"Sorry, I'm late," Mila's voice came from behind.
Allen didn't turn right away.
His eyes were locked on the match still unfolding, showing Elio, no, Mac, throwing his shield up, tanking a scythe strike to the ribs. Not dodging. Absorbing. Taking it like a man with something to prove.
Then Allen glanced over.
Mila slid into her seat, smoothing the hem of her cream blazer as she dropped her designer bag beside her. Her perfume drifted up immediately, jasmine and whatever upscale thing she picked to match her skin tone today.
Vivian glanced over and flashed her a lazy smile. "Hey, welcome to the group, Mila~"
Mila smiled, but there was a little tension around her lips. She wasn't really relaxed. She leaned closer toward Allen, brushing her hair back like it was just habit, not soft showmanship. Her voice lowered.
