Chapter 4 - UNSATISFIED WITH ABUNDANT LIFE

In a distance downstairs, outside the main entrance of the skyscraper building, several media reporters and paparazzi who were hungry for news rushed, climbing upstairs to interview secretary Jamila as soon as they set eyes on her.

"Look who's is coming our way!"

Having been a secretary for a very prominent woman CEO of the multi-billion Cooperation, secretary Jamila was famous. Ready for annoying, funny and serious questions, she stepped down the long and wide stairs at the main entrance to face the interview.

Immediately, a swarm of microphones and cameras pointed into her face and from every angle, questions began to fire like AK47 gun bullets.

"Rumours have it that Babara Yen has never took a step out of her mother's mansion ever since she was born _ how true is that...?"

....

"It is said that Monica Yen hired private tutors to teach Babara from home instead of taking her to school like any other normal children?"

...

"Is Babara an imaginary child Monica Yen is trying to create in her own imagination since she's aging without a husband....?"

.....

BLACK SEA:

Twenty years down the road, Kevin Moore, once a little boy of five grew into an average masculine young man. However, he had no single idea that the thick beard surrounding his face from one cheek to another, attaching his long golden hair could be trimmed neatly or be shaved off nicely.

Him and his mother Meg still enjoyed a good life, wiggling their fish tails hapoily here and there in the deep waters of black sea.

Every bit of their surroundings was favorably open to their fine life. Different natural forms helped Meg and her son Kevin to perfectly tell time and continued to live safely and happily.

One fateful night, inside the big ancient cave, grown-up Meg showed up from under the water through the cave pond with a bothered mind. Haunted by a lingering thought, feeling an urge to address it to her son, Meg leaned her elbows down, against the rocky ground at one edge of the pond. On both palms of her hands she comfortably leaned her lower jaw, using them as strong pillar stands on which she relaxed her head before she uttered a word.

Under the water, her pink mermaid scaled tail continued to kept in a wiggling motion.

In the direction where her son was, she stuck her gaze, while her mind ran back and forth on how to start a conversation that was to distract Kevin Moore from what he's doing.

As his hobby, Kevin was busy crafting a rock stone into a beautiful piece of art. On the side was an eye catching statue of his own mother curved perfectly well with its fish tail twisted. Indeed, after so many years Kevin Moore had mastered the skill so well. He was a specialist and to him, changing rocky stones into some stunning pieces of art was breathing life into the surroundings, such an easy task.

A variety of art pieces he had crafted over the years were displayed all around the place inside the cave, making it a beautiful scenery to play, stay and look at.

Different kinds of deep water species like a huge crab, an octopus, shark, whale, several sizes of electric eels, to mention but a few all made a big statement of his love for crafting and an incredible talent he was blessed with, around inside the cave.

At the moment, all his attention focused on a gigantic rock piece, halfway shaped into becoming a very beautiful whale art piece in the making.

From a distance, Meg watched as her son crafted. A pretty smile quirked corners of her mouth, as though she was delighted that she has done it, she had finally raised her son into a wonderful man.

Meg gothered a few guts and asked loudly:

"Have you felt anyhow special today?"

Startledly, Kevin Moore shrugged:

"Oh, mom...! Didn't know you where behind there. How do you mean? Anyhow special! I don't understand."

Rolling her eyes, she replied:

"Um, signs which usually announce special moments, if you know what I mean!"

Kevin posed for a moment, relaxing his busy arms. He then turned a curious face towards his mother in a pond were she chilling, and suddenly, "are you for real!" he sprinted out of the cave in a suprise shock.

Reaching outside the cave, everwhere on top of water floated sea creatures. He stood and watched. On the other side, a flock of enormous whales splashing water fountains with the holes on top of their heads, as if they were celebrating him.

With a smile so bright he blurted an amused long sigh.

"Wow....!"

On the other side there played thousands of dolphins, dancing in and out of water, spicing the moment with stunning acrobatic moves, just for the special day.

He whispered, smiling more happily:

"Thanks."

Immediately, feeling to much excitement, he ran back inside the cave to meet his beloved mother.

Giving an intriguing expression,he said with too much joy to Meg who smiled joyfully too, paying maximum attention to him.

"Mom, can't believe I almost missed out. You need to see what is really happening outside!"

Meg replied desperately.

"I can't wait!"

Since his mother couldn't develop legs to walk herself outside,

"Of course mom!"

Quickly, with his strong muscles in action, he grabbed his mother out of the pond, carrying her bridal style through, upto outside the cave, so that he can enjoy the great fish show with her. Meg being a pure blood mermaid, she did not have the unique ability to develop hind limbs as it was with her son Kevin who was half merman half human.

Hence stayed in his arms as she happily enjoyed the show.

In Kevin's eyes Meg said:

"It's high time."

And of course Kevin knew what his mother meant. He closed his eyes and took a deep relaxing breath. Blissfully, Meg could not wait to hear what her son had on mind this time, to ask for as his wish on his special day.

However, this time round, Kevin didn't seem willing to freely open up his mouth in making a wish although it was so important for him as he celebrated his day. This was so because he was only haunted by one wish, a wish that has lingered on his mind for years.

Doubtlessly he knew that his mother wasn't willing to embrace his wish as she had been avoiding it for many previous time.

"Uh... Mom, am sorry I've got nothing on my mind to wish for this time,"

On a downcast face, he turned and began walking back to the cave, with her, still in his hands.

Meg didn't see this coming. She sounded disappointed.

"Why?!"

She became so uncomfortable and started to make panic movements as soon as she got back into the water pond. Nothing made Meg loose her senses like watching her son suffer both mentally and physically.

"Is this about me?" restlessly, she needed to find out, "or something you don't feel that me your mother deserve to know about?" Meg's face twisted worriedly when she asked.

"...."

After afew seconds of total silence between Meg and son Kevin, boldly he raised his head up, eyes direct to his mother in a pond where she was, making unpleasant chatter over the issue.

So brief and on point he uttered.

"I wish to know my father?"

She whispered to herself, shrinking her sharp pink bright eyes away confoundedly.

"Again?! He can't be serious about that right now!"

Using hands, Meg began to water her upper skin so first in pretence as if she was on fire. Bothered, looking like a soul in torment, she rung her hands piteously together.

When Kevin noticed his mother's sudden change of conduct, he said calmly, turning his face away to leave, disappointedly.

"I knew it."

On sorry eyes Meg panicked and requested softly.

"See son..., before you go.It's not that I don't want us to discuss your father but, his matter got too heavy for my heart to bear. Please, don't do this to me!"

The more her son became cold, the more she felt her soul jumping out her body, loosing her sense of mind. Yelling angrily, Kevin slowed down his fast steps to respond.

"That's being selfish mother! He is my father, remember!"

But allover a sudden, he realised yelling at his mother was a reckless idea. He gave a sincere apology.

"Am sorry."

Meg could understand her son's emotions. Speechless for a few seconds, she toned her voice softly filled with sorrowful emotions.

"I miss your father too. But he is not like us kevin! This explains why he never returned since twenty five years ago."

But Kevin insisted on a serious not, blazing blue flames all-over his muscles.

"Which kind of being was my father?"
