Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

The loud crash drew everyone's attention to the window. Where there was a fender bender in the street someone had slowed down looking for a parking space. When the person behind them was not paying enough attention to what was going on around them and crashed into the rear end of the other car.

Ron had been looking out the window and had seen the whole thing happen. In fact, he knew that it was going to happen moments before it did. He saw the old couple moving slowly and he could tell that they were just looking for a close place to park so that they would not have to walk that far. He also saw that the other driver was more worried about putting on some makeup to pay attention to what was going on in the street. From the looks of her car, this was not the first time that she had had an accident, and since this one was so minor, he doubted that she would learn anything from it, and it would happen again.

Since it was such a minor accident it was not long before everyone's attention was no longer looking at it. Sheryl said, "I will go place your orders and have them right out."

Sheryl looked right into Ron's eyes and asked, "Do you want anything else?"

Diana thought dam this slut really wants a fuck or something. They both answered at the same time. "No."

Diana had to smile when they both replied at the same time telling her no. She was liking the fact that Ron was not falling all over her even though she could tell how hard she was throwing herself at him.

Diana picked up her phone and got ready to start her calls when Ron placed his hand on it and shook his head. Letting her know that she needed to wait yet. There was no way that he wanted the nosy waitress to try to see what they were doing. Even if they had already told her that they were looking for Tina. Diana looked up at him surprised but she nodded. It was not like she could wait until no one, but Ron was trying to read what she was texting.

Diana looked back out the window and saw that the girl was in tears and the old couple was consoling her for the way it looked all the damage from the accident wound up on the girl's car and it was no more than a pushed-in front bumper. Diana thought that the girl was crying harder than she really needed to. She was trying to make the old couple feel bad for her. So that they wouldn't call the cops and report the accident. Especially since there was no damage to their car, and it was only a pushed-in bumper on hers.

Diana had to admit if it had been her that hit them, she would have been trying to do the same thing.

It was not long before here came Sheryl carrying their breakfast along with a fresh pot of coffee to freshen up their cups. She put on the biggest smile and made sure that she bent over farther than she had to serve Ron his food. Ron just gave her a little smile as he shook his head and thought that he wouldn't be coming back to this place again anytime soon. If he did come back, he knew that he better bring protection. If she was acting this horny first thing in the morning, he wondered how bad she would get by supper time.

Sheryl gave a little smile to Diana as she sat down her food. When she noticed that she was not happy. It was not that she was sad and crying this time. She was visibly mad, and it looked like she was mad at her. She realized that she might be upset because she was flirting with Ron. She didn't know why she should be upset with her flirting with her cousin she knew that she didn't belong to one of those families or at least she didn't think that she did. Then she thought that it just must be the fact that she is flirting period.

Sheryl normally didn't care what the other women thought about her, or her flirting. June was one of her regular customers, and she knew that she pulled a lot of weight with the other society women. She could stop them from coming in and they had always been good tippers. They always were trying to outdo each other to look like big important people, tipping more than the others that were there. After all, this was still a small place, and she relied on the tips, and she really didn't want them to stop.

Sheryl stood up straight and mouthed to Diana I am sorry. At first, Diana didn't know what was going on but then as she walked away, she figured out what she was doing and felt more relaxed knowing that she was not going to be watching her flirting with Ron anymore. Diana thought to herself she wondered if it was that she was flirting with just anyone that she was sitting with or if was it that she was flirting with Ron that was bothering her so much. Not that she would have liked it no matter whom she had been sitting with.

Now that they had their food Ron said, "Okay it should be clear for you to make your calls just start with the texts so that the others won't hear you and I can read them, and once they are done move on to the calls."

He knew that it was not going to matter if they did listen in, but he didn't like others to know what he was doing. Although in this case maybe he should let them listen to how desperately she was looking for her little lost girl. The sympathy might cause them to help more.

Ron thought he was going to change his mind and let them hear her but there was nothing wrong with her starting with the texts, it would give them a chance to eat and for him to make sure that she was not going to try and say anything wrong. After all, that was really the purpose of their being there to find the girl and get her back.

Diana started with a text to Tina figuring that she was not going to get her to respond or if she did she was not figuring that it was going to happen right away. She knew that she needed it to sound sincere but she couldn't say anything that would give Ron or Dave anything that they would question her about and get it back to the leader or the company.

