"I am sure it is this way..." mumbled Jessica as she moves through the shrubbery. She is looking for a particular ruin said to be abandoned. There is nothing to be found according to the people but there is a reason why Jessica is looking for such ruins.
"The next artifact will be mine." she said with a happy tone. Yes, she is apparently collecting artifacts, in the dungeons designated by the system. It is a hidden world full of monsters and treasures. It is where Jessica's main source of experiences come from without alerting every people of the world. She need to be well prepared for the dungeon crawling.
On the way to the ruins, she was stopped by three beautiful looking men. "You look pretty. Wanna come with us?" said one guy with a dazzling smile. Jessica's eyes are full of contempt and flat out said, "No." The three guys are shocked. "Um, we don't mean any harm. We just wanna be friends with you." said one guy with a sad puppy eyes.
Once again, Jessica flat out rejects it. No matter how hard they tried to convince her, there is no chance for her to say yes. The reason is her past life, where the spotlight went to her handsome boyfriend who stole Jessica's work using shrewd tactics of charming. She no longer wanted any relationship ever again.
The three guys are angry and they shouted, "What is wrong with you?! We are giving you the chance to serve us Lords! And you deny us with your status, Mortal?!" Jessica is pretty much pissed because she kept hearing the "Mortal" talk over and over again.
She screamed, "So what?! At least I am sane and you three are delusional!" They jaws dropped and their eyes widened from serious shock. This never happened to them before. "You are gonna regret that!" said one guy with furrowed brows. He was about to grab Jessica's shirt.
She instinctively casted "Rock Burst" and blew her enemies away. Which surprises everyone. She controlled the power of her Rock Burst to 5% of the maximum power, which is enough to knock down her enemy. "Wait... Did that really happen?" asked one guy in disbelief. "You dog!" other guy shouted and tried to punch her.
The battle started on the road. The end result is that Jessica have won but did not receive any experiences for she didn't kill the three. She looks at them to the eyes then said, "You guys should be the ones protecting our future, not destroying it. You're shameful and pathetic." The three guy's spirit shattered to pieces. They couldn't move nor speak at all.
Jessica had to do this because of what happened to the past. At first she trusted the "Cultivators" to help her, only to be taken advantage of because she is a "Mortal". She earned her revenge but for the cost of morality. She learned how to be a cold-blooded killer first-hand which gave her nightmares for 3 months.
Jessica leaves the three in the middle of the road. Once again, she failed to notice someone was watching her in the distance. This time, it is another cultivator, who seems to be interested to Jessica. "Protector of the future..." she said, pondering what it means. Wanting to find out, she followed Jessica in the shadows.
