Chapter 24 - Short. Rushing Wind

The silence of the canyon was broken only by scattered stones and pebbles falling from above. The heat was equally oppressive and tranquil. Lizards and other small critters scurried from shade to shade, from one side of the canyon to the other, the sun overhead beaming its hateful gaze downward. A whistling echos through the canyon, causing many a head to raise in curiosity at the fleeting noise. Returning, the whistling advanced, reverberating against the walls like a tidal crash against rocky shores. Ever increasing in volume, the whistling became a howl, and then a roar sending all manner of life to take shelter in the many cracks and crevices adorning the cliff walls. A tumultuous cloud of anger screams, racing through the canyon and ricocheting off its stalwart walls. Blasting forth, the winds tear plants from the ground, and critters from their hides. The viscious spirits of wind madly laugh as their deranged charge tears through, leaving a hanging fog of fear and dust.
