Tina looked at her mom and then back at the cabinet and went back and finished eating. She wanted to see what was in there but there was no way that her mom was going to give her a chance to do it. As soon as she had finished eating, she was told to go outside and play where Jack was anxiously waiting for her.
Jack started licking her all over as soon as she came out the door. In fact, he almost knocked her down, it was like he hadn't seen her in a month.
Tina had all she could do to keep him under control enough to keep him from knocking her down. After a few minutes of him licking her, she was able to stop him. Tina looked back at the house, but her mom had shut the drapes so that she couldn't see in the kitchen now.
She started wondering what was going on her mom was acting so strange now ever since she got up.
It didn't take long for Tina to become distracted by Jack. The fact that it was a warm day and even though her friends were not around she was having a great time. Tina started wondering just where her friends were since they were not there.
The day wore on and it seemed like the day had passed before she knew that it was going. It was strange that her friends had not shown up and when she had tried to ask her mom if she could go to look for them, all her mom would do was tell her to play but stay close to the house. It was like she was not letting her leave the yard or even go to her room.
Jack had kept her busy throughout the day and Tina was glad to see her dad get home but in a way the day had passed faster than it seemed like the day should have.
As soon as supper was done Tina was quickly put to bed and they were all glad that the day was over. While Tina was drifting off to sleep, she was sure that she had heard something going on downstairs. It was not long before Tina drifted off to sleep but the dreams started off with her trying to go out her bedroom door, but it seemed like every step that she took the door moved away the same amount, so she was not able to get any closer to it.
Tina started getting upset and she was just about to wake up crying when Jack heard her being upset and hopped up onto her bed and snuggled into her. That was just what Tina needed to finally get the sleep that she needed.
Years passed quickly and Tina had forgotten all about the bad day that she had. It was not like she had the perfect life that she was thinking that she was going to have, because things had changed for her. Because mom had never seemed to be the same. But it seemed like her dad was always trying to do more for her no matter if she wanted him to or not.
June had grown cold and indifferent to Tina, and she seemed to be just running through the motions never giving her heart or herself she was always keeping Tina at arm's length. Tina noticed at times that it was like she didn't even want her around. As she thought back, her mom always had made her feel so much love and she had been a lot closer than her dad but as the years passed, they just grew apart. There were times that she really missed the closeness that they had shared because there were things that she just didn't want to talk to her dad about.
No girl wants to talk to their dad about the way that a boy is making them feel. Tina was no different and if she had been closer to her mom, she might have been able to share what she was going through with her. There were a lot of things that Tina would have shared but she was able to hang around her friends instead since it felt like her mom never seemed to want her around if her dad was not home and then would just act nice when he was within earshot.
Tina was more than ready to move out of the house and by the time her graduation from high school was coming around her dad had become sickly even though he had never stopped working when he was off it seemed like all he did was sleep. June had become even more hostile toward Tina it was as if she was blaming her for her dad getting sick.
Tina had been spending all her time with her friends, or at least as much as she could. She was down to only sleeping at home once a week if that. She was glad that her friends liked her boyfriend too and she was able to see him all the time.
Tina all in all was happy until everything seemed to fall apart in one week. It was supposed to be the best week of her life with her graduation and a string of parties to which she had been invited to.
It was graduation day and Ken had dropped her off so that she could get changed. She had given him a loving kiss before she had left the car and she blushed because she knew that he always sat at the curb watching her walk up to the door. She knew that he just loved the way that her ass swayed back and forth as she walked, and he would wait till she waved and would close the door before driving away. Today was different, they were in a hurry to get changed and get back to school to get ready for graduation. As soon as her hand touched the door handle, she had the feeling that there was something wrong. At first, she looked around to see if someone was watching her and the feeling was so strong that she jerked her hand away from the door, it was almost like the door contained an electric charge.
Sadness hit Tina and she didn't even know why, and it was so intense that it made her start crying. Tina wondered just what was going on with herself, she had never felt anything like this before and she didn't know why she was feeling it now.
Tina slowly touched the door once again to see if it was going to shock her again. She tapped the handle, and nothing happened but the sadness that she was feeling stayed with her. She knew that something was wrong, but she was just not sure why or what it was. She didn't want to open the door, but she knew that she had to.
Tina could not believe the feeling of dread that she was having. It was like if she never opened the door she would never have to face it, and as soon as she opened the door there would never be a way back from it. She just stood there in terror of what she was going to find waiting for her on the other side of the door. So, she just stood there deep down she knew there was only one thing that was going to be making her feel this way. That realization was the one thing in the world that she didn't want to happen. It would be loss of her father not saying that the loss of her mom would not have affected her, but they had grown so far apart, and she was always left with the feeling that her mom didn't want her around anymore. It seemed to her that even a stepmom would have loved her more and that didn't make any sense that her mom had grown so cold toward her.
Tina thought about that for a moment, and it made her feel nauseous. It made her long for the days that they were closer, but every time that she tried to get close and show some love then her mom would push her away and send her off to go do something else, just to keep her busy. Unless her dad was standing there watching them then she would play the part of a loving mom.
Tina had stood with her hand on the door for a good ten minutes when she thought that this was getting her no place and she had to go ahead and just open the door or turn around and go to her friends.
Her friend's house sounded a lot better to her, but what if she was wrong then she needed to get ready for her graduation. After all there was nothing saying anything was wrong, it had just been feeling that she was having. What if her dad was there and needed help, she was not about to give up and not be there for him. She would never know how to forgive herself if she wasn't there and she could have been.
She knew at this point that she had no choice but to open the door, but she was still having a hard time doing it. She had to force herself to turn the handle to open the door.
The house was as quiet as a graveyard, there was not a sound coming from anywhere. Tina called out and no one replied that was strange, her mom was usually somewhere in the house, and she would call out even if it meant that she was going to be giving her more work to do. Tina called out a second time and there was still no answer, but she thought that her mom and dad just must be shopping or something.
Tina looked around the house and nothing was out of place. The strange thing was that there was not a note or anything. Usually, if they were going shopping, they usually would have left her a note on the fridge or on the table by the door if they had not sent her a text. Asking if there was something that she wanted or needed while they were shopping. So, she figured that she should just go ahead and get dressed up for her graduation and if she still hadn't heard from them by then she would text them at that time to find out what was going on.
Tina was thinking that they must have gotten too busy with things that they were trying to set a party for her so that she could celebrate. She satisfied herself with those thoughts, pushing the bad feelings out of her mind. She knew that it was going to take a couple of hours to get herself ready because she knew that everyone was going to be snapping pictures and she wanted to look like she did when she went to the prom except, she would be in the cap and gown for graduation.
Tina had her shower and she got dressed knowing that most of the time was going to be tied up doing her hair and makeup. She was just putting the foundation on her face when her phone rang.
Tina looked over at the phone and saw that it was her mom, and she immediately did want to answer it. After letting it ring a few more times she picked it up and said, "Hi Mom."
At first, there was hesitation, but when June spoke Tina could hear the grief and anger in her voice.
