Cao Yun's intent was fully focused on the Drop of Wrath. Cao Yun's Demon Soul was fighting the fragment of Demon God Da Mo's Demon Soul that had invaded his sea of consciousness. The face of Demon God Da Mo suddenly changed, and he actually became a giant asura. Unlike Axiu Qian, Demon God Da Mo had only two arms, but he had black horns, terrifying claws, and fangs. From his back, ten fleshy wings emerged. Demon God Da Mo's presence was mixed with Ghost Energy. In fact, Cao Yun could perceive faint traces of Mo Tian's aura. The former chief elder had been completely consumed. Unfortunately, Cao Yun could tell that his seals had been consumed as well. Nothing remained of them, so Cao Yun couldn't use them to crush his enemy.
Within Demon God Da Mo's sea of consciousness, the story was different. The red asura was afflicted by many plagues at the same time. The Black Death Prison poison was trapping him in his own flesh. Cao Yun's Death Energy was turning his prenatal Jing against him. The two elders had added to the poison with their own Death Energy. And now, Demon God Da Mo could tell that he had been tricked. Deep within, he felt something. Even now, he couldn't tell exactly what it was, but it had come from Mo Tian's seals without a doubt. In other words, this was the young man's doing. In fact, everything was this young man's doing. Demon God Da Mo had to kill him as fast as possible.
The Black Death Prison poison had attacked all his acupoints. Trying to leave his body might actually destroy his Demon Soul, even if he tried to force his way out. But there had to be some way. Even after his victory, which he didn't doubt at all, Demon God Da Mo would be crippled. Of course, he could obliterate the humans and all the demons who rejected him, but there would be no point in doing that. Indeed, he would die as a Reborn Demon, with no hope of becoming an Immortal Demon. Demon God Da Mo couldn't accept this outcome, but he couldn't forsake his body either. There had to be a way. Maybe he could find something in Cao Yun's mind. After all, he was probably the one who had refined the poison. Unfortunately, creating a poison didn't necessarily mean that he had any antidote.
As a matter of fact, Cao Yun had no antidote. Worse than that, he had no way of refining any antidote for this poison. Actually, he had the formula for the antidote, but some of the ingredients were unknown on the Piaolu planet. Moreover, he lacked sufficient experience or knowledge to refine it. After all, he had been unable to refine the full version of the Black Death Prison poison. Otherwise, Demon God Da Mo would have been in a much worse state, maybe even dead already.
Demon God Da Mo finally understood what the seals created by Cao Yun were doing. There were seven of them, and they all strengthened his Turbid Demons. In other words, those seals were trying to break his Demon Soul apart. Unlike Cao Yun, who had used the Weaver of Souls' method, Demon God Da Mo's Demon Soul was literally made of his Turbid Demons beaten down and forced into submission by Demon God Da Mo's cultivation. Those seals were working perfectly together in Cao Yun's attack on his prenatal Jing. Clearly, the young man was a master of Death Energy, and he was playing to his advantage. Thus, Demon God Da Mo would play to his.
From the wound left by Cao Yun's spear, a drop of blood began to spread. It flowed along the spear, passing through the Black Heart Flame and the Death Energy of Cao Yun himself. Demon God Da Mo's blood was resistant enough that most of it endured. It was weakened, but it endured. As soon as it reached the hands of Cao Yun, the Golden Blood entered his skin and spread through his entire body, using Cao Yun's own blood, mixing with it. Cao Yun had a good understanding of the Dao of Death, but Demon God Da Mo was an expert in the Dao of Blood.
The blood of Demon God Da Mo only contained traces of his pure Golden Blood. Indeed, Demon God Da Mo wanted to keep it as discreet as possible. When it penetrated Cao Yun's skin, it could have been sensed by the young man. Thankfully for Da Mo, Cao Yun didn't feel anything more than a vague tingling sensation, so he didn't pay any mind to it because he was too busy dealing with other problems. The blood spread very slowly through Cao Yun's veins and diluted itself into his bloodstream. Although the process wasn't fast, it didn't take very long for the blood of Da Mo to spread through Cao Yun's arms, as it was spread by Cao Yun's own blood.
