Impatience flickered in Zion's eyes as he took Suga's wrist and pulled him up from his chair. Suga's gaze darted to Mr. Brandt, who wore a look that clearly said, I saw this coming. The man's fingers tapped lazily against the table, a tell of someone quietly mulling something over, before he finally spoke.
"Zion's right. There's nothing that needs discussing."
"But—"
"Suga, I just want to say this, I am not the previous Alpha Prime leader. That old man no longer has the right to make the rules for the Union. I am the one in charge now. So what I want you to know is, you don't have to burden yourself with your parents' mistakes."
"That wasn't my parents' mistake anyway, I said it's self defense." Suga shot back, his words slipping out before he could think twice.
