Chapter 5 - Do my job for me

Tina gazed curiously at Roselle to get every piece of the information.

"It has been a week now since he returned."

Tina's brows wrinkled. "And you have not said anything about it all these days we've been seeing each other?"

"I have to gather all the information before I do." Roselle heaved, easing the anger in her. She took a long sip at her drink and then peered at Tina. "I want you to take care of him."

"No, no, not me Roselle, you have to choose another person, I no longer do that kind of job." She shook her head negatively. Tina's eyes hardened and narrowed as she watched Roselle lean back against the chair she was sitting on.

Roselle rubbed her hand across her head. "To be honest, this had made me restless recently and that is why I'm leaving him in your hands."

"Come on, what do you expect me to do with him? Kill him? Come on, you know Rashuel is a very dangerous man. You can't get him by just setting a honey trap for him." Tina released all she had in mind and when she was done talking, Roselle dropped a document on the table in front of Tina.

"What is this for? A job opportunity? An agreement already?"

"You ask too many questions, open it first."

Tina gazed at Roselle for some seconds then decided to open the document. It was an application letter and there was a CV of a woman named Castrol Morgana in it.

There was a long silence between the two as she went on and studied what was written there. "No Roselle! This is crazy! Stupid crazy! In fact, I can't!" Tina ran her hands over her face.

"Look Tina, this is not the first time you are doing this. You have brought so many men down with your powers and you know very well how to manipulate men more than I do. So, you're the perfect candidate for this job. I have no one else I can turn to except you."

"I know that I have always been clean in my job but..." Her voice thrilled off. She gulped the lumps in her throat and she spoke again, "He's the most dangerous man one can ever deal with. His eyes are always open, nothing goes unnoticed by him. He knows when one is using him, he..." She was cut off by something Roselle dropped on the table.

Gently, she opened the bag Roselle dropped and what she saw made her gasp. "This is a very huge amount."

"I hope it will be enough for you to stop your whining and you will do my job for me," Roselle's lips parted in a sly smile.

When it comes to Tina, money was enough to get her to do whatever she was asked to no matter how dangerous it might be, especially a huge amount like this.

"You are spending this much just to take him down?"

"I told you that I will do everything possible."

"I'm always at your service to do your job girl." Tina smiled, tracing her hand on her hair and she brought out the cigarettes she had tucked inside her hair. "Want this?" She asked Roselle, offering her the prettiest smile.

"Not now,"

"Come on, have it, you can enjoy it later if you wish."

Roselle took the cigarette from her and tucked it into her hair as Tina did, her hair hid it properly and she smiled back at Tina. "Gather your men and your girls, slow and steady wins the race girl," She said, raising the bottle of vodka at Tina.

"Slow and steady" Tina repeated. Their bottle made a clicking sound as the two said cheers at the same time.

Just then, Roselle's phone rang, she picked up the call and her mother's cranky voice boomed on the phone. "Where are you, Roselle? Have you forgotten about your date? Dave called me just now saying that he couldn't reach you, and he has been waiting for you for some minutes now."

"I'm sorry mum, I didn't forget. Things have been so tight for me over here. I had a lot of important things to take care of here in the office, but I will be there within some minutes. Extend my apologies to him."

"Alright, you have to be fast about it, and be very careful on your way."

"Yes, mother," Roselle replied and ended the call.

Tina peered at Roselle. "What is this lie about you being in the office now? And what was that I heard? You're going on a date?"

"It's mum, she setting up a blind date again."

"She never gets tired of it, will she?"

"Not until her daughter gets married," Roselle said and they laughed.

"You will be going for it?"

"I must, to secure the bag," Roselle replied and their laughter almost beamed together with the music that the DJ of the bar had suddenly put on.

The people in the bar cheered and the bar began to boom with the hip hop music. Some of the people began to leave their seats as men had their hands wrapped around the waist of their women, twisting and jiving to the rhythm of the music as they pulled their women to the dance floor.

Roselle and Tina now talked to each other almost in a scream as they struggled to hear each other's voice because of the music.

"Speaking of marriage Roselle, don't you think it's…"

Roselle held her hand up at Tina, and that was enough to stop Tina from asking further the question she had in mind.

"Hello, beautiful ladies. Do any of you care for a dance?" A male's deep voice beamed from behind Roselle. Roselle turned to see a man dressed in a black singlet which barely covered his hairy chest as the gold necklace on his neck jiggled down to his chest. They ignored him and Tina lit her cigarette.

"Come on ladies, are you two gonna ignore me?" The man insisted. About to offer his hand to Roselle, a man ran into the bar and towards Roselle's table. He bumped into the man offering Roselle his hand and the man fell to one side.

"Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?! You want me to teach you a lesson?!" The man dressed in a black singlet shouted, regaining his stance. He aimed a punch at the man that suddenly ran in. Slightly, the man was able to escape the punch and Roselle screamed at the men.

"Stop it! That's enough! And get yourselves out of here if you don't want to lose your heads!"

Who dares not to listen when the city bitch orders? Absolutely no one. The man dressed in a singlet apologized immediately and hurried out of the place. The other went on his knees immediately shivering.

"What is it?!" Roselle shouted at him when she saw that the man remained there shivering.

"Boss, it's your man, his…they..."

"What?!" Roselle shouted impatiently.

"Blood, it's blood, his blood is everywhere…" Before he could finish speaking, Roselle grabbed her purse running towards the other bar where Nate was. Tina and the man scurried behind as the man kept blabbing, "They killed him, oh those wicked drunkards killed him…"

When Roselle got to the other bar where Nate was, Nate was whimpering on the floor, his head covered with blood.
