"Ohhh! I wonder what kind of place we will visit. I cannot wait!"
"I don't think it will be that much different, Zelretch."
"Oh, you are wrong, my friend. You have not lived as long as I have, and I have never seen anything like this in my life. To you, it might not be special, but it is a special thing for me."
"Right. I can see it."
Zelretch is old. He never tells me his real age, but he once told me that he learned from Solomon, the King of Magecraft, in the past. That alone tells you that he is older than Jesus himself.
That bastard is thousands of years old.
"Did you think badly of me, Ryan?"
"What? No. There is no way I am thinking badly of you, Zelretch."
"Hmmm~ I know when someone is lying, you know?~ I make a lot of people mad at me and know when someone thinks badly of me~."
"Nah! I never think badly of you."
We chuckle a little while we wait for Yasaka and the others. I already have enough things in my Gate of Babylon that will last me for a decade or two. Zelretch has everything inside the special ring he created, which acts as an anchor to the pocket dimension where he stores all the research materials and travel supplies he needs. We do not need to gather any supplies for this journey.
We do not need to wait long before they return. Yasaka and White carry a big briefcase while Asia and Kunou carry their school bags.
"You guys ready?"
"Yup~ We are ready, Papa!"
I perked up a little at Kunou calling me papa. It has been a couple of months since she started calling me that, and I am so happy about it. Asia nods her head and gives me a bright smile.
"Yeah. I am excited to see White's home."
White and Asia have grown closer. Asia, that cinnamon roll, is more than happy to have more friends. She shows White around and even shows her study. At the moment, she is studying to be a doctor. It turns out her Sacred Gear works better when she knows about humans and how they function.
She even studied medicine for the Youkai races.
"Perfect! Please get closer and make sure not to get too far away. I will put up a barrier now."
I take a deep breath and project my Planeswalker's aura, creating a bubble that protects the people coming with me. When we are ready, I take a deep breath and think of the world I want to go to. I am thinking of White's world, and when I am ready, I jump.
We appear in the Blind Eternities, and I nod my head when I see that the others are safe. Zelretch, on the other hand, writes something in his notes, taking samples and even tasting some of the energy from the Blind Eternities.
I ignore him and instead follow the thin thread that guides me through the infinite space in this void. I follow the thread, and after who knows how long, I see a crack open up, and we go through it.
When we go through the crack, we land on a barren land with an overgrown forest that overruns the city.
I release a deep breath and say.
"I am still not used to that feeling."
"Yeah." Yasaka shakes her head. "Even with the protection, I can hear all kinds of voices coming from the void. What was that?"
"That is everything and anything at once. That is the Blind Eternities. It is everything and anything in the multiverse."
"I see! I see!"
I look at Zelretch and say.
"What do you see, Zelretch?"
"The Blind Eternities! We are swimming through a greater strain of the Root! Well, not the Root like back in my world, but it is the same concept! The Multiverse needs a center, and the Blind Eternities is the root of the Multiverse!"
"Ah, yeah. Something like that. Just like Yggdrasil connects the nine worlds, the Blind Eternities connects all the planes in the multiverse."
"Yes… Yes…"
I ignore him and look around with a frown. I immediately noticed something.
"So, what about the progress, Ryan? I thought we would appear in a new city in this world."
"It should be." White looks around with a frown. I can see her getting angry; she thinks the other androids are not fulfilling their duties. "What are they doing?"
We arrive in the middle of a ruined city, and my Planeswalker power immediately connects to the land itself. I release a sigh and rub the bridge of my nose. Other than gaining two Green Mana, I also receive basic information regarding the land.
We arrive in the correct place where the new city should be built, but…
"We are in the alternate version of that world."
I look at Zelretch, who is grinning at me after I said that.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"What? And ruin the fun? Anyway, it is not because I don't want to help you; I just didn't know where we were going. We use different kinds of transportation. We can do another jump, and I will guide you. I manage to grasp the basics."
"Right. Anyway, I cannot jump again yet. It needs to recharge for at least two hours."
"Really? There is a cooldown, huh?"
"Not really. I can jump immediately, but it will be purely random. A targeted jump needs a cooldown, but random jumps do not, so I can jump if I am trapped or something."
"Fascinating."
I shake my head and look at White.
"We will go to Anemone's base camp. It is not too far from here. Can you enter their network, White? See what the difference between our world and theirs is."
"I'm already connected, sir. They change the encryption every day, but they use the same pattern we use back home. After a quick read, there is nothing different. The only difference is that you did not come to this world to help us and give us hope. This world is still fighting for the empty hope of humanity living on the moon."
"Right. Then let's give them some hope, shall we?"
"How do we do this, sir?"
"Well, let's not beat around the bush. Let's say we are here to make the area habitable for humans. We can explore this place and change the planet along the way. We will tell them slowly that we are from another world and arrived by accident. Then we can ask them if they want to come to our home."
The others nod, with Zelretch shrugging his shoulders, and agree with my plan. What? I will use him as our taxi. His power allows him to create a portal, unlike mine. With that in mind, we start walking to the camp where the other androids are located. It is time for us to see the locals.
==| Line Break |==
"This place is hurting, Ryan."
"I know. What do you think I've been doing in the last few minutes?"
As we explore the ruined city, I've been absorbing natural energy and trying to revive the planet itself. It is already dead—unconscious and about to die. According to Zelretch, the planet does not respond to his call, which is why I was not bombarded by natural energy from the planet when we arrived."
"Wait. You are circulating natural energy? How could I not notice it?"
"That is because I mask the process with green mana. It gives a hint of the world and hides any changes. I trained this technique back on the alternate version of our world."
"Truly? You need to teach me that technique. It would be very useful in a fight. Anyway, I will help you."
"Just make sure not to go too far. The energy this world has is very foul, and too much of it will create problems."
"I understand."
We walk through the empty city. I can see Asia and Kunou looking around, playing in the empty buildings while also picking the mutated plants of this world. Even in the face of such a depressing situation, they always find something positive to do. They are truly strong. Stronger than us in this situation.
As for me, other than purifying the planet, I start seeding it using my mana. I plant five Green Mana into the land to heal the planet from within and boost the healing process. It will not be a fast process, but it is thousands of times faster than just purifying the natural energy.
We keep doing this for thirty minutes before arriving near the hidden camp. When we arrive, I can see Anemone and the others already waiting for us. Anemone looks at White with a frown on her face.
As we get closer, she says.
"Commander White. What are you doing here?"
"I came here because of an important mission."
She steps away, and I step forward.
"My name is Ryan Hernandes, and I have come here to check the situation on Earth. I want to see if the location is good enough for humans to stay."
The other androids start talking to each other. Some whisper, while others shout in surprise.
"And can I ask the reason why?"
"Why? Well, I need to see if my home planet is ready for my race to return, after all."
