'𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘢 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩.'
"Huh?" I say out loud.
"Who you talking to?" Josh asks.
"What? Oh nothing."
"What is up with you." He asks flicking me on the forehead.
"Nothin I'm fine." I say turning down the hall.
"Whatever you say." Josh says doing our handshake before separating ways again until the end of the day.
'Will you just listen to me and use life after death?' The god says.
'No I'm kinda in school.'
'Well the spreader in the courtyard or whatever hasn't decomposed yet.'
"Quince!" I turn and see Brad walking up. "Code, what is it."
"Oh right it's uh 153927" I say giving Brad the code to the computers in the school.
"Took you long enough. How you get those anyways?"
"I have my ways." I say going into chemistry.
"Good afternoon Quincy."
"Good afternoon." I say to Mr. Blake.
"How's Jones treating you?" He asks.
"Same as usual." I say sitting down. I look hoping maybe Hanna's in my class and I never noticed.
"Hi." Someone says tapping my shoulder. I turn around and see Hanna smiling. "I guess I sat behind you the entire year."
"Huh I never noticed you." I say.
"Well you do now." Hanna says sitting back down when Mr. Blake starts talking.
"Alright we're just gonna do a review from yesterday. Get the papers from two days ago and something to write with."
'Biology's my strong suit.' The god says.
"Hey do you by chance have the assignment from two days ago?" Hanna asks.
"Uh yeah it's in my bag." I say grabbing a paper. "You need it?"
"Just the last couple questions." She says taking the paper and flipping to the last page.
"Biology is probably the easiest class I have." I say.
"Really? I can't seem to figure out any science class I have." Hanna says copying the answers down onto her paper from mine.
"I find it really easy, I don't know why." I say taking my paper back and putting it in my bag.
"Well you can help me with biology and I'll help you with math that seems fair."
"Yeah that sounds good." I say.
"Eyes up here." Mr. Blake says tapping on my desk.
"Sorry." I say.
"Alright so from what we learned yesterday we know that Potassium chlorate mixed with sugar and a drop of sulfuric acid makes a big purple flame and smoke. But we never saw it in action and some of you didn't believe me, so I got permission to do it as long as everyone stays about a foot away and it's in the gas chamber." Mr. Blake says grabbing three Styrofoam boxes.
"I believe it." Hanna says next to me.
"Same, Mr. Blake knows what he's talkin about."
"Alright could I have Landon and Alexis come and hold the other two boxes?"
"Coming." Alexis says going up and grabbing a box. Landon also takes one when Mr. Blake opens his dramatically and sets a container in the chamber before taking Landon's box and dropping the sugar.
"Alright thank you guys." He says throwing Landon's box and taking Alexis's. "Everyone ready?" He asks.
"Yeah I'm ready." "Do it!" People respond. He takes a dropper and gets liquid from the box. He puts his hand through the little slit he made in the front and takes a breath before dropping it and taking his hand out closing the door.
Immediately a purple flame shoots up, Hanna jumps and bumps into me. I look over and see her smiling watching the flame go from the majestic purple to a normal flame and dying out.
"And here you guys didn't believe me." Mr. Blake says. "I have one more thing I want to show you. While you were watching the flame I got another experiment ready we're going to see what happens if you mix candy corn and potassium chlorate." He grabs a decent sized bag of candy corn and takes one and sets it on the counter next to a glass tube with a white liquid sitting at an angle on a holder above a burner. "Grab a handful if you want some." He says after taking a piece of candy corn out of the bag.
The bag gets passed around and Mr. Blake takes the candy corn in a pair of tongs and gets ready to put it in the glass tube.
"So we're going to see what happens if we put a piece of candy corn in the liquid form of potassium chlorate." He says he drops the piece of candy and flames start shooting out of the tube like little fireballs until calming down a little being a steady but forceful flame. "So what we're seeing is when potassium reacts with certain chemicals like sugar it has a violent reaction. The goal of all of this is to show how dangerous chemicals can be. Yes I did this as a lab safety lesson you're welcome for making it fun, go back to your seats please." He says.
"That was actually pretty cool." Hanna says.
"Well minus the part where you jumped out of your skin." I say laughing.
"Um actually I wasn't scared I was just seeing how you would react."
"Sure, sure."
"I'm being serious!" Hanna says giving me a little shove.
"Didn't seem like it." I say sitting down.
"Well I'm just a good actor." Hanna says pulling her chair out.
"Whatever you say." The bell rings signaling the end of the fourth hour of the school day.
