Before long, Di Tou arrived at one of the satellite towns of the Academy. At this point, Di Tou finally felt that he was far enough and slowed down for a moment, but after thinking about it, he figured it was probably better to deliver the news as soon as possible. That way, perhaps they could strike back before the maw was able to heal from eating the tentacles? After all, eating itself surely couldn't be very efficient, as it would have to regrow the tentacles afterwards. Although it could be argued that the maw would get energy through other sources, and it often seemed that cultivators had infinite energy as they could always absorb the Qi from the environment, energy deficiency still mattered, as it would be getting that energy regardless.
So being down energy for having eaten its tentacles still represented a moment of weakness.