She had been thinking about this knowing that she was going to have to put on a little show for them every time she sent a text to her. But she was going to have to be so careful of not only what she put it was going to be what she was asking so that she wouldn't reply with something that would make them question it either. At this point, she knew that it was going to be a lot easier for her to talk with her friends because they wouldn't know anything and wouldn't have to worry about talking to them in front of the guys.

She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and started off by saying how much she was missing her and how sorry she was for not being there when she knew that Tina was needing her to be there. She told her how much she needed her to come back home. There were just so many things that they needed to work out and they needed just to start over and let the past go. Everything would be so much different and so much better. Diana knew that she had more or less said the same thing to her before but there was nothing more that she could do at this point but keep reassuring her how much things would be different and how much better they could make it if only she lets it be.

Diana read it over to herself several times to make sure that it all sounded good before she turned over the phone to Ron for him to look over before it was sent. Ron took it and carefully read through it most of it seemed to be an apology to the girl which he didn't care about the only thing that he noticed was that she was not asking where she was and that made him ask, "Why are you not asking her where she is?"

Diana said, "For two reasons first is that she would not tell me. She is stubborn that way. When she wants me to know she will just come out and tell me. By now she has to know that I have contacted everyone trying to find her and get her to come back. The second reason is that she had the car and she knows that she is going to have to drive it back it's too expensive just to leave it somewhere."

Ron nodded acknowledging that she had thought things through but then still said, "I think that you should still ask her even if you don't think that she is going to tell you. It will show that you are concerned about her, and it looks a little weird if you don't. It's like you are not caring for her safety."

Diana had not looked at it that way so she edited the text that she was going to send and added that part. She knew that it was not going to matter to Tina if it was in there or not but she knew that it was not going to hurt anything by adding it in. Diana was aware of all the mistakes that she had made in dealing with her now and she knew that if she could change things, she would. She is only hoping that Tina will come around and gives her a chance to make up for part of it.

With an approving nod from Ron, she sent it off hoping that what she had written before will stand and that she will get back to her. She was glad that this was the first day and that she at least had gotten the text saying that she was willing at least to talk to her she was not really even expecting that much out of her based on the last talk that they had.

Diana just sat there for a minute waiting to see if she was going to get a reply or even a notice that it couldn't be delivered but she got nothing and that was really what she was expecting. She was hoping that she would get right back to her but knew that was just a dream on her part.

Diana knew that she couldn't stop there and just wait to hear something she decided to call the ones that were likely to have been in contact with Tina. She would have tried calling and talking to Tina herself, but Tina had told her not to, and the last thing she wanted to do at this point was to push her any farther away.

Diana started with Cindy she knew that Tina had been close to her the longest, and it was likely that if anyone would have talked to her it would have been her. Diana took a few bites of food and then placed the call. At first, the phone just rang and then it switched to her voicemail. She knew that the kids kept their phones at their sides, and usually the only reason that they would go to voice mail was that they were on it at the time, or they were screening their calls. Diana knew that either she was not important enough to talk to, or she didn't want to talk to her now. Diana was not sure which part of that she was hoping to be.

Diana waited for the place to save a message telling her that she needed her to contact her about Tina. But she did not say what it was about Tina in hopes that she would call just to find out what it was that she wanted to talk about.

Ron looked at her like go on and continue. She knew that he heard the message that she left and so she hoped that she would have better luck with Becky. Diana trembled slightly as she started to dial the number, she knew it was her nerves. But it was not like the Leader was expecting her to come up with Tina today. A lead of where she was would be nice. Even if they were not going to go out after her knowing where she was would tell them how far she was from them.

Diana held her breath as the phone rang, she was glad that at least it didn't go straight to voice mail. The phone rang over and over she knew that she had to be talking to someone on it right now so she wondered if she should just hold on and wait or if should she hang up and call her back after a few minutes.

Diana mouthed to Ron that it was just ringing and then she shrugged her shoulders as a sigh that she was wanting him to tell her what he wanted her to do. Ron had heard it ringing and knew that she was wanting him to tell her what to do. He heard it ring another 3 times and he said, "Why don't you call her back in a few minutes? With any luck, she is talking to Tina right now."

Diana nodded as she disconnected the phone, she was thinking that was what she was going to do, but she wanted him to make the call. Anything to make it look like she was giving them total control. She had turned all the control to them, but she wanted them to see it.

Diana turned to the next number to call, and she answered right away. Not that it mattered at all she had received the basic text that a lot of them received that was saying that she was okay but was trying to find herself.

Diana made two more calls and got the same message from both of them. So, she tried to call Becky again and this time on the third ring she got an answer.