The intruding blood tried to get to Cao Yun's heart, but it sensed a terrifying presence and avoided the organ. The Drop of Wrath could probably have digested this blood. Although Demon God Da Mo didn't know what this Drop of Wrath was, he could somehow sense it thanks to his Dao of Blood. Demon God Da Mo couldn't pierce through the secrets of the Drop of Wrath. However, he could tell that this blood had belonged to an incredibly powerful asura who could have annihilated him in a mere instant. Maybe this precious blood might help him restore his body or improve his cultivation faster. Everything wasn't lost, he might have a chance of preserving his body while becoming an Immortal Demon. His thoughts were interrupted by pain. Even he was having a bad time. Controlling his blood outside was extremely painful. He didn't need his soul to exit his body thanks to his comprehension of the Dao of Blood. However, he had to push his soul to its limits, and it was already in agony.
At this stage, Cao Yun had to admit that he had already revealed every trick he had. Clearly, it was working as Demon God Da Mo was getting weaker and weaker. Sadly, he was already so vastly superior to Cao Yun that the young man wasn't sure if it would be enough. Even the advantage of fighting in the Wubei Sect with many array formations to help and an entire army that could support him might not be enough. Still, Cao Yun would use all his weapons, as much as he could. Hopefully, he would be able to obliterate Demon God Da Mo. If worse came to worst, he might try to seal him again under the Empyrean Human Emperor Seal. That being said, Demon God Da Mo might be too powerful for it now. After all, the Empyrean Human Emperor Seal had already been used a lot.
The young man had failed to sense Demon God Da Mo's blood in him. Cao Yun focused on fighting the image of Demon God Da Mo. The two titans were fighting inside Cao Yun's sea of consciousness. They were beating each other up like beasts.
Axiu Qian punched Da Mo directly in the throat while two other hands grabbed the sides of his head and tried to gouge out his eyes. With a brutal jerk, Da Mo tried to headbutt Axiu Qian. The giant asura dodged, but Da Mo's head collided with his chest, and the horns pierced his skin. Immediately, Da Mo pressed forward, trying to stab Axiu Qian through the heart with his horns. Instead of retreating, Axiu Qian walked forward. As the horns got deeper into his flesh, this allowed Axiu Qian to also get closer to his enemy. He kicked Da Mo in the knee while two of his elbows struck the exposed back of the winged demon.
To protect himself, Da Mo completely retracted his wings as a form of cushioned shielding. However, one of his legs buckled, and he fell, losing his grip on Axiu Qian. Taking full advantage of the situation, Axiu Qian struck his enemy as much as he could. Obviously, Da Mo didn't let it happen. His ten wings suddenly opened and threw off Axiu Qian. The two demons were so close to one another that they couldn't even extend their arms fully. As such, they were throwing elbows, knees, and heads. Axiu Qian and Da Mo were extremely brutal. They were targeting vital areas and trying to cause as much damage as possible with every attack. Bones snapped and cracked over and over again.
Axiu Qian got so close to his enemy that he struck him with his shoulder before sinking two elbows under his ribs. Da Mo took the attack but immediately tried to bite off his enemy's neck. His fangs missed, but his claws slashed open Axiu Qian's forearm.
The infinite ocean below was turning into blood as the two giant figures were fighting. Although everything felt visceral, those were just manifestations of Cao Yun and Demon God Da Mo's Demon Souls. They had no blood per se and no bones. However, even Cao Yun and Demon God Da Mo almost forgot it as they were fighting for their lives.
For what felt like days, if not months, the two asuras fought. As they got tired, the fight paradoxically became more and more violent. Indeed, exhaustion made defending themselves harder, so more attacks were able to hurt each of them. Some bones became visible as Da Mo broke open one of Axiu Qian's arms. With no hesitation at all, Axiu Qian still attacked Da Mo with this arm, ignoring the pain and even stabbing the shoulder of his enemy with his own bloody, broken bone. Each wound was inflicted on their very soul. As such, they were, in fact, much more painful. Besides, their flesh could heal much more easily and faster than their souls, even their Demon Souls. Thankfully, they had only known pain so far, no actual soul injury.
