."

Faced with a stranger suddenly approaching him, the man didn't show any impatience. Instead, he smiled strangely.

"Of course not. I happen to be very interested in the Lord. Why don't we go somewhere quieter and talk in detail?"

"Okay, sir. Follow me."

Derrick walked away with his shoulder moving to the music, while the man followed behind him with a smile.

When they reached a corner of the bar, the man narrowed his eyes and glanced around, checking whether anyone was already preparing a trap.

However, Derrick quickly took a step forward.

He looked around like a thief.

Just as the man was feeling puzzled, he suddenly felt his limbs tighten.

His hands and feet were tightly bound by metal objects, and even his neck was locked in place by an iron rod.

The man's expression immediately turned panicked. He had no idea what was happening and could only stare at the priest in front of him.

"Father, what does this mean?"

"Don't worry. These are just some necessary means of preaching in our church. Nothing unusual."

"Uh... then why are you taking my wallet, Father?"

Derrick took the man's wallet and took out all the banknotes.

"This is your baptism. It represents the elimination of original sin, along with all its punishments."

Derrick nodded solemnly.

"And money is the root of all evil. Having this in your pockets is a serious sin. I've helped you get rid of it, so you don't need to thank me."

The man was burning with anger. However, he glanced at the pile of ashes in the corner.

His expression immediately changed into what he believed was the most friendly and sincere smile he had shown his entire life.

"Thank you, Father. You're truly amazing."

The man swallowed nervously.

"Now, could you tell me more about the Lord? I can't wait to hear it."

Derrick smiled slightly.

"If you are that curious, I'll send you to Him right now. He can tell you best about Himself."

Under the man's terrified gaze, Derrick raised a metal dagger infused with mana and stabbed it into the man's head.

The man didn't even have time to scream before his entire body was reduced to a pile of ashes.

Derrick turned toward the corner.

"Green Goblin, come out and clean the floor."

"I've said it so many times! My name is Lorna! Lorna!"

Lorna stepped out from the corner.

A green light glowed at her fingertips as she skillfully controlled a broom with a metal handle, sweeping the ashes on the ground into the corner.

"Same thing."

Derrick smiled and handed half of the money in his hand to Lorna.

"According to our agreement, fifty-fifty."

Derrick glanced around the bar with a happy expression.

"That guy Deacon Frost is a good guy. He actually set up such a perfect place for us. These vampires come here by their own choice."

He grinned.

"This one made me a killing!"

'This greedy bastard definitely wasn't here to exorcise demons!' Lorna thought to herself.

She scoffed at his behavior. Then she lowered her head and counted the banknotes in her own hand.

She was not greedy. She just couldn't trust this priest with such a terrible personality.

"What number was this one?"

Derrick did some calculations.

This was already the thirteenth vampire they had secretly killed today.

During his killings, Derrick's mana had increased by roughly one-tenth of its original amount.

Derrick waved his hand.

"Keep going. Let's grind this dungeon all night tonight. Whoever gives up first is a bitch!"

"I'm hurrying up," Lorna said impatiently. "If it wasn't for the money... Ahem."

"I'm only doing this for the sake of solving the vampire problem and eliminating harmful elements of society. Otherwise, I would have gone home to rest a long time ago."

Derrick nodded and continued searching through the bar for his next target.

"Sir, if I could take a moment of your time, I would like to speak to you about our great Lord and Savior..."

.

Meanwhile, at a huge villa...

A blonde young man was sitting beside a swimming pool.

He held a wine glass in his hand, casually shaking the blood-red liquid inside it. His posture was filled with the pretentious elegance of an aristocrat.

Two women with blood-red pupils lay beside him.

The fangs in their mouths were stained with scarlet blood as they pressed themselves against the young man.

At this moment, a muscular man walked over and leaned toward the young man's ear.

"Mr. Frost, there's a problem with one of our properties..."

Under the faint light, Deacon Frost's skin appeared extremely pale.

He took a sip of the blood-red liquid in his glass and lazily asked,

"What's the problem this time? Did those idiots get caught eating in front of the guests, or did someone cause trouble that attracted the police?"

He wasn't surprised. Something like this happened in his business every once in a while.

However, Deacon wasn't worried. He had his guys even in the police. They were the ones who were willing to sell their souls to become vampires and gain immortality.

In Deacon's eyes, vampires were the superior race. Humans were nothing more than their slaves and food.

The muscular man shook his head.

"No. Our men discovered that many vampires in the bar have suddenly disappeared."

Hearing this, a bloodthirsty gleam flashed through Deacon's eyes.

He immediately pushed the two women away and stared at the muscular man.

"What's going on? Did the Daywalker appear again?"

"It's not clear. All the surveillance cameras in the bar were damaged, and we couldn't find out exactly what happened."

The muscular man hesitated before continuing.

"However, according to the guests at the bar, some people seemed to have seen a broom sweeping dust in the corner that night. Others heard something about a priest."

He swallowed.

"On top of that, as I said, a large number of vampires suddenly disappeared from the bar..."

The muscular man's expression became strange.

"Nowadays, there's even a rumor going around about a witch with a long nose and green skin. The vampires are worried that some witch is hunting them, so they're too scared to come to our bar."

Deacon's expression froze. His face was filled with the expression of someone who had just heard the stupidest thing in the world.

Deacon took a deep breath.

"What about the humans? Were they also scared away by this so-called witch?"

"Not at all."

The muscular man shook his head.

"After hearing about this legend of the witch, those humans started coming to the bar even more often. Every day, some YouTube celebrity would come to our bar to shoot videos just to witness the legendary witch with their own eyes."

He shrugged.

"Then they upload the videos to their YouTube accounts to attract fans."

Deacon : "..."

The muscular man continued.

"Mr. Frost, the daily profits from our bar are almost greater than the combined profits of our other businesses. The family suggested that we turn the bar into an internet celebrity bar and hire some famous YouTube influencers to make some videos."

"There could even be live broadcasts from inside the store."

The corner of Deacon's mouth twitched.

He liked the business venture, but he could not bear the idea of paying humans to work for him.
