The idea wasn't bad, but the execution was all but impossible. After trying a few times, Di Tou realised a very simple issue that he had overlooked. Although Di Tou's cultivation gave him the calculating powers needed to attempt something like this, the bristles of the broom weren't designed to be controlled this way int he first place.
Just like the first method intended, the bristles of the broom were soft and flexible, while remaining slightly firm. That meant that depending on the amount of force the user applied, they would either brush over the ground, bending and knocking into crevices, or the broom would directly scrape away a layer, forcing them out with few cracks.
These limbs weren't hard to control, but the issue was that they also weren't designed to be controlled and thus weren't the most flexible and were quite had to manage once there was more then one or two bristles in the fray… And of course, there were thousands of bristles on the head of the broom!
