Volume 7 Chapter 21: Stop! White Eyes!
A crisp clash of metal rang out, followed by something slamming into the ground. Dust and shattered stones filled the air like a misty rain.
Alwin landed lightly, his holy sword resting casually on his shoulder. Before him lay a deep, narrow tunnel, barely wide enough for one person to pass through.
"Escaped," Alwin muttered, his ghostly white eyes narrowing as he noticed the bloodstains scattered near the edge of the pit.
At the last moment before his strike landed, she had turned and blocked with a spike, narrowly avoiding being cleaved in two. However, she couldn't withstand the impact, and the force had blasted her deep into the earth.
"…Fine," Alwin chuckled, spreading his hands. "As long as my goal remains unaffected, it doesn't matter."
Though the battle had not been boring, it had cost him far too much time. With that, he resumed his journey toward his original destination. He wondered how far the summoned creatures had progressed by now.
"OO, OOOO, OOOOO—[Light Wing Summon]." Alwin chanted a spell from the memories of the Hero King. White light gathered and took form behind him, solidifying into a pair of radiant, feathered wings.
As Alwin prepared to take off, flapping his newly-formed wings, a stream of water sliced through the mist with precision, hurtling straight toward him from an impossible angle.
Alwin frowned, swinging his greatsword in a smooth arc to deflect the attack. The dust cleared, revealing Derisha standing firmly in his path, her weapon [Anti-Melon Spear Prototype 1.0] raised and at the ready.
"Where do you think you're going? Our fight isn't over yet!" Derisha shouted angrily, taking up a combat stance, her spear pointing directly at Alwin.
"…Sigh," Alwin exhaled, clearly uninterested. He didn't even bother drawing his sword. "I have no interest in you. Why must you persist?"
Words were futile. Blue and green mana surged around Derisha as she spun and charged, her spear driving forward with unstoppable momentum.
"[Storm Rush]!"
Even if she was alone, she would keep this man here!
"How boring," Alwin muttered. The white glow around him intensified, and he raised his black shield. A shockwave exploded outward, shattering the ground beneath them.
The magical tempest raged as their weapons clashed, the sheer force unable to overwhelm either. Only [Obsidian] and [Orichalcum steel], the two hardest materials, stood unyielding in their collision.
But the [Thorn] enchantment on Alwin's shield activated immediately. Blood sprayed from several new wounds that appeared across Derisha's body. Letting out a pained gasp, her momentum broke. The black shield surged forward, slamming into her and sending her flying.
Derisha tumbled across the ground, rolling into one of the craters left by their earlier battle.
Choking down a healing pill to staunch her bleeding, she struggled to her feet and crawled out of the pit, only to see Alwin already disappearing into the sky as a faint white dot.
"Hey, hey? Stop—stop right there!" Derisha cried out, her eyes wide with disbelief. She broke into a sprint, the wind wings on her back spreading as she took flight in pursuit.
In all her years of battle, she'd anticipated countless scenarios on the battlefield. But being flat-out ignored like this? It was a first.
Unacceptable! Even if she set aside the current situation, even if it wasn't for Walson—she couldn't let this slide!
Far ahead, Alwin's white eyes gazed toward the imperial capital. The city was already engulfed in flames, its dim skies illuminated by a fiery glow.
It seemed things were proceeding smoothly. His ultimate goal could be achieved at any moment.
Thinking of this, Alwin couldn't help but let a grin spread across his face.
Suddenly, his keen senses detected movement behind him. With a single flap of his wings, he spun mid-air, narrowly dodging a razor-sharp wind blade that screamed past.
"Stop right there! You—you… uh… what's your name again? Forget it! Just stop! White-eyes!" Derisha yelled as she thrust [Anti-Melon Spear Prototype 1.0], releasing another wind spear that shot straight at him.
"..." Alwin furrowed his brows, irritation bubbling to the surface. Finally, he reached for his holy sword. With an effortless sweep, he unleashed several massive crescent-shaped slashes, forming a deadly web of energy that barreled toward Derisha.
"Wah!" A startled yelp echoed from behind him.
Ignoring the commotion, Alwin turned and flapped his wings again, his movements brisk and impatient, as if swatting away a persistent nuisance. He accelerated sharply.
But moments later, the vexing yet irrepressibly energetic shouting resumed.
"Stop! White-eyed bastard! Yes, I'm talking to you!" Derisha bellowed. Dozens of water spears materialized and surged toward Alwin.
"—[Structure Swap: Command Blocks]." Alwin's patience snapped. Raising his holy sword, he altered the [Command Block] to black and swung it forcefully. A rain of TNT blocks erupted from thin air.
Like a fireworks display gone berserk, the resulting explosions sealed off the entire sky.
"Ahhh! What the heck is this?!" Derisha shrieked again.

Rubble, sand, and fragments of giant mushrooms filled the air.
The plains between the White Mushroom Forest and the Imperial Capital, after enduring this indiscriminate bombardment, could no longer be called plains.
Pitted and scarred, it was a wasteland devoid of life, save for one exception.
"White eye!" Derisha was airborne, her spear spinning as she danced through the air. Her right eye burned with golden magic, her pupil ablaze, as countless future possibilities unfolded before her!
The treasured ability she gained after overcoming the Labyrinth of Water and becoming a Vassal—Water Elemental Guardian Skill: [Ryulong: Flowing Vision]!
"Goodbye!!!!!"
...
...
...
"It's Herobrine!!!!!!!!!!!"
Seething with rage, a brilliant six-colored light burst forth as light-attribute magic surged like a tidal wave. Alwin turned around and shot toward Derisha at lightning speed!
"[Sacred World Technique]——[Divine Judgment]!"
The night sky was illuminated by white light, as though it were daytime. Holy and solemn, imbued with the will to obliterate and purify everything, tens of thousands of light blades rained down like a storm!!
Derisha was utterly unafraid, simply twirling her spear as waves of wind magic pulsed around her.
After everything she had been through on this journey, there was nothing left that could instill fear in her.
Not her past, not that giant fish, not the three headed monster... and certainly not this guy in front of her. What was his name again?
The storm rose, kicking up dust into a tornado.
A domain of its own, small amidst the downpour of blades, yet steadfast and unyielding.
"[Great Destruction Origin - Scattered Dance of Annihilation]!"
