Ryu let out a sigh before sitting next to Kairi. "I assume this young man was cause of the trouble." He said pointing at Itachi with the sword.
Itachi looked directly at the man's eyes with his sharingan and was surprised at the reaction. Usually a person would show some reaction but Ryu stared unblinking right at him. Itachi picked up his tea and took a sip.
Ryu continued to watch him before standing. "Were going outside." he said to Itachi. He walked out with his sword at his side. Koi looked eager while Kisame looked at him with pity. Kairi didn't react.
"Don't wreck the house." she said. Kisame stiffened and Ryu just nodded at his wife. Itachi looked at Kisame.
"Some advise, go all out if you want to live. He may not look like it but he is several times stronger then me. He is also the one that help train me." Kisame siad.
Itachi was surprised. Ryu seemed to be a blacksmith and did have a lot of Chakra, but for Kisame to doubt his strength made him look at Ryu in a whole other way. Itachi was also curious how a man who had taken the trade smithing be stronger then someone like Kisame, and why had he never heard of Kisame's family.
The door that Ryu opened led to a large field that looked like it had seemed some battle before. There were marks on the ground that looked like cuts and craters, upon further inspection there was also sign of different Chakra releases in the field.
Ryu led him into the middle of the field and stood across from him and got into a stance with his blade pointing downward.
'The stance is perfect.' Itachi thought, even with his sharingan he couldn't see even the smallest mistake. 'I see why Kisame admires his strength, but how far can he take kenjutsu.' Itachi thought. He thought of Might Guy who became an Elite Jonin with only taijutsu.
Ryu took a deep breath and looked at his opponent. 'This young man seemed to have a relaxed air about him, but he is on gaurd.' Ryu thought. He was well aware of Itachi reputation and strength and weaknesses. He even theorized that he unlocked the Mangekyo or was under orders when he killed his clan.
"I'm not holding back." Ryu said. Itachi just looked at him in the eyes.
Koi got exactly and kept a keen eye on the oncoming fight. Kisamr just smiled and looked on. While he knew Itachi was strong he was confident that his brother could give even Leader-sama a run for his money in a fight.
The two figures just stood across from each other before Ryu vanished and appeared before Itachi ready to cut off his head. Itachi just looked into his eyes, but they widened as the blade didn't even slow down and his cloak was cut as he hurriedly moved back.
"It seems that even sharingan genjutsu won't work on him." Kisame sighed. "Huh." Kou asked. He knew that his father had great controll and was a better swordsman then even the 7 swordsman of the mist but even he was surprised.
"You father constantly disrupts his Chakra without breaking the flow, hence genjutsu is worthless on him since he'll know the moment he's in a genjutsu, and with his massive reserves and density he can break out off pretty much any genjutsu without a problem." Kisame said.
Koi just looked at his father in surprise, he knew his father could fight any kage head on, but to be practically immune to genjutsu is insane. He wondered what else he didn't know about his father.
Back with Itachi he was actually struggling against Ryu. His techniques were perfect, he had bi wasted movement, and he couldn't catch him in a genjutsu. Itachi had decided to fight seriously.
He pulled out a kunai to block an incoming strike, only for the kunai to cut and him getting his chest cut open. He backed off and became wary.
Itachi started throwing shuriken at high speed, some with wires, only to be surprised as Ryu dodged or blocked all of them cutting the strings before he could use them. 'Shurikenjutsu doesn't work as well 'Itachi thought.

He jumped in the air and started speeding through hand signs before spewing a massive fireball. Ryu jumped at him and cut the whole thing in half by sending a Chakra slash his was. Itachi dodged the slash surprised.
Ryu then appeared in front of Itachi and, with a Chakra enhanced sword slashed at him. Itachi dodged the strike but wa surprised again when the Chakra shifted making a longer blade that cut his neck slightly before stopping.
They both new who the winner was. Itachi had lost in 4 minutes and 13 seconds.
When they both landed Ryu sheathed his blade and walked to the house where Koi ran to congratulate his father. Itachi just stared touching his neck as Kisame walked towards him.
"Told you, you should've used your Mangekyo if you wanted to beat him." Kisame stated. Itachi just looked at his partner as he came to the same conclusion. Ryu sword techniques sliced completely through his kunai and didn't give him an opportunity to use Taijutsu. He had a hard time tracking his movements with the sharingan and the since he was using a sword he couldn't get close giving him a disadvantage.
If he new more about Ryu abilities he wouldn't of been as hard pressed and would've stood his ground more. But what he was interested in was the Ryu changed direction mid air and made a Chakra sword that bent at an odd angle without losing momentum.
"Just so you know, he hasn't even revealed half of his abilities. If he went all out from the start or took this fight more seriously it would've ended quicker. He wanted to see your skills." Kisame said before walking back to the house.
Itachi just stood there thinking. 'What a monster.' he thought before following. Itachi learned plenty from fighting him, buy if he went all out, Itachi thi ks he would have to use his Susanoo to win.
He was lucky Ryu wasn't in the Akatsuki, otherwise he doubted that he would be able to protect Konoha from them.
He followed after his partner into the house.
