Delmira made a circle to pick Rafael up and they went towards the melting car.
"Clearly, there's no evidence," Rafael told
Delmira prepared to leave after sniffing around although Sylvia stopped them. She pointed back at the blob of colored metal. Rafaela and Delmira gave her tired expression.
"Look," Sylvia told
Rafael's eyes widen and let out a curse. Hess and the group managed to get out although one person had lost a leg in the narrow escape. This complicated things a bit for him and was in deep thought while Delmira floated him home.
"How will you pass through the door?" Rafael worried
Delmira passed through the wall like a ghost and Rafael sat down on the couch. After a while, Rafael got out his first aid kit and bandaged himself. He took out the joy pills and pushed them toward a normal-looking Delmira.
"You see these. We will go for a walk over the neighborhood and tell me the places with a high concentration of this." Rafael smiled
"What is this?" Sylvia asked
"Joy Pills: refers to combination preparations consisting of four basic ingredients: opium, Cannabis products, Datura seeds, and spices. This combination is efficacious psychoactive aphrodisiacs that activate the nervous system simultaneously in numerous places." Rafael smiled " They cause flushing, headache, muscle pain, stomach upset, allergic reactions, and vision changes. One good advantage would be hallucinations, right?"
Sylvia realized where he was going.
"So if anything weird happens..." it's just the pill " would be a great explanation." Rafael grinned wickedly "They have been working so hard."
Rafael went back to the living room table of papers and photos. And something that he found weird was continuous photos of one house and a person. Everything else wasn't so useful since the important parts were scratched out.
"Trying to send me on a wild goose chase. How cute." Rafael scoffed
*DING-DONG*
"What?" Rafael exclaimed
The light was entering through a crack in his curtains and Delmira slept comfortably on him. He gently dug his fingers into the fur of the large red and white husky and was slowly drifting back to sleep.
His eyelids shot open when he saw three pairs of eyes looking at him and let out a sigh. Delmira woke up, stepped on his wound, and went to the children. She circled around them as Rafael got up with a groan.
"I'm okay too, Delmira thanks for asking." Rafael frowned
The kids laughed as they hugged Delmira happily. Rafael stretched his body and put the joy pills out of reach of the children.
" Shouldn't we be at school? I'm absolutely positive it's my day off, I would never mistake that." Rafael smiled
Alexandra smiled, "We were being followed and watched. We snuck out of school."
"You go to school?" Alexander asked his twin
Rafael frowned, "They attacked me too. Could they know who we are?"
"Probably." Lucielle replied "They're strong. But they only have a faint idea, they aren't sure."
"Really?" they exclaimed
"Yeah. It takes time, we must have looked suspicious or something." Lucielle nodded "I've been looking for them too."
"We really don't have time. It will all depend on who finds the others' identities first." Rafael sighed
Lucielle frowned, "It sounds easy but I assure you, it's not. Let's make this a last resort?"
"Alright." Rafael nodded
Alexander went, " Can we split up?"
"Why? It could be dangerous." Rafael frowned
Alexander and Rafael stared at each other seriously for a while.
"We won't make any ground moving around as a group and I feel like this case may be what can bring our memories back." Alexandra agreed
Rafael thought, "Do you really want your memories?"
Rafael nodded toward them without revealing the true emotions on his face. Delmira rested her head on his leg. Alexander went out on his own and the rest started in Rafael's house.
Rafael explained what they would be doing.
"We looking for a drug?" Alexandra sighed "Can you find that, Luci?"
"Sadly no." Lucielle smiled
Rafael put a leash, he bought around Delmira's neck and opened the door.
"Shall we go for a walk?" Rafael smiled
The girls laughed, "Gladly."
They pretended to curtsy toward Rafael and he couldn't help but laugh as well. They walked out into the streets.
"Be careful what you say. " Rafael whispered
They nodded their head in understanding. Alexandra suddenly looked at Rafael with a frown.
"Mister, I don't understand why we need to go to school?" Alexandra said loudly "I hate it!"
"Look at this brat." Rafael thought with a smile
So they put on a show of a teacher trying to convince his students to go back to school. He wore a worried expression as Alexandra came up with a normal and childish reason why she didn't want to go to school. Lucielle behaved as if Alexandra had dragged her with her, behaved timidly, and agreed with everything when asked.
Delmira stopped and entered a yard. An elderly man ran out as the dog pooped on his lawn and looked pleased with itself.
"Boy. You better clean this mess up!" the man roared
Rafael replied, "I'm sorry. May I have a plastic?"
"What type of dog owner are you?!" The old man frowned
" She went to the bathroom at home. I guess breakfast was too heavy, see kids you shouldn't have given her so much food."
Rafael came closer and looked at the kids from the corner of his eye.
"I'm sorry. Can you watch them? They ran away from school and don't want to go back." Rafael whispered, "I don't know what to do."
The man grumbled at the weak expression and nodded. He gave Rafael directions to where his plastics were and Rafael looked at him with a respectful look. He walked to the door.
"What are you brats doing out at this time?" Rafael heard the man ask Alexandra
Rafael walked in and Sylvia pointed towards a locked room. She turned it into a small iron rod and he put it into the keyhole. The rod grew to fill in the spaces, and become a key and Rafael unlocked it. He froze.
A stench of decay and drugs hit him and he saw corpses with tags written: Failure. He turned towards the work table and saw pictures of Lucielle, Alexander, and Alexandra.
"Fuck." Rafael reacted