Suddenly, Cao Yun felt a terrifying pull. His Drop of Wrath was so focused on the fight that it got completely thrown off. Da Mo used the opportunity to strike. His entire right arm pierced through Axiu Qian's chest. He was going straight for his heart. Immediately, Axiu Qian grabbed the arm with four of his arms while the other two arms grabbed Da Mo's shoulders. While Axiu Qian pushed Da Mo away, his four arms pushed the piercing arm downward. The stabbing hand shattered his rib cage, but its trajectory was forced to change. Instead of getting to the heart, it pierced through a lung and came out just under the ribs in Axiu Qian's back. Then, Axiu Qian used all his strength to keep the arm immobile.
In Cao Yun's body, the situation wasn't any better. The intruding blood suddenly contracted into a tiny bead. In an instant, all of Cao Yun's blood was sucked in. It was as if a vacuum had been created. As soon as it happened, the Drop of Wrath was almost pulled apart. It reacted by pure instinct and tried to pull blood back into itself while this terrifying vacuum was ripping it apart. This was the distraction that had allowed Da Mo to gain such an advantage in the soul fight. Cao Yun had failed to sense his enemy within and was now paying for it. Such a mistake might actually cost him the fight and his life.
Even now, Cao Yun's blood was being sucked toward the drop of Da Mo's blood. It was hiding in Cao Yun's leg, far from the place where it had invaded the young man's body. Cao Yun's red skin almost turned white, it was as pale as a corpse. Indeed, a large amount of his blood, if not most of his blood, was now trapped by this incredible pull. The bead hidden in his leg contained much more of his blood than of Da Mo's Golden Blood. With every ounce of strength he had, Cao Yun tried to make his blood flow through his body, but it was difficult to fight both the drop of blood and the fragment of Demon God Da Mo's Demon Soul at the same time.
Thankfully, Cao Yun could still use his Qi to feed his flesh and keep his organs alive and well. However, that meant that he had to focus more on simply staying alive instead of just having his blood do it for him in a natural manner. Unfortunately, it wasn't just a distraction. After all, Cao Yun couldn't believe for one second that this terrifying bead wouldn't attack him at some point. Demon God Da Mo was a master of the Dao of Blood. Obviously, he could do something with this bead that Cao Yun himself could not imagine at the moment.
Without even thinking, Cao Yun could tell that the source of the blood was the wound inflicted by his own spear, to be precise. After all, there was no other possibility. Even knowing that, he still couldn't feel Demon God Da Mo's blood. This fact was terrifying as it meant that such an attack could happen again. In fact, it could be happening, and Cao Yun had no way of sensing it. Touching Demon God Da Mo's blood, or just being close enough that it could touch Cao Yun, was a threat.
On the ground, Sun Liao could tell that Cao Yun was in a precarious position. His brother was as white as a corpse. But he still had a powerful aura around him. What truly worried Sun Liao was that Cao Yun might be forced to rely on his human cultivation. Unfortunately, his Soul Embryo was damaged. If Cao Yun did that, he might actually cripple himself forever. Besides, it would be like killing his sister a second time. However, he simply couldn't die. Cao Yun had to do something. At this point, Sun Liao knew that he wasn't supposed to intervene.
The archer and array formation master had to stay out of the fight until he had the opportunity to obliterate Demon God Da Mo. That being said, even if Cao Yun sacrificed himself to weaken Demon God Da Mo, they might never have this opportunity. So Sun Liao had to ask himself if he was ready to gamble with his brother's life. By then, it was clear to Sun Liao that Cao Yun was at the end of his rope. At the very least, he had already used all of his tricks. From now on, Cao Yun would have to face Demon God Da Mo head-on. After seeing the three most powerful cultivators of the entire Forsaken Dao Era give their lives just to wound an enemy that kept on coming, Sun Liao was starting to doubt that they had a chance at all.
Da Mo's voice echoed within Cao Yun's mind.
"Boy, I have to admit that you were a formidable opponent. Sadly for you, all your petty tricks are nothing when faced with absolute power. You should be happy that your blood will feed the one asura who will transcend reality itself. I will reach the pinnacle of cultivation, all thanks to you. Aren't you happy about this, boy?"
