Paisley had locked K. in the house. She wore a nurse's outfit while walking and helped everyone that came her way.
"What's wrong ma'am? I may be able to help." She smiled
The woman smiled, "Thank you....umm...Do you have that in stock?"
Paisley smiled, "Naturally. Senior Abby."
A woman came to them with a stern expression. Paisley knew everyone in the hospital because Tyler hacked in and created an identification for her.
Abby clicked her tongue, "Here."
A container was shoved into the woman's hands. Paisley followed after Abby with curiosity.
"You don't like it too, right?" Paisley went
Abby sighed, "How could I like giving untested and addictive drugs to my beloved patients? If only.... never mind."
Paisley suddenly turned her head to the people receiving similar containers throughout the hospital. Her mind was like a slate as one word came into it.
"Untested." she thought
Paisley composed herself and walked past another senior nurse. She walked to a steel door hidden from the patients and took the card she had stolen. She put on gloves and sprayed the pin pad to reveal the fingerprints.
She entered the room and hid in the shadows. Paisley grabbed a person pressing a cloth over their mouth and constantly watching out as the man passed out. Striping him off his clothes, she took another ID card from her bag and walked forward like nothing happened. She entered the mainframe found before a guarded door.
Paisley stuck a USB into a port and walked toward the door with armed men. One man took out a tablet and sweat ran down her forehead. The USB flashed and silently imploded.
"Ah, Selena. What took you so long?" The guard with the tablet laughed seeing her picture displayed.
The other guard went, "I understand her. It's hectic in there since everyone was summoned for some special event."
Paisley remembered Rafael saying the groups were going to get rid of the lower people. She had to find something significant quickly before she died or figure out her identity. She was ushered toward a group of people.
"Everyone is here?"
A guard announced, "Yes, Sir."
"Good"
The voice seemed to purr with happiness as all the exits closed shut.
" What's going on Boss?" An employee yelled
The Boss grinned, "I'm thankful for all your services. You're all relieved of your duties."
An unnatural shriek echoed through the confined walls and it happened so fast. The person nearby Paisley slumped down headless. Everyone was running as more people were falling into pools of their blood.
She felt numb as she maneuvered herself through the crowd. Although her body told her to rush for the exits because something beyond her understanding was there. Here killing them like roaches.
"What do we have here?" the eerie voice echoed "What are you doing there?"
Attention was now on her. She was in front of a glass door which had refused her access with the stolen keycard.
"I've never seen you before. And I know everyone." the voice said as if upset
Paisley smiled and took out her lipstick. The guards were coming closer to her and the feeling of the unknown creature was nearby as well.
She removed the lid and stabbed the laser into the glass door. It shattered loudly and the researchers ran toward the breached door.
"STOP THEM!!" The boss yelled "AND GET THAT WOMAN!"
Paisley led the stampede of researchers and quickly ducked under a table. She squeezed into the people and found a room filled with vials. Although a test tube in the middle drew her attention the most.
"I...should take it." she thought as she grabbed it
*RINGING*
"How dare you!!!" the boss' voice boomed
She shrugged, "I've done worse."
She also took a vial and walked out. There was silence all around her as the sickening stench of fresh blood hit her nose. Her body froze as she looked closer at something.
A small creature with dark fur. That's all she could distinguish about its appearance before its yellowish eye looked at her.
"KILL HER!!!" the Boss ordered
Paisley ducked and the area behind her shattered into smithereens.
"Run."
A voice whispered to her. No one had to tell her that obvious fact as she bolted away from the monster.
"THERE IS NO ESCAPE. YOU DEATH IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME!!" The Boss laughed happily
"Think Pais," she told herself
She felt nothing as a deep cut appeared on her upper arm. Blood gushing out and the location of the creature is unknown. The room didn't appear silent to Paisley anymore as her heartbeat was chaotic music in her ears.
"Fuck." she coughed as she got stabbed in the thigh
The whispers urging her to run were getting louder and more desperate. As if they were aware of her incoming death.
"RUN!! RUN!! RUN AWAY!! QUICKLY" They yelled
Paisley cried, "TO WHERE!!!"
All the fragile things nearby shattered and decorated the floors that Paisley was limping on.
The creature slashed her back and she felt her insides curling. She was numb but it didn't stop the effects of blood loss as she lost strength to run aimlessly.
The boss' laughter felt distant with the mixture of whispers, her heart and ringing in her ears. Breathing was becoming difficult as more cuts and stabs appeared on her body. They were toying with her
She looked around at the unknown place that would be her coffin and slapped herself. Paisley took out her gun and weakly raised it. This earned her another hearty laughter from the mastermind.
Paisley smirked, " You're a joke *cough* "
"What?" the Boss reacted
She pulled her trigger and the echo of glass shattering echoed for a short moment.
The Boss' voice laughed, "Is that all?"
"If you're a real predator.....you wouldn't play with your food." she panted
She pulled the trigger again, the Boss was about to say something.....
*EXPLOSION*
"NO!!" The Boss reacted as Paisley smiled
The secret lab was under the hospital. The ceiling was coming down and the Paisley fired another bullet. A fiercer series of explosions followed and the hospital sunk.
Some doctors were trying to save as many patients as possible. Others were running for their lives and the sirens of police care were getting closer.
Paisley pulled herself out of the sewers and coughed violently. Sneaking away from that monster wasn't an easy feat with her wounds.
She spat out her bloodied diamond bullet and took in the fresh air.
"Girl's best friend." she panted to herself
She staggered upward and looked at the rising smoke from where the hospital was. Paisley picked her her bullet. She limped deeper into the forest using the help of trees.
The sewer water rippled slightly.
".....Run...." the voice whispered softly
