Leaving the site of the Maw's infestation and returning to the Academy was a very surreal feeling. So much had happened, but at the same time… it felt like all of their efforts had been nothing more then puffing wind at a mountain and hoping it would move. But at least for now, the Mountain was hidden, and they had a chance to deal with problems one at a time.
The issue of Realm Fractures was strange. On one hand, it was the most pressing event in the current world, and a literal disaster that could cause the end of everything as everyone knew it. On the other hand, it was an ongoing struggle. No matter how much the Mountain, Di Tou, Mu Di Bai, and any number of other heroes tried to fight against it, like a constant tide, more and more Realm Fractures would arrive, leading one to wonder if their actions had any impact or value at all. It was… quite disorienting.
